I wouldn't even know where to start, but I'm not really worried. Even if it was true, I don't think all my data being spied on relies on a translation patch for a niche japanese video game. If a translation patch is enough, then odds are I'm already fucked.

It's true though. Practicing can help you learn how to do something, but if the correct technique is beyond your skill level, then you can't just magically get better at it.
All of Clownpiece's spells took me dozens of attempts on every pointdevice run, even after learning how to do them and "capturing" them (mostly through sheer luck) on previous runs. Spending all that time in what basically amounts to spell practice didn't help me a single bit with her, because she requires speed and precision far beyond what I can consistently do. That's all there is to it.

That it is, good work. And PCB is nice because you can gradually step down the cheapness by moving to SakuyaB, then Reimu A then B, then Mari, and by the time you're done you'll be at least twice as good at the game.
Meanwhile, I bombed through Philosopher's Stone and messed up the route for Cranberry Trap, but reigned in the stupid mistakes and narrowly managed a clear anyway. Beating Flan was very satisfying despite its being an objectively terrible run.

I hate SoEW so much, I've died three times now near the very end (not sure exactly how close, but it was very close) after getting to Mima with 2-3 lives in reserve. I'm sorely tempted to use a script for autofire.

What difficultly?. It can be fun once you get the feel for it.
Mashing fire is a pain but you will get through it, just time your bombs right.

It took me like a 2 weeks playing off and on to normal 1cc with ReimuA and then another 3 days for B and C. It was my second touhou game I played (I played them in order), so the bigger hit box and no focus didn't really feel like a crutch since didn't play the later games that feature them. Fuck that extra though.

>> No.17710434

Normal. I've been using B, I heard it was easier than A. How bad is the difficulty spike between normal and lunatic? I'm usually only dying to/bombing through the second boss, Marisa, and Mima (and one part in the fourth or fifth stage where I always accidentally wall myself).

>> No.17710578

>>17710434
I found it easier with A, the speed helps with collecting Point/Power items, thus more lives. B and C are slow as balls in caparison. But once you tackle A, B and C should follow relatively quickly. Focus on Marisa patterns more, and bomb your way through Mima if you must. That's the way I did it.

I'm no lunatic player but as far as I can tell, the difficulty spike is pretty fucking high in lunatic, since you kinda have to be aggressive in point/power/bomb colletion for lives. And those said items fall off the screen pretty quickly. With no auto collect, no focus, and shit flying towards you at high speed (on lunatic), SoEW becomes one of the harder games to 1cc. Don't sweat it if can't beat it at that level.

Also kinda off topic, but changing the music to MIDI mode did help me push through, since it's fucking great. I use Nekoproject2, Virtual MIDISynth, and Patch93s sc-55 soundfont v2.2 in order for it to work properly.

How in the world do you do "Genetics of the Subconscious"? Is it supposed to be played like a survival card?

For Curse of Dreams and Reality, you have to move a bit more than Ran's version, which means you'll have to change direction a few times. It's a pain in the ass, and I don't know if there's a great way to do it.
For Balance of Motion and Stillness, move in a large counterclockwise box. Start towards the bottom left, then slowly stream to the right to do the bulk of your damage. Once you're near the right edge, move quickly up to misdirect the next shots, back across to the left side moving just below Yukari (as she shoots two down the center), down through the previous wave's bullets (as she shoots two off to the left), and repeat. SakuyaA should make it quick.
For shikigami Ran, stay centered, about halfway up to Yukari. Ran's path takes her up the center through that area twice each cycle, so dodge in alternate directions and work your way back before she returns.
For Danmaku Bounded Field, it's static, so you can either watch a replay or figure it out yourself, and just memorize where to go each time.
And you know how to do everything else because it's basically the same as Ran.
>>17716199 is right as well, Sakuya gets four bombs per life, so if you're proactive with them you can bomb 28 times in that stage. That won't help you learn how to do it with Mari, though.

Guys how many attempts on average do you think it takes for someone to actually get a 1cc? I'm at that point where my mind is broken from how many fucking attempts I've made at this point. I mean, I'm not exactly counting anymore, but I'm getting to the point where I genuinely feel like this fucking 1cc ain't happening.

As a human being, I don't think this shit's possible. Humans can't do this. The only things on this planet who can do this are robots, calculators, and Asians.

It's really not super crazy, I'm just getting frustrated with patterns that overlap themselves. Midboss Tewi and Eirin are infuriating and Kaguya's stupid fucking lasers just feel like something that I can't react to. Marisa's stupid fucking stars are also driving me nuts, because I feel like half the time I'm super confident and I die, but then there's times where I somehow avoid them without a single shred of confidence. I know Marisa's a magician, but there's too much magic here for me to comprehend.

Doesnt help that my field is electronics and Im bit of a noob in programming aside from some embedded stuff.
Libraries as in graphics libraries, sound li raries etc.

The graphics are all done with DirectX, mostly with the sprite-drawing functions, and sound with DirectSound. If you can learn the basics of how to write a generic game engine, I think the only unique challenge of a danmaku game would be the mathematics needed to make good patterns. In any case, you'll have to work your way up to it, so be patient.

They're on a timer. You don't get them to die, you just survive long enough that the timer runs down and they suicide. However, you do have to shoot or the timer won't tick down. Komachi and Eiki have ridiculously long timers to start, but they get shorter each time you lose, so the best strategy is to stock up on lives early on and not die at all before stage 8.
