Honestly? No. The things she finds interesting and exciting lie so far outside the realms of a typical human idea of a date that the whole enterprise would very soon fall flat on its arse.

Then there is the issue of Tengu being technically not very well accepted inside the Human Village, as we have seen in the manga. So, either Aya would need to conceal her identity each time she came down to the village, or the hypothetical me who dates her would need to walk up to the Tengu community up near Moriya, which is even less feasible.

And let's not even start on the whole physical differences and expectations angle of dating.

All in all, I'd much rather date the little lady of Hieda and listen to her sperging out about her books, or attempt the impossibility of getting on Reimu's romantic side. Aya, being what she is, where she is, and how she is, is a big, fat not gonna happen.

She was very obviously set on releasing it (else the fact checks wouldn't be there), so canning it was most likely a last minute decision. It's not like she didn't have plenty of reason, it included an interview with some foreigner calling her a Lunarian-tier bitch right to her face, an article from a competing newspaper that was mangled beyond recognition for the purposes of libel (proving the former thing correct), among other things.

I guess Aya wrote the fact checks hoping to salvage the book somehow? She's writing notes that address a reader that will hopefully never exist. Guess she wasn't in the best state of mind at the time; realizing the work you're using to stay ahead of the curve that you put so much effort into is actually trash would be quite a blow.
