With how many characters Kawakami always writes, it's hard to keep track of them when each chapter is weeks apart, or at least that was my experience during Hong Kong A.

Well, 1 volume of the Horizon LN is equivalent to 2 or 3 of a normal LN, so you will take a little longer to finish it. Second, exactly because of its size and also because it's been under the radar since the anime ended, there's no immediate danger of it being licensed.Third, if you end up liking to read it, you may also like to read other Kawakami works from the other eras like Ahead, City and Obstacle, so I don't think you'll end up with nothing to read so soon.

Being new isn't a excuse to be this fucking stupid.

Do you realize we have the best translator in a decade working forever with kawakami LN's and he's fast enough to translate one of the biggest light novels ever made? literally these 4 volumes have around 20k -35k pages if I remember correctly and each chapter is the equivalent of 3 -4 chapters of any standard LN.

We don't know much about him/her because he/she never talk about himself, is just that 6 years ago we suggested him to pick Owari no Chronicle and js06 fell in love with it, and now he's translating everything from kawakami.

The anime ended in volume 2-B of Horizon, but I suggest you to first read the LN (vols 1-2) then watch the anime. After that just keep reading the LN and prepare your heart for volume 3.

Uhm, I can't say for sure that he is a good translator or not, but I tried to read the raws for Horizon and it was just impossible. To be able to translate that and fast on top of that is something that I respect very much.

As opposed to what the anon above me said, I think it's better to watch the anime and then fill in the gaps with the LN, I thought it to be a lot more rewarding that way. Like when you read it and things finally click and you understand better what happened in the anime.

The problem with the anime is how condensed is the information there, is not a bad adaptation at all but you will miss a lot of information, stories, background, the past of some characters that aren't present in the anime.

Basically you have these 2 options:
1. watch the anime then see how many info was cut
2. read the LN and then watch the anime as a way to see those scenes animated.

HO is fun but is far from good, it has a lot of issues and kamachi only works on episodic object battles leaving aside every type of character develiopment.

Index is just awful, NT17 is by far one of the worst volumes ever and Kamachi is still throwing more nonsensical trash without making any legit connection in the story and which is more stupid, he uses the "it's magic!" justification. The character development is by far the worst part of Index, put a new character each 2 volumes just to throw them into the garbage.

Volume 3 was literally the downfall of Musashi and the break point for them to recover after being at the verge of losing everything, many lifes were lost and a lot of sacrifices were done.

Volume 4 on the other hand worked perfectly as a build up for their strenght, we saw everyone in Musashi grow up, same goes for other characters introduced in this volume.

For me volume 4 was simply perfect, the battles, the dialogues, the characters, everythiong was on point. As expected from Kawakami to be honest.

Oh and btw, despite knowing all the girls are the best, Narumi is by far the best of all of them.
