Comiket 93 is now upon us.

CD Spreadsheet and DS thread soon to come.

Reminders:
>Include album art and some brief info if possible.
>If you have lossless, please share it. Lossy formats (especially meme ones like opus/ogg) just piss everyone off.
>Avoid pointless "thanks for this" type posts.

Easy fucking bait, but there are people who actually believe this.

Lossless has been trivial for years. You can easily turn a lossless album into a lossy one if you actually need it. You canNOT turn a lossy album back into a lossless one, ever.

It doesn't even have to do with the sound, preservation is really important and we need to start doing it already.

the meme is that lots of you niggas think that you are entitled to things in lossless when it's pirating in the first place and lossless uploads, precisely because they are exact, diminish the value of people purchasing the actual fucking album (as they should if they want to satisfy their autism)
if you can tell the difference from lossless to lossy then feel free to go suck your own dick, everything is more than listenable in lossy

>You get "score" and "notes" for any upload.
>Notes are what is used to "pay" for other posts, so they're a limited resource, though realistically you shouldn't really run out once you start uploading stuff.
>
>For uploads (read: self rips) of albums released in the previous 3 months, you also get 2 extra points, called "love" and "contribution".
>
>There's basically 2 uses for points besides notes:
>1. They increase your "level", the higher your level, the more forum features you have access to. At a certain level you also get access to an extra section with more "exclusive" rips (in reality it's basically a dumping area for random CDs).
>2. Posts can be restricted so only people with x amount of point y can download it, so depending on how many of the various points you have, you might not be able to download certain user's rips.

The important one here is point 2, the majority of uploaders have some kind of restrictions on their uploads, so you can't just make an account, upload 1 or 2 albums and then leak everything. You basically have to invest in the community to get the best result out of it.

I don't know if 4chan's own archive was around and accessible back then, but the major issue was probably that the thanking deliberately defied the rule. As I said, it was understood as a "fuck you."
The genuinely autistic part of the user base has zero social skills and is used to mockery and bullying. Hence there is a tendency to misundertand even innocent actions as an attack, which then triggers the meltdown.
I was around that time and it was a shitshow, but I would put the majority of blame on those who violated the crytsal clear request of the uploaders to not thank them. If I remember correctly, it was even stated that these threads would be quitted if the "spamming" (thanking) continued. So it's not a wild guess to assume it was intentional sabotage.

>> No.18135687

>>18135640
>Everyone who does something for someone else wants to be appreciated, at least a little.
If I remember correctly, it was a few people who handled the bulk of uploading and the OPs stated that no thanking should occur. It looked weird, but if they offer something for free, the best way to thank them would be to play by their rules and accept their whims.
And while I have said that there were probably practical reasons - like not having 5 upload threads around at the same time - the major reason why these people left was probably the provocative behavior of those who willfully defied them.
If there's an idiotic law which regulates the use of a good but that doesn't hurt you, and if teh sale of the good is stopped b/c people ignore that idiotic law, I'd still blame the "criminals", not the "lawmakers".
But these a minor details. It involved a great level of mental health issues on both sides.

The "no thanking" thing came about when the /jp/ threads split from just download threads to download and discussion threads.
They split because probably 75% of the download threads were just people talking about the albums or "thank you" posts to uploaders, causing threads to hit bump limit quicker than necessary.
In the new split download threads, there was a "no thanking" rule to keep spam away, and this rule was enforced by the janitor.
Quickly people starting trolling, resulting in hundreds of deleted "thank you" posts per thread, completely derailing any real discussion and annoying uploaders. It remains a /jp/ meme ever since, even though /jp/ Comiket threads have been dead for years.

Doujin music is very niche at this point, anyone should have the freedom of doing whatever they want with their hauls.
I agree that cancerous sites like dojin.co shouldn't exist, they just take all the uploads from here and others good will of sharing and ask for donations, or private trackers using it to buffer their own ratio with someone else's release.
