I have been busy. I finally got back into the jelly game again and this time it has been going along better in godot than unity. I've currently been thinking of what other things I could add to the game to make it fun. I don't have any game suggestions but I remember you talking about Ecco before so maybe put in some weird ass creatures that definitely wouldn't be in a normal ocean like in that game. Also maybe a mantis shrimp boss.

I can't really think of a reason Ecco was fascinating other than that it was inherently fun to swim around as a dolphin and try not to drown. Also maybe ruins of Atlantis and time travel and stuff. Does your game have an overall theme/goal/plot yet? Maybe that's the first step to making it interesting.

There is a few ways. You could make it an actual 3D model with a mesh which is what I originally had but it didn't move like I wanted You could also maybe make it one big sprite and use shaders somehow to offset the rest but that sounds tricky.

I'm not too sure how to because it changes from the linear velocity of the rigidbody's vector to a rotation value that is changed by only the x of that velocity. maybe I can transition somehow but I'm not sure how. There does not seem to be any inbuilt sLerp function like unity has to do it for you but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to manually make it.

"Deformed" means intentionally stretching normal proportions. Your character is deformed. Small adult? Heck no, it is clearly an oppai loli. For her to be seen as an adult, you need not only boobs, but also adult proportions and a less childish face (no plump cheeks, more maturity in expression). Round == childish; sharp == mature.

Wow! It's been a while since we've had one of these! /jp/ was the first place I ever posted this.

(I'm that guy making the loli kidnapping sim)

Some progress since last time:

* Lots more art (3 poses: standing(+bj/hj), spread-legs, doggystyle), and in 3 ages (kindergartner, elementary, middle schooler), as opposed to just elem/standing.
Also more clothes (dress, kindergartner outfit, school uniform) instead of just kindergartner outfit. Also colour-swaps (palette)
Also 4 hair styles (long, short, 2 pigtails types) instead of just pigtails.
And made the hair/skin/eye colour swaps look a lot better (especially with blush colours, etc)

* Extended the playing-doctor scene, lolis can orgasm, etc. Also wrote the reverse-doctor (bossy lolis will demand to be the doctor instead of the patient).
This includes bj/hj, and also cumming on her on the end (face, body, etc).

* LOTS of bug-fixes! fixed interior pathing (lolis no longer phase through walls), fixed some car-collision bugs, fixed tonnes of crashing-bugs, fixed text-wrap-around/newline bugs, fixed minimap stuff + tonne of other stuff.

* Started working more on the stealth stuff. Added in suspicious-regions (ie school classrooms, bathrooms, etc) where your suspicion will increase if you're out of place in them (ie male in girl's bathroom, random dude in a school).
Gonna later add in disguises (ie janitor to get into school). However none of the NPCs actually react to this yet... will do that later. Also added in the ability to drag lolis/etc (instead of the dumb picking-her-up-sideways from before)

* Added cops back in (they're now with behaviour trees for AI instead of their old simplistic state machine).

I'll make another post showing the dragging and then will ask some stuff about it since this post is getting pretty long.

Okay here's the dragging animations.

Here is what I'm wondering - what about her breaking free? If she's non-chloroformed, that is. If she's chloroformed she won't flail like this.

I was thinking of having some control bar that would go down when she flails, then go up when you do something (hit/choke her?), or when you're standing still. That way you have to think about how long you're dragging her for.

I don't really want blind button-mashing though... would be nice if you had to think about how much you're choking/etc her... well, if you don't want to hurt her, at least. Since if you hit her a bunch she won't like you.

Then I was thinking about allowing you to tie her up, which would let you drag her without resistance just like when she's chloroformed.

Like you'd probably have some other 15-30 second or so operation of tying her up. Maybe even with the same mechanics, like punch her to try and make her resist less, or maybe have a restrain button that would increase control, but delay the 15-30 second timer more. I could also make it switch to the dialogue GUI when you initiate rope tying to give more rich branching options, but that might be a bit awkward. What do you guys think?

The menu you see is just a development one for me testing out the art (since going through dialogue just to see how a certain pose/clothes/age/cum combination looks is terrible. I'll probably leave it in as a little easter egg in the main menu, but since this includes age/skin/etc changing, it won't be a part of the main game, since all of those are decided by genetics (DNA) + physical age. I'll let you do a clothes/hair one though probably later on.

I had an artist that drew this pose and this pose only. They disappeared though, so I had to extend it to support kindergartner-sized/aged bodies + middleschooler ones, and also drew the blowjob/spread-legs/on-all-fours pose. And the dress/school uniform + the other 3 hair styles + all other faces.

