Umineko thread
Okay.
588
beato
Is there a decent translation of Hane/Tsubasa out yet?
Which seatcat has the best booty?
>>15603621Hane was translated years ago. There is a patch for Tsubasa as well, but it isn't complete
>>15603637Ange, obviously. Loli, teenager and adult.
It's funny how all the women in Umineko are all worthless except for their bodies.Eva was forced to become a housewife and bear a child to a fat fuck.Natsuhi's parents lost financially to Kinzo and was forced to marry and bear a child to the family who made her parents penniless. Kyrie is smart but threw away her life and future just so that she can be fucked by a single man, even after he got married.Rosa married a nobody who never loved her and bailed on her the moment it got financially difficult. Shannon was taken advantaged of by Battler over a stupid promise and then fell in love with a worthless man who has no spine.Jessica is illiterate, she couldn't even find a boyfriend and was willing to be fucked by a servant. Maria is obscene to the eyes, autistic, retarded and thinks her mother loves her.Beatrice the First was kidnapped by Kinzo, strapped to a bed to be fucked and died in childbirth.Beatrice the Second lived in a cage her whole life and did nothing except become a concubine like her mother for Kinzo and then randomly die.The only woman who isn't remotely shit is Ange, but she was willing to throw her life away and die for something pointless, then lived her life in complete obscurity, only to become famous after she developed cancer.Witches and characters in the meta don't count for obvious reasons.
>>15603740Ikuko isn't worthless, she's a good writer
Not really Seacats, but I removed the sample text this image yesterday. Enjoy, fucking lolicons.
>>15603875Was gonna say there is already the ripped CG but when looking at it now it's not exactly the same.
>>15603893>Mion has to wear a one-piece because of her dumb tattoop o t t e ry
Why is Bern such a cunt?
>>15603982She was forced to act as one.
>>15602864Not really 'disappointed', Umienko is completely worth the ride, and I'll probably replay it one day. I was a little salty at the usage of magic, but I'm still open to the 'White magic = hope, Love' thing. Although someone needs to answer for the massive pile of bodies left over from 1-4 NEVER FORGET MARIA IN EPISODE 3 NEVER EVER EVER>>15602797I guess. Though you can interpret it differently.
>>15603982Because she was the villain that time round. I was wondering if Battler or someone was going to get OVER THE EDGE mad and threaten her about Higurashi or something close to Rika at some point. Of course never happened but I'd love to see her reaction to that
>>15603191I had a dream last night where I was the game master of the entire world and I had a pool party with all of the seacats. I fugged Lucifer when it was bedtime.
I want to fuck Toe
>>15603191Stoic Executioner
Read this review and laugh. He doesn't even know about what he is talking about kekhttp://fuwanovel.net/reviews/2016/07/28/umineko-no-naku-koro-ni-2/
>>15604353>Making a review for the first 4 arcs only>Not even considering the story as a whole>Criticising R07 prose of all things LMAO>Not even giving his opinions and theories about the plot so far>And ultimately saying it isn't a good mystery after all that crapAre you trying to trigger us with this review, anon? Cuz it's fucking working, and I rather imagine it doesn't exist. Also:>fuwanovel review
>>15603765yeah but she's a piece for the worst witch of them all.
>>15604353It isn't that bad. I would say most of the things he criticised are pretty fair
>>15604426I for one only agree about the fight scenes part, but being unrealistic and over-the-top is kinda the point desu
I wonder if Battler would have accepted Yasu if he knew about the whole mutilated genitals and incest thing. I mean, he did take her plan to kill his whole family pretty well
Which maiden would you iron
>>15604781Too bad they are all dead.Damn, Ryukishi really went full massacre mode that time around, he actually killed for real pretty much almost everybody.
>>15604781Drop kick the nutless wonder.
>>15604781That reminds me, didn't Ryukishi say at some point that George would have accepted Yasu If they'd told him? I think Battler or Jessica would have also accepted them.
>>15605307It surprises me George was actually that good of a person. He seemed to be a jerk when his true self was shown in the story.I guess even the worst people can love a certain person that much during their lifes.
Intellectual fapist.
>>15605320Why do people confuse that about George? He used to be a fedora tier cunt and then he ACTUALLY grew into a mature and respectable person.
Let's say this one more time: Magic exists.
>>15605429Prove it.
>>15605429This image was on the news recently.
>>15605320>>15605371George and Jessica are both far less morally bankrupt than their family members, and that was always established since the beginning of the series. George could've easily become a lazy rich boy but he made the best effort he could to be the model husband to a bride that would never take him.
>>15605444For?
>>15605544ISIS shit. A Twitter user with that image for a profile pic was arguing with an ISIS commander online. Basically calling him a faggot. It was kinda hilarious. They did that thing were they overlay the conversation in quotes on the screen and then voice it out. So for like 2 minutes you see that picture and shit talking. There was something relevant about the conversation. I think the ISIS guy had claimed responsibility for some recent atrocity.
>>15605570Ushiromiyas Against Islam
How many lives do you think Nanjo saved?
>>15605738So many.
>>15605738>>15605761Someone remind me how Yasu convinced 3 old people that probably just wanted to spend the last days of their lifes calmly to participate in a convoluted serial killing plan
>>15605781Money.
>>15605781Cunnilingus.
Aren't the old servants rich as fuck?Maybe not Kumasawa but Genji and Nanjo ust have been rich as fuck
>>15605781Pity. And being the new head probably helped.
>>15605781Varying degrees of threats and compensation. Kumasawa's not too right in the head and has her emotional connection to Yasu, Genji doesn't seem to have any sort of individuality to him at all, and Nanjo may have felt some guilt in his involvement with saving Yasu's life.
>>15605781It's been awhile but I think only Genji knew they were actually killing anyone.Kumasawa and Nanjo don't realize until after the murders start that it's real.
>>15605781>>15605985It's never touched upon but you can make a case for Genji resenting the Ushiromiya family for acting like vultures around his master Kinzo's money. And I'm sure he wasn't happy with Krauss and Natsuhi pretending Kinzo was still alive after his death. Genji isn't given much character but if you read between the lines you can see that he at least has true loyalty to Kinzo.
>>15603875I have now upgraded the art.
I'm pretty proud of my Rika upgrade.
>>15606140What do you want, a cookie?
>>15606148That would be nice.
>>15606161
>>15606178Eh, I'd rather get some lip service praise instead.
I hope that if Ryu-chan ever makes another WtC, he brings back Detective Delicious in some form. Man was the boss.
>>15606236I hope so. I really like the guy.
>>15606251Easily my favourite Higurashi character.
>>15606236>>15606251Me tooYou start off quite suspicious of him, but then you learn of the REAL MR. DELICIOUS And he's grat
>>15606236I dunno, his story was rather closed.I like him as a character and subversion of the archetype. He's an old cop who doesn't really play by the rules but still follows them. Old cops are usually rigid while it's the young cops that break the rules.I remember awhile back someone criticizing that anime is idealized to a large degree, with how bland or perfect characters are, and how there aren't really any fat people. Other than that girl from the LWA movie who was fat because her character is that she only eats, most characters are not fat or overweight without it being a joke or them being a father.Oishi is the perfect representation of that. He's his own character, somewhat overweight but still in shape and strong, and it doesn't have any overtly stereotypical points about who he is as a character.God I love Ryukishi as a writer.
>>15605429Ange Milk is literally more popular than Umineko itselfI don't even know what comic she is from
>>15605761So many, that it would be a shame that he had to end yours right now...
>>15606338Such a shame...
>>15606285Agreed. He was sort of menacing, but turns out to be a complete bro.>>15606299Also this. He's a great character and I sort of miss him. Really hopes he gets the Okonogi treatment or something for the next WtC.
>>15606344He throws syringes as shurikens right?I don't know what other powers he might have
>>15606338Pfff, he's just an old man, and a fat one! What could he possible do to me? I'm in the prime of my youth!
>>15606363t. human centipede 2 victim
>>15606363Ah, still so young, so full of life. I remember youth very well.
>>15606350He has an electric stethoscope that can taser his victims.
>>15606363Kick your balls and throw some cupcakes at your face while you pathetically cry in the floor and he laughs at your worthless self, I guess? Hehehe.
>>15606316The artist is rifyu. He used to do a lot of Umineko 4komas.
>>15606417Holy shit this is genuinely fun
What if Nanjo was at an arcade and was beating highscore after highscore at DDR, but he's really cautious with his winnings because he still needs more tickets in order to get the really good prize he wants? It would be a shame to spend, after having saved so many.
>>15606350>He throws syringes as shurikens right? No. Come on man, he's a doctor. He uses doctor equipment! Imagine every tool used in the medical world as his weapons. You have to build him up as though you're a kid making the ultimate badass, that's how Ryukishi would do it.His main weapon is a scalpel; the deadliest and sharpest weapon of all. Imagine him blocking one of those magic swords with his little blade, with perfect accuracy and precision. A single cut will make you bleed eternally and cuts directly into the bone. Other weapons include bandages as ropes, syringes that drain blood, laughing gas that work as smoke bombs and makes everyone laugh for a bit. Acupuncture needles that stop his enemies in their track. Medicine vitamins and sticky bandages can stop bleeding immediately. His main hand to hand fighting style involves chiropracty, where any touch of the body dislocates the bone. Touching pressure points similar to Kenshiro also stops his enemies.>>15606417Now post 'It's maturation time for me too!'
>>15606433>Implying Nanjo is not the most powerful seacats>Implying he's not hiding his almighty power inside his enormous belly.Nanjo: Look at me just being here doing nothing bad. They will never suspect me wahahaha! It's almost too diabolical >:D

What even is Hideyoshi's character? Self-made man with a fake Kansai accent? Loves his wife and son and tends to try and diffuse awkward situations (mainly caused by Eva)?

