Having freelance writers come in to write additional routes for stories they aren't familiar with is always a bit of a clusterfuck. It's not even down to the abilities of the writer to change that. R07 thought his work on rewrite was decent, and he even talked about how much easier it was to write since the boundaries of the setting were established for him, and you know how much of a mess the route he wrote was.

The person who killed Keiichi in this case was probably the project manager who gave the screenwriter the instruction to write an ending in which the protagonist would be found dead on a park-bench, and that's all there is to it.

Because that's how these production pipelines work. Some publisher decides to take up Higurashi, decides to change up the format and turn it into more of a traditional visual novel for some retarded reason related to target audiences and considerations of what a 'normal' product of this kind should look like and hires a supervisor to take care of the general structure the project is to have and coordinate the people involved. They hire a freelance writer and give him a jobs like 'Starting from decision point 14c write an alternative timeline in which things play out this way. It should be around 10000 to 15000 words.'.
The freelance writer will be paid a fixed amount to familiarize himself with the setting, and a certain amount of money per word written. Under those circumstances it doesn't make any sense to spend 60+hours diligently reading the entire fucking story. What you do is read the introduction and a more extensive summary of the plot, then skip through the story until you reach parts that seem relevant to what you will be writing about. Because you know the basic outline of the plot, you will know what to look for. For instance, if your writing centers around the later parts of the routes, starting from the Watanagashi festival, then you could safely skip 90% of the sol / club activity segments leading up to that point.

because willard explains nearly all the mysteries in a somewhat vague way that only takes a bit of digging to understand, the author is lazy. The lazy asshole who asked the readers of Higurashi to stop and theorize before continuing to Chapter 5, because he considers it the most enjoyable part of a mystery.

After reading Umineko a lot of Higurashi's stuff was pretty simple to guess.

I only read the first 6 arcs but the culprit pretty much has to be Lambda and I guessed Shion is actually the crazy one in the second arc. I ended up stopping because I couldn't come up with a full answer to Tatarigoroshi, I figure His friends cover for him and move the body in regards to Satoko's uncle but I couldn't guess Why the people he wants to die keep dying or Why he survived the poison gas and above all Why does Shion actually succeed in stopping the disaster when she takes action, it can't be because Rika dies too quick or something right?

I can definitely agree with that. If I were chatting with you before you jumped into Umineko, I definitely would have reccomended Higurashi first. A lot of mystery in Higurashi relies on the author being unknown. A weird scenario, since he's now known for wild magical concepts and perspective trickery. The lazy asshole did wanted to people theorize about things before reading the answer arcs for Higurashi, because he DID answer them, be it explicit or not. Keiichi's paranoia, Shion's "muh Satoshi", Rena's "Independence Day", Rika's "not this shit again" and even Satoko's "oji-san" problems received a proper answer arc.

But what about Umineko?
6 god damn long episodes to get the answer to the "who dunnit". The average reader might doubt about one or two, the smart one will say: "ah, that's it, here is the culprit". Then we have a final episode that explains a bit here and there and that's it.
6 mysteries left behind as a exercise to the reader. Nice, isn't it? Now read it again, 6 god damn long episodes, to understand them.
... Hey, that's... not easy, right? But don't worry, Umineko doesn't even need a manga or anything to answer them, because everyone can deduce Erika's trickery or, even better, that almost every single Ushiromiya was an accomplice, right? It's trivial.

I can understand that some prefer having the answer spelled out for themselves in the end, but how does Ryukishi choosing not to hold the reader's hand makes him lazy? It's not like he didn't write any answer, everything's in episode 7. You just have to think a bit about it because to him figuring out the truth for yourself is half the fun of a mystery, but it's all there.
Again, I understand that some prefer straight down answers but I don't see how choosing not to provide those answers makes him any lazy.

The manga is cool and all, I just completely disagree with it being a superior experience. Umineko intentionally leaves you with enough information to "climb the mountain" and you can even use the manga as the answer key if you really need it. I don't see how this is lazy. This series breaks specific traditions prepared by the classic mystesy novelists, but rarely the established rules. Why does the series have to solve itself for you when that is not the series' intent?

I don't know, this view seems somewhat entitled and doesn't account for a lot of things like the author's goal and message. It's why the magic vs trick dilemma exists in the first place. But of. course, we could pretend the magical scenes are almost all pointless and get upset about having to connect an abundance of hints that hrt trivialize a mystery.