...which is why the face looks worse in the spread-legs pose than in the standing one, since I had to draw that from scratch.

And here is the schoolday morning where the lolis walk to their desks after I fixed the interior pathing. There's no teachers yet though. They just sit in their desk for a few hours then go to the park to play, then after that they go home and sleep.

Later on I'll add them going to the bathroom if they need to go, so you could ambush one in there maybe.

Right now the lolis never go to the bathroom when they're in the outside world, which is funny since as soon as you kidnap one, their captive AI can go to the bathroom, so suddenly they just start pissing like crazy since their bladder is liters of piss. It amuses me so much that I almost don't want to fix that. But I will before the demo.

Speaking of which, I'll be releasing a pre-alpha-0.3 by the end of the year (likely late December). It should be a nice change from the 0.2 demo from over a year ago. And yes, I'll release full source code, etc like usual. And also this time I plan on actually making sure it builds on linux, since last time I was rushed since it was submitted to a demo day deadline, so people had to change a few lines of code to get it to compile on other operating systems. Maybe I'll even provide a makefile this time.

Are you willing to work within the existing style? I'd be very glad if someone could draw different expressions, etc. Faces are my absolute weak point. I am very hesitant to just chuck out what exists already though, due to past experiences with that artist leaving. Different poses/clothes would be appreciated too, but I don't want the number of clothes/hairstyles to explode too much since for each one added you need to add it to the other poses... Also if someone could touch up some of the existing art that they think looks especially shit that could be nice too.

Bear in mind it would be strictly within the existing colour-palette due to the genetics/etc swap system.

Not completely, but there are area/systems where I plan on adding it. For example in the playing-tag game the lolis right now always say yes if someone asks if they can join the game, but later I'll make them only say yes if they like the other loli. I've also got a "life events" system where I want to define random little events like "stepdad touches your special place", "wet pants at school and everyone laughs", etc that have effects like modifying the opinion other NPCs have of that NPC (likely just positive/negative, nothing too complex), or modifying the mood/personality of the loli (ie making them more shy, etc). Right now the personality is ~50% genetic and ~50% personality (I used the numbers from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_personality_traits#Heritability ), and right now the other ~50% is just randomly-assigned modifiers at loli-generation time (ie personalityModifiers.organizedToCareless = random.randomFloat(-0.5f, 0.5f); ). Later on I want this non-genetic component to be entirely based on this LiveEvents. So when you generate a loli it'd simulate from her birth to her current age by just randomly pulling from life events.

The bullied/less liked lolis would had lower self-esteem etc, so later on (right now there's no impact) they'll be easier to manipulate.

I had to turn it into sprites and cut a bunch of frames out because I still have no idea how to get the whole 3D viewport in 2D worlds working on godot. the tutorial for it is broken. I kind of had it working but then there was a problem of all the ratios being wrong when you stretched or changed the window size. It is a bit bigger this way than as a 3D mesh with a texture but I got it under 4mb so I think that should be okay. I don't like when games are needlessly big but the smoother animation would have been nice. Oh well.

I like your attention to personality traits.
I had been making some simple models a while back to model based on a bunch of different personality analysis methods too.
I should revive that project one time.
I was mainly doing it for a generic "real" character system that isn't just basic AI, which I could then put in to any game for NPCs.
Maybe even make it an open source library for others to use and tinker with.

It also has genetic inheritance, which I thought you would like since you added that sort of detail too. Yours is even more fleshed out though, literally in some regards.
Mines only deals with vital stats though, from the basic strength, endurance and other stats to intelligence, emotional quotients, personal likes and dislikes to a list of things you can pass to it, and even immune response, sensitivity and health.
Easy to pick and choose what ones are to be used or ignored at the initialization stages in a list. At present, CSV list. Could be array based too. Not really important.

I'm unsure about how I should structure the dialogue graph. Here is (top left) how it used to be earlier this year, (top right) how it is now, and (bottom) the macro-level structure of how I am considering.

The bottom would be like a "conversation hub" style thing. It would help reduce the explosion of having like 30 choices once more dialogue is written.

It can handle arbitrary digraphs though, not just tree structures.

But having the macro hub-level transitions be hierarchical does give nice structure, I guess? I mean each of those hubs could have arbitrary flow within it like in the play-doctor ones.

But what about, say, if you're in the school hub? Should the "back" tier choice (ie "let's talk about something else") be to stuff_about_her_life? or to the central hub? or one for each?

All the games I've made previously have been either devoid of dialogue, or were very light on dialogue, so I've never run into this kind of stuff before. I've never made VN-tier games or anything.