>>15607092Sometimes it's better to let some things as they are, to let them be more unique. You're not perfect. There's nothing wrong to love yourself and try to be better in what you do, but you don't need to try so hard to be appealing to others (or yourself) Where's the individualism if you're always worrying about what other think you do wrong? There's something pretty about the drawing of a baby even though it's terrible and not perfect at all. Of course I'm saying shit right now because I don't give a fuck about your "art" and I'm falling asleep while writing this so I don't know if it makes sense at all. Night-night. dies
There, fixed, I hope you're happy.>>15607213Fuck that, I am perfect. Or at least as perfect as my abilities allow me to be. Duality demands it of me.The truth is that he saw through my illusion and I like to maintain my illusions.

>>15607257The harshest critic is ones-self
There fixed. Now I think it's a good improvement. >>15607242Just as magicians don't like their tricks to be revealed, I don't like to show how I merged both images together and that anon criticized while correctly guessing my magic and illusion. It was imperfect. It honestly was a bitch to merge together and the effect was that I had to enlarge Rika's head but didn't notice it. Only by correcting the mistake can the illusion seem almost perfect.
Alright, I think I've solved Umineko. As we know from Episode 4, Asumu's stillbirth was also named Ushiromiya Battler. So whenever someone said in red that "Ushiromiya Battler is not the culprit" they were actually talking about the dead babyIt was Battler all along!

>>15609094Who cares about it though? Like honestly. I dare you to look straight into my eyes and say that you read Umineko because of love and not because of delicious gore, trolling and mystery. The first episode had a really cool atmosphere, it genuinely scared me, that feeling of uncertainty and paranoia,,,,,after that I play the other episodes and what do I get? Disgusting romance and fantasy shoved down my throat. I mean yeah, there were some cool parts here and there, episode 3, 5 and 7 Tea Party wasn't as bad as the others......especially fucking 6.

Could someone please upload to Youtube that airplane opening credits from episode 1? Which character do you wish made it into Ougon Musou Kyoku?Other than Kinzo, I just had a thought that Clair could have been a really cool character. Her attacks could be various specific moments from the gameboards popping out of kakera. Like for example a fragment appears and the scene where Eva shoots battler at the end of episode 3 is reflected in it, and the gun fires at the opponent. It could use both magical scenes and what happened in reality as well. She could also use her sword and her meta special could be the bomb exploding the island.
>>15610214I'd want some new characters first and foremost, but it'd also be cool to see Sorcerer BATTLER and ANGE Beatrice.
>>15610214Kinzo for sure as a final impossible boss challenge instead of Black Battler, Gaap might have been interesting, same with Featherine.
>>15610228Featherine would be perfect as a boss only character that is just ridiculously OP.
>>15610214Goat-kun.
>>15610214It would be a shame to end a life after having saved so many, Maria and Gohda.

>>15610214I really wanted Gaap to at least appear other than in the backgroundFurfur and Zepar would also have made "a good character"alternate outfits for rosa and beatrice (pants and skirt)playerbase and popularity
I want to replay Umineko now that I know everything but it's just so fucking long.Maybe I'll just replay the first two episodes.
>>15611816I recommend reading the manga. It's a nice way to experience the series a second time.
>>15609830Haha No>>15611816Skip Episode 6' Logic Error
If I read the manga first and play second have I ruined the experience already?
>>15612144This is how you experience Umineko>Read Higurashi>Read Umineko with the original art and no voices>Read Umineko with the PS3 art and the voices>Read the Umineko mangaThe manga doesn't have the god tier music. You're reading Umineko for the experience and the story, not just the story.
>>15612144Not nearly as much as I did. I watched the anime first. Thanks to that, even to this day the first half of the series seem worse to me than the second half for no other reason than that negative first impression
>>15612163>voicesFuck I've been listening to the music but voices is a whole other thing.
>>15610214Rika that can summon all her nakama in higurashi universe
>>15611885Having the art change between episodes is jarring. Especially because they all peak at the end only to be followed by the clumsy work of the next artist's first chapters.
>>15612387I kind of agree, but at least it's understandable why they did it like that. Even with some of the Episodes running at the same time, it still took 8 years to finish the whole thing, so it would have taken forever if one person were to do all of it Overall I would say that all the Episodes look pretty good though
Holy shit I can't get enough of this wild ride.
>>15612448Don't worry, the ride hasn't yet finished.RGD Season 3 to Mid Season 4 is up there with Umineko ep 5 and Higurashi ep 6.RGD S3 is so damn good it's amazing.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how amazing Kinzo's voice actor is? He was screaming his lungs out in almost all of his scenes, despite being over 60 at the time
>>15612671I-is he still alive?W-was he dead from the start...?
>>15612671I dunno, I would have preferred a more obvious voice actor.
>>15612676This image seems very 'rape-y'.I love it.
>>15612676I need more Erika edits in my life.Preferably a full nude.
>>15612671I think all the voice actors did a good job. I wonder how expensive it was to record everything though. The game is long as fuck, and most of the cast were pretty big names, which costs a lot from what I've heard
Bout to start this series upIs there as much suffering as there was in Higurashi?Because I'd like there to be.And if there isn't, recommend the next series by 07thExpansion that does.
>>15612837Ryukishi said at one of the panels that he chose all the voices himself, so I guess it's his fault that Alchemist went bankrupt
>>15612832I plan to do one once I've gotten some more experience.>>15612863There's arguably even more.
Okay, so I finally finished my newest animation.I wanted to try out some new ideas, and since Shannon is one of the easiest to edit I decided to go with her rather than Beatrice.I tried to animate expressions, breast grabbing, and hardening nipples in addition to the basic jumping bounce. The gif ended up being to large to post here (about 8 mb from slightly over 70 frames) so I converted it to a webm. I'm not sure how well that will work out so I also posted the original gif herehttp://imgur.com/a/5J5JJ
>>15613083In addition to the complicated one, I also made a regular bouncing one.
>>15612863There's not a single character that doesn't suffer.
>>15613117and a breast grabbing one.
>evil devil girl horribly tortures Battler>he just keeps talking about her assclassic ryukishi
>>15613021>>15613119Well that's good to hear
>>15613119Okonogi is doing pretty well for himself.
>>15612863I just played through it on a previous thread, it will meet your expectations.
>>15612837People in vndb (and even Alchemist itself implied this in an interview about the Umineko project some years ago) said it was like the most expensive PS3 port ever made. And I don't doubt it most likely was, at all.RIP Alchemist.
I want to pump and dump Rosa.
>>15613730
>>15613737Making her believe that I can be relied on and trusted, using her body and money, and then ditching her when she least expects it, like all those other men did, would make me feel very good.
>>15610214All of the adults, especially the aunts. They are the reason I love Umineko.Plus I want a Higurashi character as a secret ultimate final OP boss.>>15613119>There's not a single character that doesn't suffer.Genji aint suffering nigga, he is too cool and chill for that.
Is it just more, or does Chiru's music seem worse?
>>15613730I want to pump and pump Maria.
>>15613960The music went downhill in Kai in my opinion too, although given how fucking fantastic the music in Higurashi 1-4 was that's not saying much
>>15614115>still no album of Higurashi 1-4It's like they hate money
>>15614126the Kai album was missing a bunch of stuff too, like ZERO
>>15613960>>15614115Wholeheartly disagree.Umineko music is fantastic overall, and Chiru tracks are my favorites.
>>15612832Full nudes are beyond my ability and patience, and I prefer busts because they're suggestive and leave a lot to the imagination.
>>15613960It doesn't. It's just that 60% of the best tracks are at EP1-4.>>15614115Higurashi doesn't even have that many great tracks in general imo.Umineko in other hand has more than 160 tracks I would rate 4-5/5. And this isn't even the whole OST.>>15614144I kinda prefer the question arcs OST, but I do think Umineko has the best OST from any 07th Expansion VN so far (or any VN so far, really).OST is god-tier in here.

