I just started following akb last week, but I'm mostly only watching AKBingo, because is funny as hell seeing cute girls being cute. I have a question, though, I just found out about senbatsu, and noticied that Myao dropped like a fucking stone throughout the years. What the hell happened? She is so damn funny... There's one super depressing episode of AKBingo where it's a discussion between the girls who've never showed up on the show before, girls who only showed up a few times then stopped being invited, or girls who used to show up frequently but stopped being invited and Myao was one of those girls. Also it is sad but things aren't so bad. Watanabe Mayu is still the beautiful traditional idol to this day. Kojima Haruna is still an airhead. Matsui Jurina is still her spunky self despite literally almost dying once. Kashiwagi Yuki had a scandal but she hasn't changed either and I still like her. And some of the new girls are amazing. I really warmed up to them.

I don't know about all that, but the show became incredibly stale. Muramoto is refreshing as fuck as the new MC. He's funnier than both Bad Boys combined IMO and he can make the girls cry without even having to hit them in the head like Sata did. He even made Paruru laugh her ass off.

Well out of all those the only ones left are Mayu and Jurina, both of which do eventually end up leaving the show for incredible stretches of time, only showing up every now and then though Mayu has been on more after the MC change. They're both top idols so they just couldn't fit it in their busy schedules all the time. If you want more of Jurina and Rena check out the SKE Ebi shows, though there is a period where Jurina disappears from literally everything because she was in the hospital for an extended period after collapsing due to overwork, anemia, and malnutrition.

The pies and the powder got incredibly boring after a time but there are some games I hope they bring back. Muchaburi Dodgeball and Shoujiki Shogi are the two I want to see continue. The problem is that more and more there was "talk episodes" showing up, in that it was just the members sitting in their seats talking about the topic. Sure they were usually humorous topics but they weren't actually doing anything other than talking really, or maybe just some low tier game to go with the talking. So far there seems to be less of that with the new MC but it's still there to a degree.

Here's the thing: The Bad Boys got lucky in that they had a crop of really funny and charismatic girls when AKBingo first started. They also did a TON of silly variety games and shit so the inherent weaknesses in the Bad Boys themselves were hidden. It wasn't until those girls started leaving and those silly variety games were being played less and less than the Bad Boys started feeling more and more stale. I'm not entirely blaming them though; I have no idea if they were told to calm down or if they weren't allowed to do all that wacky variety shit they used to, but either way the show became less fun. So eventually they left and were replaced by another comedy duo called Woman Rush Hour (Muramoto and his partner Paradise) and they instantly brought a new sense of freshness and vigor. Muramoto himself is extremely funny. In fact he doesn't even need his partner; he could carry the show by himself even if the girls on the show were fairly dull or uninteresting. That's how entertaining he is. Yes he teases the girls and now and then one of them might cry, but that's how the Bad Boys used to be in the beginning.

Difference is that Muramoto is actually funny and knows when and how to interfere when the girls are talking. I guess the new MC is both like and disliked around here. It's hard for me to say anything for now, for I'm still watching what I suppose is the prime of the show.