I also haven't played any VNs beside UAB so I'm not really sure what is good about this - you guys are probably experts compared to me.

Too lewd is actually in there still. Basically if a loli is uncomfortable with what's going on (mood-based) she'll hit that outcome, then you'll get choices like backing off, or overpowering her (or maybe in the future) threatening her.

carryfuck was simple an old animation from the previous pre-alpha where you pick her up in the air in front of your chest and fuck her like that. The vag/anal rape ones were the ones where you push her down onto the ground and j-j-jam it in. There's a mega upload on the 2+2+3+1-chan's /agdg/ thread for the old pre-alpha-0.2, but it's over a year old. Hopefully by the end oft he year I can release a new build with the new graphics/etc.

The daily theme is just there to help if you ran out of ideas or to focus your creativity (if you have too much ideas to go for). There are a few other variants such as Halloween and Goreinktober. But you are free to pretty much do anything, as long as it is mostly ink.

But with about one day remaining, what difference does it make? Just do it, themed or not. If one wants to make 30 ink drawings in the remaining time, that's awesome, more power to them. I'll be prepping for NaNoWriMo.

At the time, I was simply prototyping it in JavaScript since it was easy to also do it on tablet whenever I am away from PC.
I created a very simple sandbox for running JS inside an iframe.

Also, the immune response bit isn't all that complicated, it was just essentially the same as your code example, simple comparison between the innate immune systems response to the strength of an infection, if over, it compromises that area of the body.

The body was split up in to groups based on major joints. (which weren't based on human, specifically, just major joints in general)
Made it vastly simpler to model infection.
And based on the blood flow, if infections enter the blood, it will do a simple probability calculation on how long it will take to get from one major area to another, and again the local immune system fighting against said infection.
The immune health is the endurance, actually I think I did name it that eventually, the ability for it to continue fighting before it runs out of useful cells in that area.
Immune growth would dictate how long it would take for it to grow new cells.

Speaking of bodies, I made this hilariously broken creature generator a while back too.
I never did finish this either.
I was writing a new version that would create pivot points for generating new limbs and wrote a very basic weighting system for how limbs should work.

Few years ago I planned to make some random touhou fangame and learn things about game developement. I also had some ideas about game themed by Finnish myhtology. I asked here in /jp/ at random thread would someone be interested about touhou clone with original story and characters and one person asked about joining the project. She ended up designing character portraits for the game (pic related).

I also knew one skilled programmer, who was interested about game development but didn't have any active projects in that time. He made our game engine and helped me in every major difficulties in programming stuff. Now we are implementing last features and making changes based on players feedback. I enjoy working with him a lot. Then we have one composer in our team. The song of the video is the stage 1 theme. You can expect very versatile ost for the game. Lastly we have one more artist in our team. He made everything else regarding graphics, but those dialogue-portraits in the game. I'm very happy to have him with us. So total of 5 persons.

The bind switch would be like you have "currently selected" ability, say bound to R or F. It would show in the bottom left corner.

When it asks you to bind it will let you press ANY key that isn't already bound to a fixed action (ie not stuff through this menu).

Perform will just do the action

Bind Use will make it so when you press that button again it will directly execution the action

Bind Switch will just make the 'currently equipped' action be that one.

Do you think the switch thing is necessary or a good idea?

I was just worried that it would be weird if you didn't know which ability you had bound to something and there wasn't a quick way to find out without executing it. Plus it lets you select something you bound to a far-away key (since you have a lot of stuff bound) like P, then you could spam it a bunch with R (or space? whatever, I'll let you rebind the keys anyway).

Also got gamepad support working besides in menus. I'll get that working later.

Are you trying to ask if the game should support macroing commands inside the game? If it's a bunch of menus inside of menus and you have a time limit, then yes. There should also be a bar of them. Like selecting them with 1-0 or something. Labeling them would quickly help you find them. Example being like in roguelikes where menu items are keyboard button presses labelled a-z;A-Z, you could show a macro as like "i B v b", but just having a pop up list of the commands if you rolled over a bar or a opened the hotkeyed macro menu would work fine.

Attempted to bring the hopper to life. I'm not exactly sure why it's edges are all rough but I think it's a problem with blender (it wasn't the AA levels and I always save as avi jpeg video) I need to fix the weights and make some better animations but it has a neat little IK system. I'm not sure these will do besides hop around but they have menacing tusks which could be useful if one tries to chase the player.