>>15614202Either way, keep up the good work. It's nice to see other people doing edits too. And your most recent pieces have been showing some definite signs of improvement.
>>15614226>>15614242THIS!
How many songs does the Umineko soundtrack actually have? I was really surprised how many songs there were the first time I read it, and there are even lots of unused songs from some of the CDs
>>15614226You are missing my favorite one, man. And it's absolutely beautiful too. Here, let me add:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO9AKnb1vww
>>15614282More or less 200 tracksA bit more if you count the alternative versions, image songs, openings, etc...
is there actually anywhere to get the umineko/higurashi disks? The PC ones, not the ps3.They don't seem to be on any of the links on the 07th expansion website
>>15614293I bought mine on amazon for a very reasonable price.
>>15614282I have 192 tracks in my player along with separate albums of unused ones by pre-holder and xaki. I'm pretty sure I've got it complete unless there's something I somehow overlooked, but I haven't run across a track yet that I don't have other than some vocal versions of certain songs.
>>15614115>>15614126>fantastic music in Higurashi 1-4Literally one of the most amateur soundtracks ever. That is, if you are talking about the original version. The ps2 version is WAY better,
>>15614414I will call samefagging on him. There can't be two people in here that actually think that 07th Expansion music didn't got better progressively. Not "that" coincidentally.
>>15614444>Oh no! Other opinions! Held by multiple people?
>>15614462>implying it isn't pretty easy to photoshop thatthe other threads should have shown that to anyone already.
>>15614414The original used royalty free songs, which is why they're so shit for the most part. I'm really happy that Ryukishi got dai on board eventually
>>15614484>hurf durf people who disagree are samefags>>15614487>why they're so shitTerrible opinion >Dai is a good thingObviously.
>>15614498>hurf durf people who disagree are samefagsNever said that, it's just your case in particular that seems rather suspicious (not to say the time of each publication above). But whatever, not like that matters, I just still am pretty sure is samefag-ism.>>15614487dai is a bless for 07th Expansion's OST indeed.I 'hope' to see much more from him.
>>15614528A composer as good as he is deserves to be making money. I hope he and the rest of the artists of the soundtrack are successful.
>>15614551I haven't kept track of Dai. Has he done anything recently?
Holy shit I only now just learned that Battler's VA is the same as Akasaka's! That's awesome.
>>15614583HOLY FUCK and he also has the same voice actor as Jotaro! Just imagining the two of them pointing after saying "Dame, zen zen dame da zen" and "Yare Yare Daze" simultaneously.
>>15614562http://mgraveyard.com/zutto_futari/I don't know what this is, but it was released a few months agoThe last VN soundtrack he did was Higurashi Hou though, since he pretty much only does music for 07th Expansion
>>15614226>no LastendconductorNigga, that one is the most awe-inspiring and explosive song in the soundtrack. It's a fucking remix of Resurrected Replayer, Dreamenddischarger, Worldenddominator and maybe a few others.
>>15614583Kanon is Satoshi, Bern is Rika and Eva is Miyo as well. I don't remember if there are more shared voices between the two
>>15614226>forgetting the besthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_UHO60tkdg
>>15614644No, Takano is Eva, Miyo is Lambda.Miyo's voice is when Takano was a loli.Maria is also Hanyuu.
>>15614644>>15614653I knew those ones, only one I didn't know was Battora being Akasaka.
>>15614598And Ronove is best JoJo, Joseph.
>>15613960I dunno, a lot of the music didn't feel memorable in Chiru. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXv-h5WIMmsLastendconductor is supposed to be this epic like worldend dominator or dreamenddischarger but it's just kinda meh. There's still some great tracks but not to the level of Ep 1-4>>15614115I agree with >>15614414 to a certain degree. The thing is that Higurashi's music for Ep 1-4 are literally free music tracks Ryukishi found on the internet. So they are amateurish but I would argue that they fit the tone intended of the story. So when Dai gets into the picture and he's godlike, the music quality jumps tenfold. >Dai sends a letter to Ryukishi>hey, I read your VNs, they're pretty good but your music kinda suck>Oh? Do you think you can do better? And then Dai proved he could do better.>>15614661>Battora being Akasaka. That can't be true.>>15614668It's more like Battler and Ronove are a switch up of Kyon and Koizumi gayness in Haruhi.
>>15614698When the violin starts up at 1:02 it just screams "everything has been leading up to this" to me.
>>15614226>no one even posted lixaxilcmon guys.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiUjogfu2Kw
>>15614752My nigger.
>>15614752Not one of my favorites tbqhwyf
>>15614777>he doesn't like guitar with trance
>>15614644>>15614653Virgilia is also Akane. Okonogi is a bit of a strange case. He has the same voice actor in the PS2/PS3 ports, but in both of the anime adaptations he has the same voice as Krauss
>>15614821Are the two Okonogis supposed to be the same person, or is it just another case of Ryukishi using the same "actor"?
>>15614866It's definitely implied that they're the same. This is implied even further in the manga (and Sui) where Amakusa works for Yamainu and gets raped by Satoko
>>15614866In WTC, all cases of using the same "actor" means its the same character or related in some shape or form. Okonogi is Okonogi. Bernkastel is all of the dead Rikas.Lambdadelta gave miyo the "power to become a god, with certainty. Not sure of their relation beyond that.
>>15614895Oh yeah and Takano in hotarubi is Takano.
>>15614895>Bernkastel is all of the dead Rikas. What exactly is this relationship anyway? Rika made it out of the loop. Surely then she's "free"?
>>15614895Butler is Battler?
>>15614908Bernkastel is born out of all the negative memories collected by Hanyuu to give Rika a higher fighting chance. Although this was done to help Rika, it had a secondary objective which was to accumulate so that it might form another personality within the borders of the meta and the real world, so that Hanyuu could have a friend to talk to. This is also shown in the manga when Rika talks to a Rika lookalike who doesn't seem to have a name for herself. In Rei, Rika gets into an accident and wakes up in an alternate world. Rika realizes that her accumulated jumping kakera and 100 year journey has made her different from the original Rika from where she began. She names herself Furuderika Bernkastel, based off the wine she keeps drinking. After Rika figures a way out, Hanyuu tells her that it was all a dream and that she now has a new friend, but refuses to say who it is.One thing to consider is that Rei's world is not an alternate world but actually a dream. While Hanyuu emphasis and pushy reply makes the reader think that perhaps it was real, there is a single element outside of the catbox that changes all variables, namely that Rika was not the 8th generational birth but the 9th. Meaning that 9 generations ago in the Furude family leniage, someone ended up being a girl instead of a guy. This far change is not something that could have been changed within the gameboard catbox, like Featherine helping Miyo at the beginning of the story.Secondly, Hanyuu was bored. For 1000 years, she had no one to talk to and then tragedy happened to Rika. Hanyuu had to suffer being bullied for 1000 years and didn't want Rika to die because it would condemn Hanyuu to a torture of solitude for eternity. So Hanyuu collected the negative memories of Rika into a being we now know as Bernkastel, but who didn't have a name. During the events of Rei, Rika named her jumping kakera personality Furuderika Bernkastel and then later accepted that she only had one life and should cherish it. This created the disconnect between Rika who jumps kakera and Rika who accepted her one life. Bernkastel is essentially the worst parts of Rika who never got a happy ending and resents Rika for being happy. Bernkastel broke out of her confinement by Featherine and traveled the meta to destroy any hope she could find. Also, Bernkastel wants to die.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2KbybRxJLQ
>>15614912Yes and no. Butler is a joke. See, the Kanji for Battler can be written as Battler or Butler. So you have basically the same actor as Battler but with a different name. And hilariously enough, he also has an imouto named Ange.
>>15614963Oh wow Hanyuu is a complete cunt. >Jumping KakeraFragment jumping?
>>15614912I said in When They Cry.Rose Guns Days isn't WTC.
>>15614993Yes, same thing in my view.
>>15615001That has nothing to do with anything.Buttler is the same actor as Battler.
>>15615008The difference is that the ones in Higurashi/Umineko/Hotarubi aren't the same actors for different characters. They are literally that character or related to that character in some way.
>>15615016Also makes me wonder just how related to WTC Trianthology will be.Are NotBernkastel, NotBeatrice and NotShannon literally those characters/related in some way or are they just the same actors playing different roles? The fact that we have a NotShannon AND NotBeatrice and that all 3 of them are in the same story makes me think there might be a connection.
>>15615025It might be related, but probably not to the same extent that Hotarubi is. Ryukishi said last year that he was planning to continue the WTC series, but he didn't know which format yet, so it definitely isn't directly part of the same series, since TRT has been in the works since 2012
>Trianthology will be released in excatly one monthI've waited for it so long, it almost feels unreal at this point
>>15615082>winter 2014I'm extremely excited.
>>15615086>the story becomes a tragedy yet againNo, Ryukishi not again!
>>15614963I swear even in a good ending like Higurashi, Ryukishi just has to leave some character in the 'eternal suffering' box
>>15615115Well Higurashi is a mostly good ending for everyone. The total death count by the end of the story is -2.
>>15614963So, Rika named herself Bern because she's different than the Rika she overtakes in every fragment, and eventually hanyuu made that personality a separate entity?
>>15615140Close, Rika named herself Furuderika Bernkastel because she's different than the Rika she overtakes in every fragment, and through the 100 year journey to happiness, Hanyuu collects all the bad memories that form a separate entity that accepts the name gives to herself. Here's a chart that may or may not be helpful.
>>15615140I think the personality finally separated after the whole 'murder your parents to come back' thing. That and maybe abit of help from Hanyuu.
Shit's confusing yo.
>>15615159>>15615153And because Ryukishi keeps writing more Higurashi, shit's going to get more confusing.
>>15615153>ass kicking whoreWho is this? I don't recognize this character
>>15615174She's from Rose Guns Days
>>15615174>he hasn't read Rose Guns DaysYou should do it, it's a wild ride. The first Season starts weak until the midpoint where the mini boss gets defeated and the real first boss shows up. Then it keeps being good until the mid point of Last Season.Season 3 is arguably as great as ep 5 of Umineko and ep 6 of Hgiurashi. It's honestly worth reading for the villains alone.
>>15615177Oh. >>15615183>>15615183>Season 3 is arguably as great as ep 5 of Umineko and ep 6 of Hgiurashi.I've ignored it because it wasn't WTC. Might give it a shot
>>15615153I don't remember Bernkastel being made of bad memories. The way I remember it is that every time a Rika gets murdered they get shunted into a the original Rika that Hanyuu pulled out of the original fragment, and a copy of that Rika overwrites the Rikas in the worlds she 'jumps' to, and the original Rika became Bernkastel when she realized that since the last Rika never got murdered, she (the template) could never escape her fate and she got all emo over it and then Featherine taught her Being a Cunt 101.
>>15615192Just makes sure you push through Season 1. It really does start off slow, making you wonder why you're reading, with none of the characters clicking or being interesting, but trust me, when the first real villain shows up, it gets really good really fast.>>15615201Bernkastel is the literal opposite of Rika in every way.
>>15615192Rose Guns Days Season 3 is insane and absolutely worth reading.Keikaku jew cultural manipulation warfare. It's absolutely ridiculous. And one of the villains will make you scream as hard as you did at the end of ep 3 of Umineko.
>>15615221>Keikaku jew cultural manipulation warfare.I sense the influence of Kojima in here somewhere Anyhoo I'm DL this now, hopeful lives up his previous work
>>15615207She's a lot like early/mid-Kai Rika. Also, she had her hopes smashed into dust and she's been mentored by fucking Featherine for god knows how long.
>>15615201>I don't remember Bernkastel being made of bad memories.Same, always thought she was every memory Rika had, which are already bad because she dies in every single world except the last one. And she, the personality who remembers all the worlds is unneeded in the last one because endless june is over.
>>15615109Did you de the opening? At one point you see photographs of all the main characters, then they're eyes are crossed out with marker like in those murder case reports by the police, then they get fucking scribbled all over with blood splattered on them. They're all going to die fucking horrible terrible deaths with no mercy.
>>15615301>They're all going to die fucking horrible terrible deaths with no mercy.Ahhh Ryukishi is so much fun.
>>15615301Nah, just seen it>Bern out of fucking nowhereAfter just finishing Umineko, it's an abstract level of suffeirng >>15615322>When they cry, I laugh
>>15615337There's also a NotBeato and NotShannon in there.
>>15615337>watch the TRT trailer>huh cool>Bernkastel's face flashes for a second>wait wait, what?>holy shit, it's bernkastel, what the fuck is going on?It's like my mind played played a joke on me and it ended up real.Does anyone have the Bernkastel dance?

