Literally every single human being, we start being trash, we get better but still are trash, we stop playing for a week and suddenly even our little sister which only knows to mash buttons is a thousand times better. Just because you're too lazy to properly learn the ropes of a game doesn't mean you're worse than anyone else at starting standards.
Just pick up a newbie friendly fighting game (My suggestion is usually SFV), find the character you like the best and play that character and that character *only*, learn his/her BnBs, move onto whiffs, universal combos, aerials, okizeme loops and after a month (Or at least that's how much it took me until I could nail down up to Aoko's kick loop on AACC) you can magically play fighting games like all those little scrawny nerds you see on streams.

As for an easy tip on how to choose your main character when the usual way of "I pick whoever looks more hot/cute/cool" fails is after understanding the difference in offensive, neutral and defensive playstyles (and specifically for Ougon, after learning each character's passive abilities on mizuumi), watch this video and choose which character's combos look most fitting for you.

Searching for what supporting character is best by hand is also a good idea, but if you can't decide, the usual almost spoonfeeding supports are Lucifer and Willard. Lucifer allows you to auto Attack Touch even without following the requirements for it while not using gauge, but you're not picking her for that. You're picking her because she's a fucking autocombo faggot that will ruin every shred of fun your opponent could possibly wish to experience.
Willard on the other hand has the ability to cancel your SP attack into a tier higher SP attack, thus giving you the chance to make punish plays for more damage in less time, in case you won't manage to cause a stagger in time.

It doesn't. A long time ago, I had this far feteshed theory to dismiss the meta by explaning that Lambda and Bernkastel are essentially just fictional creations of Yasu after she read Higurashi. This idea came about when I noticed that Lambda acted like an airhead and seemed to have memories of Satoko. Like when she remembered the sliced cake puzzle by K1 and Bernkastel said it was part of her memories.
Essentially, Lambda is the combination of Miyo and Satoko, the two blond lolis of Higurashi, created by Tohya's bad memories and Bernkastel was created by Yasu who copied Rika from Higurashi.

But this theory was wrong for many reasons and I don't care enough to list them.