If you want to draw Japanese style, learn the basics of drawing and then start copying all the Japanese stuff you like until you draw that way and mix it up with sketching from photos of real people in various poses so you don't get caught up in those fucked up anatomy traps some artists do, and spend some time sketching things like draped fabric or photos thereof and such to lean about folds and shadows and stuff. Might want to hit a book about form and shadow and perspective too.

You'll get better at drawing just grinding it out if you actually try to improve and don't get comfortable with your ability at any one point. Also try making a character and redrawing them from time to time.

Get good at faces too. That is like the non-Japanese's biggest weakness.

Might be true. But I think the most important thing is just to look like a face proportionally. Like how characters are fine with dot noses but look strange if they completely lack that dot. It's more the placement of features being too high or too low or too spaced out or too large that makes them look weird. Humans can see faces in things that aren't even remotely faces after all. I think it's more about feature placement recognition than perception of details. Although details are how you keep from being a sameface artist.

Well I got it to bind your uses to a button, and I thought of making it so that like if you have it bound to X, then pressing X once will set the current action to the action, then any additional presses will perform the action on the nearest valid target.


But then I thought, I have this neat little contextual action thing that searches for nearby things to interact with (items on ground, cars, etc) and lets you hit Tab to toggle through them and E to use them (on KB controls).

So I decided to also make it generate contextual action callouts for those...

Turns out it's pretty derpy to have them both in the same system since I kept throwing cans while trying to pick them up, etc lol.

Should I have two contextual callouts? Say, R for contextual ability (based on the last used one - or maybe even let it keep track of the last few used ones?, and keep E for the non-ability ones? (ie picking stuff up, entering cars, etc.)

I mean I guess I could always just change the priority (would be piss-easy) and have it order the callouts so item pick-ups come first then NCP talk then cars, then finally actions... but then I'm sure that would be annoying when you're trying to perform the action instead of picking things up.

Or maybe I should keep that, but then have R force-use on the nearest target (similar to when you hit "Perform" in the action chooser menu), and then keep the contextual action performing as a lowest-priority thing for the press-E contextual general interaction?

I'm also probably going to condense those two Bind Use/Bind Switch into just Bind. Or maybe I'll just remove that terminal submenu entirely - after all, the idea is you press any key that isn't hard-bound (ie in the menu) to something will soft-bind it (ie overwriteable by other soft-binds) to performing that action.

So I guess I could just omit the entire last menu, then have if you press another key when hovering over an action it'll bind, and if you hit accept it'll perform.

Also she didn't piss herself from being scared when you chloroformed her, that's just a bug where as soon as a loli goes into a different state besides the normal one, they suddenly get a functioning bladder, so their incredibly full bladder (since there are no toilets yet) instantly makes them piss their pants.

Also got rid of that "Perform / Bind Use / Bind Switch" terminal level of the action chooser - instead you simply hit GUI accept (A-button on controller, space, enter, etc) to perform it, and any non-bound key to bind it to that key. And what I have is that Use and Switch are kind of the same now. Press the button once to simply switch to it, then again to use it. Soon I'll change the HUD in the bottom left to show what the selected action is.

But it looked kind of silly, so I made the lolis react as well to crimes being committed. They'll run away from the player and scream ("Aaaah!", "Help!" etc), then once they're far away they'll run to the nearest adult and tell them about all the crimes they witnessed.

Once I fix the noise system I'll make the kidnapping make noise, which will make the other lolis who didn't notice turn around so they can see the crime.

I guess I could make it based on personality, so some lolis would just cower in fear instead.

I really need to make it not be a uniform chance per-genepool to spawn lolis. I have 10 gene pools (of which the nationalities are grouped):

First off, use a mirror, or draw on transparent paper, or use digital tools that let you mirror the drawing.

Having learned that, you will need to work on your faces a lot, as well as proportions. Proportions are practically entirely off, but a good-looking face can still save the picture sometimes. To be quite honest, its asymmetry and element positioning make this face completely hideous. The shapes of its elements aren't very attractive too. While anime allows a great deal of freedom in facial proportions and positioning, there are good combinations and bad combinations. That Patchouli-ish sheep, on the other hand, has attractively shaped facial elements and almost symmetrical eyes, but the lower half of her face is fucked up due to a poor understanding of volume. This won't require to redraw picture from the scratch, so here's a quick plane grid (I should have noticed that the eyes aren't aligned with the facial shape...) to give you some idea about how the—simplified yet never flat—moe anime face is supposed to look from this angle, and 4 standard anime nose shapes. Look up some anime models on sketchfab or head charts in google to get a better understanding of various angles.