I want Battler to date Bern!
>>15615632It's different backgrounds for each story. This one has illustrations, Ryukishi's has shitty 3d backgrounds and the other one has the pictures.
>>15615703C'mon now, we all love those shitty 3D backgrounds. It's like a Silent Hill-esque MLA.
Okay I know I said that I wouldn't post about Rose Gun Days until I finished Season 1But I was lying. Anyway; what in the sam hell is going on? Am I reading some Right-Wing Japanese dystopia fiction? I get that it's set in an alternative universe, but really this seems to be going out of its way to say how fucked Japan is with Migrants.

>>15616094Angel Densetsu. I noticed that I read the manga a few times but just remembered that the author leaves a few words at the beginning of the volume, so I had a quick reread of it again and noticed these words from the author about Reality and illusion. You guys talk a lot about BGMs you liked, but what's your favorite?
>>15616481Answer is, without a doubt, my favorite. It's used in the prelude of ep 2 when Beatrice is arranging the chessboard and Battler proclaims he will never give up.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U209xHIvW8I'm a sucker for piano.

>>15616580That's not a track, that's a song!
I have to say, ep VIII Manga really highly how much he failed to deliver Yasu's issue in the VN and how much he needs a competent editor.
>>15605781>Someone remind me how Yasu convinced 3 old people that probably just wanted to spend the last days of their lifes calmly to participate in a convoluted serial killing planGenji is insane and devoted to him. He actually knew about the whole plan and kills quite a few people.Kurasawa think it was a Fake Murder Mystery (Same as Eva in Episode I)Fatty probably thought it was a Fake Murder Mystery at FIRST, but quickly realize things went really, really wrong. At that point he sticks to Yasu hoping to survive.
How does Yasu successfuly makes 3 different voices?

>>15614963>so that Hanyuu could have a friend to talk to.I don't think that was her intention, more like a side effect. Hanyuu already has Rika, she spent 7 generations praying for her!>One thing to consider is that Rei's world is not an alternate world but actually a dreamThat's debatable. Granted, ultimately for Rika it doesn't matter. It's entirely possible she dies in Matsuribayashi-hen Kakera (which it's... fucking depressing if you think about it), then Hanyuu resets thing but she (accidentally?) transferred in the "miracle" kakera Bern created at the end of Kai and then transferred again when she kills her mom.Or it could be just a dream, whatever it floats you boat.
>>15615086If WTC3 ever appears, I'm banking on the most retarded solution ASAP.Fool me once...
>Kyrie Eleison>Lord, have mercy.>Kyrie>The LordI think Kyrie was actually God, who in all His magnanimousness decided to put the unclean heathens from the Ushiromiya family into a test for redemption. Kyrie used His messengers, Maria and Yasu (it's a reference to Iesu - i.e. our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ) to deliver His message and to put forth the test. However, the Ushiromiyas, being a representation of all the sins, refused to listen to our Lord's merciful message, and thus, sadly, they had to be punished, and Rokkenjima became another Sodom and Gomorrah. Not all of them were a lost case. There were 2 good sheep who deserved salvation. One of them was Eva. However, she had fallen prey of many sins, and thus, our Lord left her without her Adam. In addition, she had to atone for her sinful ways for the rest of her life. The other survivor was Battler, which would be a representation of Job. At the end, after seeing how the Lord - who all gives - took everything away from him, and accepted it, he was rewarded with a new life. And thus, Battler died, and Tohya was born. Together with his new partner, they write Christian stories to spread the word of our Lord.As for Ange, she was viral marketing for hamburgers, nothing to see there. This, my dear friends, is the truth behind Rokkenjima.
>>15616812But wouldn't Battler be Witches Christ?
>>15616743>I don't think that was her intention, more like a side effectA side effect she took advantage of with no regards of the persona she created. How would you feel if your entire existence was made of up shitty memories and your entire purpose was simply to entertain this person?>Hanyuu already has Rika, she spent 7 generations praying for her!You think too little. What happens after Rika dies? Hanyuu will have no one to talk to and will have to wait for another 8 generations in a row of girls to have a friend again. If Rika ever gets married and has children, obviously. The Furude line is rather small.>transferred in the "miracle" kakera Bern created at the end of Kai and then transferred again when she kills her mom. That's a common misunderstanding. How does saving Miyo by telling her to go find her parents end up making a person 9 generations ago change gender? Also, in the manga, it's shown that Miyo is with her grandfather who actually got funded. This implies that Miyo's parents still died. This is not the miracle kakera at the end of the story.Everything points to it being simply a dream
>>15616844I think you're conflating Hanyuu and Rika way too much, especially in terms of power and personality.
>>15616844I think you're conflating Hanyuu and Featherine way too much, especially in terms of power and personality.
>>15616844>A side effect she took advantage of with no regards of the persona she created. How would you feel if your entire existence was made of up shitty memories and your entire purpose was simply to entertain this person?Well, it's not like Hanyuu had much of a choice if she wanted Rika to survive, didn't she?>You think too little. What happens after Rika dies? Hanyuu will have no one to talk to and will have to wait for another 8 generations in a row of girls to have a friend again. If Rika ever gets married and has children, obviously. The Furude line is rather small.Doesn't Hanyuu plan to die/go to sleep when Rika die of old age? I do recall something like that. (I find interesting that their sense are connected)Either way, what I'm saying is that Bern creation was a side-effect that something she didn't plan to. It's not like she had any idea Rika was going to be killed by Tanako and once the loop started, it was too late to stop. (Rika also wanted to live, it isn't much later until she goes in zero-fuck mode)Hainyuu maybe be a tiny selfish, but she's not mean spirited and incredibly lonely. Also, at the end of Kai she gets over her fear of human, doesn't she?>That's a common misunderstanding. How does saving Miyo by telling her to go find her parents end up making a person 9 generations ago change gender? Fair enough, didn't think of that. >Everything points to it being simply a dreamExcept Rika getting run over? Plus if we go by the mechanic on how Bern is created, doesn't she get the memories of Rika every time she dies? How would she get the memory of Rika creating the name Bernkastel if she does that for the first time ever in Rei "dream"?
Remember that Battler canonicaly kisses a trans heroine.
>>15616903Its ok if s/he's cute!
>>15616895>How would she get the memory of Rika creating the name Bernkastel if she does that for the first time ever in Rei "dream"?Well, I can think of two ways. First, Hanyuu gave the dream to both Bern and Rika.Second, Bern is already a witch at this point and watched Rika's dream from the outside with magic.
>>15616903>Remember that Battler canonically kisses a person that used to exist in a body whose junk may or may not have matched her gender, and currently exists in a body made of unicorn farts and pixie dust.
Torso reused for convenience/lazinessCornelia is cyute
>>15615790It specifically warned you at the beginning that it may trigger people who aren't japs.>>15615207>Just makes sure you push through Season 1I personally fucking dropped it because I couldn't care less about the generic characters and the MC was fucking OP.Plus shoving down idiotic things down my throat every minute>wahh women suffer just as much as men>even though they can fuck their way up to the top but it doesn't matter! They suffer!!!Give me a break, I get it already.
>>15616895>Doesn't Hanyuu plan to die/go to sleep when Rika die of old age? That's not how it works. Hanyuu essentially grows up along with Rika, and she existed before Rika was born so we can assume the same thing happens after Rika will die. Hanyuu lives on in the border between the meta and the physical world.>Bern creation was a side-effect that something she didn't plan to.I think she knew full well of the side effect and it was a double bonus for her.>Except Rika getting run over?Getting run over was part of the dream.>>15617055As I said, you have to push through Season 1, the beginning is not really that good. Plus, after all this bullshit fake woman have it worse, some actual misogynist show up and call all of their bullshit. It's fun to watch>wahhh women have it hard!!!>fuck you, you just open your legs>b-but we work hard>uh huh, I'm going to cut you and let's see if anyone will sleep with you no matter how hard you workJust read to at least Season 3 and push through Season 1.
>>15617055I think Leo was overly cool the only way a shonen protagonist can be. Saying one liners, always being cool and everything. The story wisely knew that he was too OP and relying on him to expand the mafia, so it had to force him out.

