Yes, there are a few companies that change shit for a western audience, but their original Japanese releases stay the same. Worst case scenario is that they'll fuck with the localizations (e.g.- 4Kids-style edits and dubbing). The source material isn't changing. That's also probably why it's unlikely anime will ever truly be accepted like these other mediums that can be shifted and molded by the western vocal minority.

My main point is that there are always gonna be naysayers, yet the elephant in the room (loli, fanservice, etc.) isn't going to disappear entirely, even if they do manage to make a minor impact. All that matters is that we'll have to see how Japan plays its cards over the matter for the next few years. For starters, they've tightened up CP laws, which itself is still in a grey area at the moment. I can't speak for everyone in the country, but hopefully they'll come up with an acceptable solution that will smooth things out.
