This man is a fucking legend. Shooting gangbangers on Friday, cuddling Inaba on Saturday like a real teardrop mothafucka. You can't top this picture, but if you do, I still won't accept it.

This pic, sans Reisen, is over a decade old.
Do you guys really not recognize it?
It's the "I could kill you if i wanted" image macro.

We are old as fuck man. Most people who were on 4chan in 2006 have left, rediscovering past memes is like archeology.

Was around back then too, just don't come by as much or post as often. I miss the NEET threads, they seem to be all gone.

I've only been NEET for one year. If I was home alone it would be good. But since I live with parents, it's bad. I'd rather be in university.

It's comforting to see someone still on /jp/ with similar numbers (I'm at 14 myself).

How do you two afford to keep going? I've heard of people who work for a while and then use their savings to NEET but I'd be surprised if you had savings to last you 14 years.

Social Security Disability. Got sick, went badly, and never fully recovered in the sense that I am physically unfit to sit in a chair 8 hours a day or be laboring somplace. Had a degree and was working when it happened (though I found normal job life exceedingly banal and unsatisfying).

After the depression, I acclimated to it and decided to enjoy the time I always wanted. All and all, I like it.

Not familiar with burger and bong land, that US and Canada maybe? I am in the US.

Not especially tight. I live with an older sister who never got married and we split expenses for the most part. When I was working, I opted for long-term disability, so I may get slightly more than the average SSI stipend split between the two.

There isn't a lot left over at the end of the month, but I eat well, have a healthy diet, am able to get games, books, a daki, things like that within reason. If I were 100% solo, things would be tighter of course.

Signing up for a medicare replacement plan also helps. There are medical plans that get paid by medicare to do their job for them and they cost less (free for the one I'm on, so less deductions than regular medicare) and they concentrate on keeping you healthy as it's less expensive for them than paying for hospitalized people so they give you perks like monthly stipend of over the counter stuff, etc.

As you don't make too much cash wise, a lot of places will waive/give you discounts on co-pays and the like as well. It all adds up and saves a lot over time.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you and your sister and how long have you been on /jp/. You seem to have things fairly worked out. I'm surprised that someone with a degree is NEETing as well.

I just turned 44, she is 53. I don't recall exactly what year I came here. It was near the beginning though once I found out about/ran across 4chan. If memory serves, /jp/ wasn't around yet when I started coming here, but shortly after it was added, I enjoyed it and considered it home.

Chronic pain. Best way to describe it is, most things I do physically have a pain cost. Go to the store, that will be x pain. Get up and cook dinner, have a side of pain with it. Have to go and sit in a waiting room for an hour or 2, x pain + x residual pain over the next day or two and be in complete misery after the 1st hour. When I am not in certain positions, after a short period of time, pain will begin and keep ramping up until I am back in bed. Sitting up in a chair like a normal person is not a position I can do much without pain. The result is, I am stuck in bed most of the time. Recliners are so so, but hurt after a while too.

The more I do just about anything physically, the more it hurts and the longer it hurts (hours/days).

Norco helps a little and extends the leash of what I can do, but doesn't take it away. I know some people enjoy hydrocodone, but I get no pleasure or high from it. Without it, I would likely head to Gensokyo myself as it would probably drive me crazy over time.

Yikes. Happy birthday. There's not much I can do aside wish that you feel better I guess. There's a big push in the country I live in at the moment for medicinal cannabis for pain relief and news articles etc about elderly folk who have used cannabis oil etc to help with chronic pain. I don't know if its permitted in the state you live in but I think I've heard about it being legal in California.

Sorry if I sound rude, but I never knew NEET could grow so old! I thought they were mainly in their 20's!