>>15618697And just to end this all, Umineko is legitimately complex as a whole. We talked about that to death in the last two-three threads or so after some stupid moogy cock-sucker started shitposting around.

>>15618781What does moggy mean?
>>15618814From what I heard, he is some elitist from vndb that thinks high of some porn games like they were some second come of Christ or something. He pretty much bashed Umineko without even understanding it and now it's in denial of even talking about it with anyone, because his pride is just too much for he himself to handle. Not so long ago a bunch of people shit-talked him in the thread for many hours because of a reddit post.
>>15618833People bashing Umineko is nothing new, during ep. VII and VIII is was pretty standard stuff.Everyone was laughing their ass off the quality of the solution and the ending. Most of them moved on, though.
>>15618833>elitistHeh, sounds like a funny person. A typical buffoon.>a bunch of people shit-talked him in the thread for many hours because of a reddit post. Here? I don't remember something like that happening. I probably missed it or wasn't paying too much attention. Oh well, thanks.
>>15618810>you call people retards and you think the maid pretending to be 3 different people is somewhat a functional, intelligent solutionFirst of all, 2 different people. Second of all, He/She had the backup of the servants while acting as Kanon (which is why there's very little interactions of his with anyone else other than those).Third of all, the fact he/she can be seen as very androgynous person just adds to the plot point nobody knows about his/her actual gender. All that said, my only actual nitpicking about this whole situation is that, different from George, who pretty much never interacts with Kanon, Jessica interacts with Shannon quite often, so, either she is just as stupid as her father, or Yasu's make up is actually that good. And believe me, people can transform themselves in little less than an hour or so in something completely different, depending of their appearances (a cosplayer friend of mine confused my dick quite a bit with this kind of stuff). A wig, some makeup and different clothing (+fake breasts) and different voice (which is pretty much completely possible, especially if, just like you well exemplified, can do voices for male and female characters without problem as a VA (and this happens A LOT, even while Umineko was supposedly happening in 1986). It's all what you really need to pretend being another person successfully. Nothing really impossible at all (what about that US Army guy from many years ago who didn't even used plastic surgery and pretty much impersonated with some of that stuff more than 5 people in a military meeting (heard of that in an italian magazine many years ago)? You should look at the real world a bit more, stuff like this isn't only not ridiculous, but pretty much 100% possible.>>15618879Nah, most of them found genius as it actually is, while others still continue to persistently bash it whenever they can, like you for example. Just get out of the thread already.
>Shkanon/Yasu + servants>Kyrie/RudolfHeh, lots of dumbasses here. There is only one killer in Umineko and it is pretty obvious who it is.
>>15618905>First of all, 2 different people. 3 people. She appears as Beatrice in episode IV in front of Battler. And Rokkenjima prime too, Battler doesn't realize she's Shannon until she accidentally makes her Shannon's voice.>A wig, some makeup and different clothingLmao, Yasu doesn't even use makeup. Confirmed by Jessica who points out during a scene Shannon was the only servant without makeup. How would she switch makeup during the family conference anyway?Looks like R07 bad pacing and filers hit you too!>in little less than an hour or so in something completely different,Funny, he probably had minutes during ep I-IV to change to Shannon to Kanon.> It's all what you really need to pretend being another person successfully. So you DO have Prosopagnosia! It's only possible to disguise yourself as a different person by subverting people expectation of you, using a different enviroment and heavily modifying your face (A beard for example does the trick) and being a good actor.Shannon disguising herself as Beatrice is possible, although hard to swallow, because Beatrice is a blonde busty woman with blue hairs that doesn't dress like Shannon and she's in a different context. Although, making another voice, a completely different one is HARD. Also, Shannon is asian and Beatrice... is not. Shannon and Kanon don't use make up, lives in the same enviroment as Shannon, makes the same work as Shannon, interacts with the same people as Shannon and HAS THE SAME DAMN FACE.So not only Shannon makes a completely different voice as Beatrice, she ALSO makes a completely different one as Kanon, WHILE acting in character all the time, because she's just that much of a good actress.I'm not even sure she uses a wing, Yasu hairs and face during the scene in which she realizes she's a boy are basically Kanon, if anything it is Shannon who should wear a wig. Anyone with a brain who interacted with them in 2 minutes would realize they are the same person. They have the same face, the same hairs, work in the same environment, never appear together despite talking about each others all the time. Anyone would realize they a same fucking person.>You should look at the real world a bit more, stuff like this isn't only not ridiculous, but pretty much 100% possible.LMAO.>Nah, most of them found genius as it actually isHey newfag, stop lying. The Shkanon hysteria during ep VI and realizing R07 used one of the most cheap trick in existence was hilarious. > Just get out of the thread already.MODS HELP
>>15619016>Yasu doesn't even use makeupI'm pretty sure that the manga says she used makeup as a disguise
>>15619016Dude, I'm like 90% sure that the guy that keeps replying to you is the only person here who cares about your ranting.
>>15619016Might as well talk to a wall at this point.I guess a lot of people have a massive prosopagnosia crysis at the same places as imposters then.It doesn't matter if it is the same face. If you are disguised well enough, that is.>LMAOAnd I'm the new fag. top kekAlso, Yasu uses make-up.I'm pretty much done with you, not gonna bother in replying your stupid shit.
>>15619016To be fair 'the butler did it' was probably the lamest fucking things he could have done. But at the end of the ride I'm satisfied. The whole thing is pretty surreal anyway
>>15619038>I'm pretty sure that the manga says she used makeup as a disguiseWell, the novel Jessica says Shannon is not using it. Not that a bit of holster changes your face.Even then, this requires her apply make up, remove it, then apply it in some situations in a matter of seconds.
>>15619051>Battler graBs Kanon by the collar, their face centimeters apart>He doesn't recognize Shannon face.G E N I U S
>>15619075Well, I'm gonna reply this one since the other anon got triggered, because it's actually simple enough (the image).>Kanon bribed Eva and Hideyoshi, and they got everyone to close the crime scene after some bitching and nobody besides them got a look at Shannon's "body">Nobody told Rudolph h was going to die, he said that himself, most likely because Kyrie is a psycho, and he was gonna tell her about Battler being her son.As for the quote, Battler probably didn't even have that in mind at the moment, as he was blinded by rage. And that's not even it. his desguise as Kanon ans Shannon could fool people in the same house for years with the help of the servants, I doubt he would realise that only by approaching Yasu a bit more. That instead would be stupid.I also agree that moon-chan must be pretty stupid for not realising the relation between her best servant friend and the guy she likes tho Not that we actually know how did she disguised himself anyway. as we never see the whole process she has been practising for sometime in the story
>>15619058>matter of secondsNot at all. Yasu has a very free schedule because of the servants backing him up (I'm assuming it is a he, since it makes much more sense like that, especially with the "it's a trap" trope), so, it's pretty much confirmed he always had the time to do his stuff. Also, about all the things said in EP 7, wasn't the appearance of the characters a plot point as well? iirc, we don't even know who Shannon and Kanon actually look like, and the images are just a representation of a sort created from Battler's old memories while reading the manuscripts, meaning she most likely ressembled Lion instead, which would be even more understandable for people to arrive at the conclusion no one could actually tell his genre appart.I dunno, just giving my two cents now that I'm re-reading the whole thing.

