It's a little difficult to press lowercase l and capital K at the same time.

Command line based works fine for me.
However GUI won't even start, it just crashes immediately.

Any ideas?

2. cd into the directory with the .exe files.

To avoid the ambiguity between l and I etc, avoid using that part of the keyboard and use the equivalent w and 1 instead.
