Probably typing in pinyin, or whatever typing method anon is using.

When typing in pinyin, sometimes the characters change. Annoying especially when the specific character you want to type does not appear or changes after typing more pinyin.

To avoid this, carefully input the pinyin one by one, and enter/formalize the character you want to write into the text it so that it doesn't change.

I set my typing to not leave the space.

>> No.15684661

>>15684640
Yeah that's what I would do too but you type the pinyin for the word and then press a number to select the correct 汉字 combination. No space comes in unless I hit the space bar

你的课本有空格的原因只是要让不熟悉中文的读者分辨出语素而已。你在现实世界的中文放空格的话人家会当你脑残。

TC;DR The reason your textbook has spaces for chinese is to allow non-native students to identify which character(s) are separate verbs/nouns/adjectives/conjunctions/etc. If you are actually writing Chinese with spaces in real life, the fluent speakers would think you're a retard gaijin.

The Great Firewall of China since a decade ago has spawn their own different breed of netizens. because of the isolation. I've been there myself (since the firewall doesn't stop foreigners from coming in, just out) and I have to say it's another wild ride that's unique in its own flavour (of poison).

>>15684745
了's most frequent use is to imply an action is "already done". You could say it's the Chinese version of past tense.

For example. 好了 means "It's (already) done", 结束了 means "It's (already) over".

Sometimes 了 doesn't have any meaning, it's a bit like Japanese's "desu". For example 我已经很饿了 or 你已经死了, which are "I am really hungry" and "You are already dead" respectively. In this case there's already a word to describe it has already happened, which is ”已经".