We know that because of the line "I'll give you the blonde hairs Battler will like"Whatever you believe meta-world and the sea of Kakera was real, Lion look in the game is just Yasu idealized self. The manga pretty much shows how Yasu looks, no fancy tricks.

It doesn't make people NOT recognizing her face LESS stupid. >>15619263>Triggered anon can come back now, don't cry again thoI never left, R07 cocksucker. Also men have easier time disguising themselves because they can rely on stuff life beard which significantly alter facial recognition. If Yasu tried to disguise herself as Nanjo long lost less fat, bearded brother it would make more sense.Heck, even Agatha Christie wrote some "disguise story", but she did much better than R07 and most of the disguised as other people people for a couple of minutes.
>>15618905>Nah, most of them found genius as it actually isNot even a part of this argument, but no, when spoilers for EP7 first came out, nobody liked it, same went for EPs 6 & 8. Everyone was convinced EP7 was an elaborate fake, and people didn't even like its soundtrack at first.
>>15619297Triggered anon is the one who left the discussion with you, hater anon. You can't be that autistic not to notice this part:> (still trying to find that military case YOU told us about, but I've only found like 5 similar desguising stories that happened in the last century)
This is getting fun.>>15619297Omg seriously what is your problem? At least you can try to act a little less offensive towards the other anons. We're all here to learn, have fun and being silly, you don't need to get so upset. Not the same anon you were talking to.
>>15619297> It doesn't make people NOT recognizing her face LESS stupid.Heh, you would be surprised by some shit happening in the real world, where actually inteligent and well regarded people got fooled by someone with the same face, and different disguises.I doubt no one anymore, I imagine meeting with one of these imposter guys in a party just to see how crazy would it be.
>>15619299In fact.We only began to actually understand the whole thing the second time around reading, and the intense hate pretty much stopped when the manga came out.The first time around I'm pretty sure 90% of this whole community was hating on Umineko.
>>15619380More like people hated it and moved on, Umineko lost most of its appeal to people when the mystery turned out one of the most cheap tricks a mystery author can employs.

>>15619437>Nowadays the Umineko fanbase has nothing but good things to say about the thing as a whole. And of course, I'm not including assholes like you as part of it.That's because most people left and turned against Umineko. Umineko was a phenomenon back then. Where is the random Erikafag... or the nudes-anon when we need them.this whole discussion is just pointless, and we repeated it so many times it makes me wanna give links for older threads with the very same topics.Stephen King was right. Repetition is the true hell-

>>15619626It's a fair point, part of the point of Umineko is that we don't know the one truth. At least it was in the VN, until the Manga came and murdered subtly. >>15619620I think that anon is pissed that there wasn't more hints. >>15619740Yeah, but manga also seems to hint the sea of fragments is real.
>>15619754It's hinted at later as well, after the drowning scene