After you grasp that, you have to learn how to depict perspective and anatomy correctly. Look at the bottle and the hand holding it. It looks like the thumb is turned towards the bottom of the picture, which is impossible in this position. And if it isn't, well, you can't bend your hand like that. And with this hold, there's no way the bottom and the neck of the bottle won't be rounded.

Learning those things should be enough to make your drawings passable.

For really cheap cookie-cutter models: Start by building a base model out of a front+side figure drawing. Model only the figure (body and head), without clothing and hair. Draw your own base figure faggot.

Once you got that down, you just model different hair styles. The hairs are drawn on another sheet, traced over the drawing of the base model. Generally, make the front hair and and the back hair separate pieces, as to enable a large variety of mixing. Just like CM3D2 and Illusion games.

The trick to Japanese-like anime models is the shaders, lighting, and coloring. If your engine/game/whatever can use "toon" shading then use it. AVOID Western shadows/black shading, it never works. See the difference when an 2hu is on MMD and the horror when it is ported to Garry's Mod or SFM.

Generally search for Metasequoia (メタセコイア) modelling, it's the only place you can find decent ideas and tutorials for anime-style models. Search for results in Japanese too. I used to have a shit ton of tutorials before accidental bookmark wipe, but only this one remains:

For proportions, there are some charts. I made some myself for other inquring beginners, but it's impossible to locate them now.

Anyway, it's indeed flattering that you consider me worthy of teaching something, so here are my crude proportions for female (some applicable to males too) characters:

Vertical:
Non-anime head proportions:
Chin to mouth =~ mouth to lower eyelids =~ eyes to the middle of the forehead. Not reliable, but can do.
Chin to nose = nose to brow ridge = brow ridge to the hair line (for males, actually; female hairline is lower). This, on the other hand, is quite reliable. While the mouth can be positioned very randomly in anime characters, a nose too long or too short will invariably ruin the look if other proportions correspond to normal human proportions.

Head = a
Neck = ~0.5a
Torso = 2~3a
Middle/lower line of the boobs (basically, the point at which they separate from the body if they are large enough, or the point at which they end in the case of DFC or small breasts) = 1/3 of the torso from the top
Navel = ~2/3 of the torso from the top
Ribs that are visible from the front end at 1/2 of the distance between the middle line of the boobs and the navel.
Hips (the meaty part, not the bones) usually start at the navel or slightly above it.

Shoulders (top part of the arms) end just above the navel. Forearms are about 0.9 of the length of the shoulders. Hands are about 1/2 of the forearm length. Fingers are 1/2 of the hand's length. The thumb is as long as other fingers, it's just that it starts way earlier.

Thighs = 2~2.5a (or 0.7~0.9 of the torso; no less than 0.55 of the torso in any case)
Calves (lower part of the leg) are 0.8~0.9 of the thigh length (so your character's heels will invariably press up their butt if they sit in seiza). Feet are 1/2 of the calf length.

Horizontal:
Head width — about 1/2 or 2/3 of the torso width.
The shoulders are 2~3 heads (width, I mean) wide (normally; anime characters can have really wide heads like in your pic) for female characters, and males usually have considerably wider shoulders, but no wider than 4.5 heads in any case.
The hips shouldn't be wider than the shoulders, so if you want a big butt, you either consciously deform the character or make other proportions bigger to correspond with normal human anatomy.


I highly recommend using accurate sketchfab models from guys like rafasouza3d (and others in various "anatomy" collections) to learn both basic proportions and how they change with angle. Your own body may suffice too, depending on its similarity to the intended subject.

Finally, I'd like to add that a good percentage of popular anime artists whom I know did not actually read any textbooks or grind tedious exercises like /ic/ tells everybody to do. They simply have been drawing what they like a lot.

It's a Jack-o-Lantern. It's a remnant from when I made the trick or treaters. I just hacked it in to put them beside every door regardless of the day.

I've since removed them though. When I actually get around to making close-up portraits of the costumed girls I'll add it back in so they show up during October, and will also make the lolis only trick or treat on Oct 31st from like 4-8pm or something. But right now I just turned it off since if you talk to a trick or treater they just show up naked in dialogue since I don't have the art.

It's inside the player's rape dungeon. The school has the only other toilets - the other houses I didn't put in bathrooms (yet). So all these lolis just ran into his basement.

You don't even need to kidnap them, just install a toilet and it attracts lolis like bears to honey!

I'm going to tweak the pathfinding weights so that any house that isn't their house or the school has a high weight so they won't just run into random people's houses like that.

The reason I had to walk close to them is I have a (temporary debug) ability where if you walk near girls it fills their bladders so I can test this code. The other one ran to go find an adult once I grabbed her flailing friend in the basement.
