I'm no secondary, but I cant understand anyone loving her.
Due to ZUN I cant really tell what her personality is anymore, it's not consistent. Before it was curious and kind iirc, then she's lazy and apathetic, then she's overly eager about youkai extermination.

Now we havent got a timeline, but I dont think much time has passed since EoSD to now. She's still a teenager no older than 17.

What you have to understand about the Touhou print works is that they are each written from a certain point of view. In WaHH, Reimu is seen mostly as a blundering wannabe businesswoman trying to make a quick and easy dime, because that's how Kasen views her. She is shown as more competent and rather practiced when on familiar ground in FS, wherein she is shown from the perspective of humans. In Three Fairies manga, Reimu is either kind and hospitable or a raging force of nature, because these are the two states of her the fairies understand. Whereas in CoLA, Reimu is an ignorant freeloader with no interest in learning, because that's how she appears from Rinnosuke's point of view (who is a huge nerd himself, and harbours no respect for people who don't share his passions).

You can distil something you could call the "true" Reimu from all of these, and they're all true to some degree. Reimu is a somewhat lazy, miserly shrine maiden with a love for fast get-rich schemes, but she is extremely competent when on the job, and has an unyielding loyalty to Gensokyo.

Most of all, perhaps, you should consider Miko's assessment of her at the end of Symposium: Reimu, possibly more than anyone else, wants Gensokyo to be peaceful (as peaceful as Gensokyo can be). For this purpose she WILL posture and bare her fangs at whoever disrupts said peace, and it can get out of hand at times, but at her core she just wants to live a quiet life.

She can be any of those, but I think the most appearant is that she's commited to her job but also enjoy taking it easy. She's curious when there's incident or something interested her. She's lazy when her intuition tells things should be fine. She's ruthless when solving an incident or someone try to break a stability. She's kind like normal human would to people or creature who is not a threat and treat them with indifference.

Maybe it's just each media focus on different aspect of hers, but to me it's shows that she's not one-dimensional with one quirky personality shoved everytime she appear, but there's still something we can draw from her.
I think it's acceptable if someone has an opinion that she's the most realistically human in the series.

Where you see someone not one dimensional I see someone bipolar with no consistency.
She's just a mash of things and you're trying to blend it all together but it doesn't really work. Mainly because traits are separate, no consistent Reimu carrying all aspects in the stories, just multiple ones who seem disconnected. Hence she's unlovable, you cant love what you dont understand, and lets face it, Zun will just confuse things further like he did saying Ran wasnt a fox.