episodes 6 and 7 themselves are literally the answer arcs to the entire series, they practically give you the answersand they really do in episode 7 when Will broke down the Witch's Illusion from the first 4 episodes
>>15615858>>15608081>>15616044>>15617008Where does theses naked sprites come from?
>>15619883>and they really do in episode 7 when Will broke down the Witch's Illusion from the first 4 episodesIt was just a bunch of really cryptic shit that didn't explain much. The manga broke it all down, but the VN didn't.
>>15619926As cryptic as it was, they broke down everything in the VN, the manga was just 100% explicit and with zero crypticism
>>15619912Edit anons
>>15619847If you weren't such a newfag you should know many jokes about Kanon and Shannon were made during those days because how silly it was.>>15619926The truth about Shkanon and what happened to Rokkenjima was really obvious. Once you realize everything was just Yasu turning her personas on and off, the rest are just re-treats of common mystery tricks. What the VN did poorly is explaining Yasu chartists and the various meta-narratives just muddles an already complicated narrative further, R07 tried to bite more than he could chew. You could see that during ep VI+ were people started to throw the most crazy theories because they felt even the red text started to become misleading.
>>15620007The VN explained everything very well and properly. In a second reading through, the foreshadowing is so obvious it's just ridiculous really. The problem is that, it was too difficult to understand and deciphrate every single plot point even then.Serial Experiments Lain came to mind for a bit, since the presentation is just so crazy.Actually, using an actual mystery title, the manga Soil from Kaneko comes to mind even more.Soil is like Asano writing Umineko on drugs though. In any case, he presented every single element about Yasu by the first 3 episodes, and the other episodes served as more and more revealing complements about the whole thing surrounding her.The Episode 8 manga did a nice job taking all that content and making it fully explicit (and just to add a nice bonus, it even got us Confession of the Golden Witch, that is all that composes the story thus far in an actually readable non-symbolic format (which in my opinion both is a cool addition to the series, and kinda ruins a sweet point from the VN, which would be the game between the author and the readers, which was supposed to mean them discovering everything for themselves with the hints gave through the story). That said, I have nothing against the manga, unlike many fans out there, but I do prefer the VN over it and its extra mystery layer in the mackerel cake the Seacats experience is.
>>15620071Umineko's presentation is a abstract but still straightforward with the information given. I don't know how the hell you're feeling Lain as a comparison.
>>15620071>The problem is that, it was too difficult to understand and deciphrate every single plot point even then. The problem is that a lot of plot points can be read in 5 different ways according to people. I was one of the people who agreed that Yasu was a boy who lost his junk, but for each of me you got 5 other people who interpreted each scene in 5 different ways.Add to this that the VN is long, fucking long. Some people found Ep. 2 fucking beginning and "dilemma" fucking boring. His catharsis is also hidden within so many fantasy scenes that it's hard to connect for a lot of people.
>>15620085Yeah, I think you are right (Lain just reminded me because it was pretty crazy until the big reveal, aka wired plot point, compared to the layered world and tohya's reveal plot point in Umineko, for example). The best comparison would actually be Soil really.
I'd almost forgotten about this piece I started a while ago, so I decided to finish it real quick. It's from the artbook scans rather than the sprites, so the texture may look a little weird. Sorry about that. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy.
>>15620392Add a slit.
>>15620392Also, if possible, and if it doesn't take too much time, could you remove the white part of the shirt?Though since it's a scan and not from the game, I don't think it's worth it.
>>15620392>>15620540Something like this is what I originally had in mind of their lewd design.
>>15620531>>15620540I'll be doing a fully nude version of the sprite eventually, This is just a piece that I started before the steam release but never got around to finishing until now.
>>15620582That's fine. And it looks pretty good.
>>15620578So just leave the gold trim and the red parts? I could probably do that once I've made the nude version, although I'd probably tighten some parts of it so that they hug her body rather than floating in the air
Is this the Truth?
>>15620631No.
>>15620607Well, you don't need to leave the gold trim and red part. If you do a full body nude like the rest, I'll just add them myself.
>>15620644>>15620631Little bit of both. All the murder theories are true and they all tried to kill each other at the same time, BB made it out, Eva survived through dumb luck and blew the mansion out of grief
What was the deal with the letters with the bank money in the future?I don't remember the reasoning behind them
I wonder...What is the relationship between Hanyuu and the meta? I mean she can create witches. If she above the witch senate then? Can she enter the meta? Hanyuu can move between the world of fragments. So can the witches. I guess they could interact with each other. Although Beatrice said that Gods and Witches have a low compatibility...But then how the fuck do gods work in When they cry? Do they follow the same rules as Witches? Probably not considering Hanyuu doesn't need a catbox to survive. But then Higurashi is a gameboard? But it's nothing like Rokkenjima..Fuck I'm confused >>15620921Beatrice mentions at some point that she liquidated a billion of the gold into Yen, for some reason. I think to assist the winner of the golden land riddle.
>>15620921It's dealt in the manga, she sent them as repentance in case she actually got to go forward with the plan. Also Kurasawa and Nanjo are greedy jew and she paid them to take part in her "fake murder mystery".
>>15620932According to Umineko, Featherine helmet was damaged at one point, and Hanyuu was born, but they are basically completely different. Hanyuu was once a human chick who died and became Hinamizawa local God.Bern creation was a side-effect of Kakera's jumping.Lambda existed before Higurashi and made Tanako's will "fate" as soon her will didn't wander.I wouldn't read too much about Higurashi/Umineko comparison.Higurashi is a story of the present. Rika jumps fragment, and you can read every fragment as a "gameboard". Also magic exists in Higurashi.Bern doesn't even play once until the very end in which she gathers her best fragment together for the "best world possible for Rika to win".Umineko is more like, Rokkenjima prime happened, Yasu dies, she goes in purgatory because of 34 powers and every gameboard is a fragment/story depending on how you read it, although ultimately subsidiary to Rokkenjima prime. In every fragment everyone dies but Rokkenjima's prime, so no one knows what the fuck happened.
>>15620962The more I think about Umineko, the more I realize that really the whole thing makes no fucking sense.
>>15620932>What is the relationship between Hanyuu and the meta?Very simple. She's an alien. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. And as such, her race exist in the highest plain available to physical beings. Hanyuu and her race traveled in between the meta to travel from the M37 cluster to Hinamizawa. Hou gives us a greater insight into how meta beings get their magic. Essentially, they anchor a miko to act as their ambassador to the world and events created through that miko is collected by that meta being. Hanyuu used the Oyashiro's curse paranoia as fuel to help Rika jump kakeras. This actually explains a lot of the beings in Ryukishi's world. The youkai beings in Higanbana cannot directly interact with humans except under certain restrictions and their power is fueled by events or rumors are created about them. This can also explain the power of Beatrice. >But then Higurashi is a gameboard?Yes, Higurashi was a gameboard between Lambda and Featherine. However, Featherine was attacked and lost a piece of her disk. This made Hanyuu powerless. Hanyuu was born out of the broken piece of Featherine while also having her own history.Anything else you need answered?
>>15621001>Very simple. She's an alien.I feel like this is a joke post but knowing this series it seems entirely possible. To be honest I wish the author had kept Umineko and Higurashi separate. Because they really do not gel very well together as series
>>15621001>Very simple. She's an alien. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. And as such, her race exist in the highest plain available to physical beings. >Hanyuu and her race traveled in between the meta to travel from the M37 cluster to Hinamizawa. She's not an alien. The PS2 game is not canon.Hanyuu is a real girl that was killed by her daughter under her request become a God an unify her clan and Hinamizawa inhabitant.Pic related, Hanyuu husbando. Her daughter looks like Rika (I think it's even implied Rika is her reincarnation?).
>>15621015They are separate, really. They are ultimately different stories in different universes.Bern and 34 are inter-dimensional travelers that give no fuck.
>>15621015They gel very well together, it's just very confusing.>>15621018But she is an alien. Rika even mentions that Hanyuu traveled with her clan to Hinamizawa. This makes it ironically hilarious because Takano was right and Mion used the truth to counter the alien theory because it was simply ridiculous, even though it's what happened. I also haven't read the PS2 game, I'm simply using facts from the original Higurashi.
>>15621033Yeah, from ANOTHER PLACE.Not a star system. I played the VN too, and they don't mention she's an alien other than in bizarre theories. She has a fully-fledged normal backstory in one of the canon spin-offs.Magic, reincarnations, TIME STOP are things in Higurashi, you don't need Aliens.
>>15621061
>>15621033Yeah I'm convinced your just having a giggle at this point >>15621020I guess I'll treat them as separate. That and Umineko being treated like a play in Higabana shows that the author isn't really strict with this kind of canon >>15621061>>Magic, reincarnations, TIME STOPHeh, I remember when my Higurashi theory was respawning demons killing everyone. Not that far away from the truth it turns out >>15621076>in joke>canonOkay now your stretching
Here's another piece I only just got around to finishing.
>>15621083>Yeah I'm convinced your just having a giggle at this pointJust a bit. I am absolutely convinced she's an alien but I'm just too bored and tired to argue.>>15621089Holy shit.
>>15621089FUCK YOU WHERE ARE HER GLOVES
>>15621089
>>15621018>(I think it's even implied Rika is her reincarnation?).What's with Rika and killing her mom, anyway?
>>15621141For that, I'd suggest playing the chapter.
>>15621104>>15621089Got you covered.
>>15621141Cause in the world of Saikoroshi-hen, Rika's mom was Hanyuu's miko and not Rika. The existence of her mom was preventing Rika's Hanyuu of entering that world to save Rika, so she had to kill her. By the way the mom was the only person who knew about Hanyuu, if more people knew, Rika would have to kill even more people.
>>15621175>By the way the mom was the only person who knew about Hanyuu, if more people knew, Rika would have to kill even more people. That's dark as fuck. I can't imagine what would have happened if the entire village knew.
>>15621169Much better.
>>15621175Jesus christ Ryukishi. And she gets hit by a bus after this...Rika is just made for eternal torture>>15621182Rika having survived hundred of fragments, I imagine she could wip up a pretty powerful bomb pretty quickly
>>15621169>>15621089>>15621169Do you think it's better with or without the nipples pocking out?
>>15621205>not small bombYou blew it.
>>15621217>Rika makes food for the whole village>thousands of tiny bombs
And now for the DFC Lambda. With the gloves, of course.
>>15621169Thanks. That save's me some effort. Now I just need to think of one for Bern.>>15621212I think it's better with them. I also made a version where the ribbon is her tighter on her breasts. What do you think?
Oups, forgot to remove the pumpkin. And now for the DFC Lambda. With the gloves, of course.
>>15621301I love it.It's honestly perfect. It's lewd but not too lewd by showing the 'goods'. I really love it, it's great. This might be the best design yet.
>>15621301>Now I just need to think of one for Bern. I dunno, Bern's design is rather good overall. It just needs a slit and it's good. I think I'm good with the breast on Bernkastel.
>>15621316That reminds me, I never posted the flat Bernkastel did I?
>>15621412No, you haven't. But thanks anyways.I dunno, it looks too flat, too boring. The outline of the breasts gives some sort of lewd. DFC covered is just boring, but that's just me.
I think big breasted Bernkastel and Lambda are the better. Even if I completely prefer small breasts for both of them.
>>15621500Hmmmm, although Bernkastel's breast are somewhat small, at least compared to Lambda, so I guess it's fine.
>>15621500I just feel like instead of big breasts, lambda was the type to have medium sized pointy ones.Panty and stocking breasts fits them both perfectly in my mind
>this thread
