What is Nick even like nowadays? I haven't watched it since the 90s Era when, like the related MTV, it was showing all those weird-ass kind of cartoons. So I'd imagine it'd have a cartoon similar to "AAAH! Real Monsters!" and the Touhous would make sexual references to each other when they could get away with it.

Seriously, I haven't watched it since before Spongebob started airing, so I don't even know what that cartoon is about. I always thought of it as being some dumbed down knockoff of Ren and Stimpy with all of the wacky grossness and none of the substance.

I want to see people trying to play Touhou on Nick Arcade and completely failing though, and then have to go inside that green screen game at the end like they did and have to dodge danmaku for reals.

Have a bunch of secondaries try to answer quiz questions about canon and do minigames for bomb fragments and then have to pick their way through Gensokyo.

Have them scale Youkai mountain for a piece of Sanae's ass.

I'd totally be for seeing a western Touhou. Western cultures have a bunch of neat-ass mythological creatures to waifu the shit out of. Though, I'm pretty sure there'd be a lot more religious strife for said creatures as they're seeking refuge from the Abrahamic religions' influences and the countless choirs of angels that hunt down and destroy blasphemers.

Honestly, I think a Touhou-inspired western cartoon could work. Using danmaku let's you get around the common restrictions against physical violence a lot of channels have (which are dumb, but it's not like you can change the rules). Touhou's basic premise works well as both an episodic series or a serial one. Even the most puritanical mothers and the executives they terrorize couldn't find anything objectionable in Touhou-style charadesign.

Touhou games have been too spatiated, the manga is dull at best, no good music has been put out, and ZUN is simply living on his previous successes.

I will probably have lost all interest in Touhou by the time he does sell out.