>>15621500Looking at them together like this, I'm happy with how these two turned out.>>15621573I wouldn't call the ones she has here big, I think they still fall in the medium range. it's just that the round shape makes them look fuller. Maybe I should have tried to make them look perkier.
Alright, let's see how horrible this will look.>>15621573In a perfect world, they would both have DFC with small perky breasts. The problem is that you can't lewd that properly.
>>15621693I'm honestly not happy with how this looks. It really looks off somehow and I can't put my finger on what. I tried to put that opening in the dress above her crotch but it just wouldn't fucking centralize. It's open towards the audience but does not curve with the body. It's insanely weird.
>>15621707Now you understand just how frustrating it was to make that edit. Bern's edit took me about 3 times as long as Lambda's did. And the truth is, the end result doesn't even line up with the original sprite. I had to give up on that because it just wouldn't work.
>>15621743Yeah, I can understand your frustration. It truly is annoying. I think it's better to just ditch the dress altogether and leave her naked.Hmmm, how about now?
I think I solved it?I still don't think the bottom portion should be added, it's just so annoyingly shit. The opening keeps wanting to be focused on the viewer.
Bernkastel needs something for her lower part but I have nothing; no ideas.
>>15621693>>15621769>>15621846My idea would be to disregard the bottom of her dress entirely. It's just too difficult to work with. How about something like this?
>>15621965Yeah that's much better. Can you reduce the vagina bones on the left by half or so? Or make it somewhat less visible as you did with Lambda?
A bit late to the discussion, but I have to say, as far explaining the motive goes, the manga IS better than the novel.Even in Episode VII, Clair motives is pretty incompressible to many, personally while I figured her mindset regarding her "roulette" it still seemed fucking retarded.I'm not really sure how R07 expected to figure it with Ep I-IV, even if you figure Shkanon the "why" was still a clusterfuck.
>>15621979Sure, how's this?
>>15622022Absolutely perfect.I fixed a small line on the right side of the tail that was annoying me and now it's just perfect.I would consider Bernkastel's lewd sprite to be finished.
Okay, so Eva's edit is coming along pretty well. I'm almost at her breasts now, but since that was one of the biggest problems with the original I figured I should check to see if my fix for her sagging is alright. Let me know if there are any issues.
>>15622087Well crap, looks like the other guy got deleted for some reason. I guess I'll just assume the fix works and continue on then.
>>15620932Hanyuu can't create witches. Granted, we have no real idea how witches are born, other than you need to go through a lot of really bad shit, but Hanyuu's nothing compared to witches, seeing as she can be unknowingly be used as a piece in a witch's game. Besides that, I'm not sure if 'how gods work in WTC' is a solid thing, considering that Higurashi took place in an entirely different group of fragments from Umineko and Ghost in the Shell is a fragment. It could very well vary from groups of fragments with common origins. And I'm not sure if what all witches need to exist should be based on Beatrice, seeing as she is the lowest rank of witch, if a particularily powerful member of that rank. Bernkastel, for example, seems to be able to do whatever she wants wherever she wants.Higurashi was either a gameboard or a group of gameboards, depending on how you see it, as a stage for Featherine and Lambdadelta to fight each other, with braindamaged Featherine using Hanyuu (and Rika?) as pieces and Lambdadelta using Takano as a piece. Also, remember that Lambdadelta and especially Featherine are exponentially more hax than Beatrice.
>>15622022There's a random mark on the right.Overall, it looks really good. I think we're done with Bernkastel. Finally.
I'm really impressed by how good Maria, Bernkastel and Lambda ended up.
>>15622295>Hanyuu can't create witches. Granted, we have no real idea how witches are born, other than you need to go through a lot of really bad shit, but Hanyuu's nothing compared to witches, seeing as she can be unknowingly be used as a piece in a witch's game.Well, you can piece how Bern was born from Kai and Rei.Kai makes clear there is this higher consciousnesses somewhat connected to Rika, she even talks to the player. She appears quite powerless though, until the very end (although, that may be because Rika really doesn't play until the very end) when you see her starting to piece the final kakera together. (The minigame the player does)Once Rika defeats Tanako/Lamba's piece/Lambda absolute fate, she won, Bernkastel performed a miracle and she is officially the Witch of Miracles and she's free.
>>15621965It looks really good and I love it. I fixed some small line on the right side of her tail.>>15622087I think her head is too small. Something about it seems wrong. Maybe it's the angle?
>>15622374>Bernkastel performed a miracle and she is officially the Witch of Miracles and she's free. No, she's still confined to Higurashi. It's not until Rika gives her a name that she rebels against Hanyuu and becomes free.
>>15622358Funny, I was just making a similar collage. I decided to add Dlanor and 45 too, even though they're not technically finished.>>15622342That was supposed to be her hip, but it came out weird.>>15622380I'll see if I can fix it. It might just be the unshaded shoulders causing it to look off
>>15622414Overall though, I really love it. It's diverse, lewd, and not too sexualized. Can you also post the one with Maria dress? I really liked that one but forgot to save it.
couldn't find a Higurashi thread sorry but where can I buy the first 8 chapters? MangaGamer's website only has the first 3 as far as I can tell. I wanna play them before Umineko but I can't seem to find them anywhere
>>15622452Just download them.
>>15622437You mean these? http://imgur.com/a/z2Q7R
>>15622461>http://imgur.com/a/z2Q7RThat's the one. Thanks. I'm somewhat unsure which one between the dress and the panties, is the best. The dress is more elegant but the panties are cuter and more lewd.
>>15622461I also prefer your hard blush you add to the sprites rather than the soft blush that's on the sprites. They remind me of the Higurashi blushes.
>>15622452Speaking of Higurashi, any updates on the PS3 graphics mod for Tatarigoroshi? I don't know if any of the people who work on it go to these threads but worth a shot.
>>15622472The dress has a sort of gap appeal because it's so lewd despite her being almost fully dressed. But still, it's a tough choice.
>>15622386>>15622386>No, she's still confined to Higurashi. It's not until Rika gives her a name that she rebels against Hanyuu and becomes free.We have no reason to think she's can't leave, though?Unless Rika renouncing the name Bernkastel it what "freed" her.I mean, we can clearly see in Kai ending she gained superpowers when she literally teleport into Tanako past to change it.
>>15622480Pretty sure all Higurashi chapters were done when they were first released by MG?Except some episode VIII sprites, cause schoolgirl Hanyuu didn't have a sprite in ep VIII.The OST is the thing you want to mod too, MG released removed quite few tracks.
>>15622485Hmmm. It's really a hard choice. If I had to chose, I would probably select the panties because it shows Maria in a more naked state. If you remove the nipples on the dress sprite, it just seems like an alternate dress for Maria, but where it shows more her torso without revealing too much.It wouldn't make sense to have Maria wear a dress when everyone else is naked, right? An alternate solution would be to possibly create alternate designs. By that I mean that the cast would be half naked rather than almost/completely naked.Like Bernkastel and Lambda keeping part of their skirt. That wouldn't make Maria the odd duck of the group. >>15622497>Unless Rika renouncing the name Bernkastel it what "freed" her.No, Bernkastel was freed after Rika gave her a name. Hanyuu implies that she was fully created once Rika gave her a name, and then resented the fact that she was born simply to entertain Hanyuu, so she traveled into the meta to destroy any kakera with hope.
>>15621018>She's not an alien. The PS2 game is not canon. The PS2 game doesn't say that she's an alien, it's just an old theory. If anything, her backstory in Miotsukushi-hen and Kotohogushi-hen clearly shows that she isn't an alien
>>15622552Hanyuu changed herself to look human. It's the reason she has horns. Hanyuu and her clan do not look human at all, but she took some potion, had a spell, or went into some magic, whatever it is, and changed to become human. Except it didn't change her completely into a human, she still had her horns from her original form.\\This is also why Tamura has wings on her head.
>>15622457where? google isn't giving me a link to anything past the first three chapters either
>>15622571Is Hou decent?
>>15622585Sigh...>First 4 chapters.http://erogedownload.com/downloads/higurashi-when-they-cry/>chapter 5http://erogedownload.com/downloads/higurashi-when-they-cry-kai-meakashi/>chapter 6http://erogedownload.com/downloads/higurashi-when-they-cry-kai-tsumihoroboshi/>chapter 7http://erogedownload.com/downloads/higurashi-when-they-cry-kai-minagoroshi/>chapter 8http://erogedownload.com/downloads/higurashi-when-they-cry-kai-matsuribayashi/And for the weaking.http://higurashifix.wikia.com/wiki/Tweaking_Higurashi_WikiYou don't need to tweak anything after chapter 4.>>15622594Ehhhh, I dunno. It's rather decent and tense for most of the story then out of nowhere Ryukishi trolls the audience and the story in a somewhat anticlimactic way. >the fate of the world is at risk>hahaha, let's play club games! It's like Ryukishi wanted to give fanservice but it felt weird.
>>15622571That doesn't prove that they're aliens though. According to Kotohogushi-hen they're demons, which is the reasons for the horns
>>15622623Pfffftt. Demons. That's just superstitions.>That doesn't prove that they're aliens though.It doesn't disprove it either.
>>15622611thank you!
>>15622611You forgot to him him this, but whatever. Jesus.
>>15622638Yeah, but I wouldn't mind having more people read Higurashi, so it's fine I guess.
>>15622638>You forgot to give him thisgive, gave, I don't know. Shut up.
>>15622646No worries.
>>15622524I think the eroticism also depends on the situation it fits with. The dress seems more like something worn in public, while the panties would more likely be worn at home.Eaxpanding on you're idea, what about making the gameboard characters half-naked, and the meta world characters almost/completely naked. You could even justify it by saying that conceptual beings have no need for clothing. It would also make it easier down the road. Several meta world women have those large skirts like Bern's that are hard to work with, and it would be easier to just design a new outfit like I did with Lambda. I could also just design an extra lewd outfit for Maria like I did with Lambda so that she doesn't stick out as much.I've already come up with some Idea's for Eva's lewd outfit. One option is to cut out the one-winged eagle patterns on her clothes marked in green here (this would also include those on the bottom half, I was just too lazy to color them in. Another option is to remove the red marked part of her top, giving her an outfit similar to Gaap's that exposes her sideboob.
>>15622611>Ehhhh, I dunno. It's rather decent and tense for most of the story then out of nowhere Ryukishi trolls the audience and the story in a somewhat anticlimactic way.Is it a proper sequel to Rei or just another shitty spin off anyway?
>>15622714>what about making the gameboard characters half-naked, and the meta world characters almost/completely naked.Yeah, I guess that works. I really can't seem to decide between near full nudity and half naked since this is more of a joke sprite alternative where all the characters being naked doesn't have to make logical sense. The best option would probably be to give three options for people to select. A full nude, a semi nude, or a mix of the two with your idea of half nude in public and full nude in the meta. I honestly just can't decide. I'm too indecisive >I've already come up with some Idea's for Eva's lewd outfit. One option is to cut out the one-winged eagle patterns on her clothes marked in green hereOooh I really like that idea. I was just thinking of keeping the yellow bars around her body but that's even better. Do you have a picture of Eva fully clothed? I've been searching google for a rip of the pachinko sprites without much luck.
On the same token, could someone rip most of the characters sprites and upload the file to mega? That would be a great help.
>>15622788I ripped the sprites and the cg on the day the steam version came out. both are available on the same google drive I put the artbook scans.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzdNfLGacG1rbHZGVjdVc0VfNXc
>>15622779It's not a sequel to Rei, it's just a fandisc that contains Outbreak, Hinamzawa Bus Stop and Kamikanshi-hen
>>15622834Sweet, thanks.
>>15622788Half-nudes could be made by simply removing certain parts of the original. borderline-nudes could be made by starting with a full-nude, and then adding tiny accessories to cover the bar minimum. For example, Maria's dress would be a half-nude, while the panties would be closer to a borderline-nude, although maybe not quite there yet.So far I've just been coming up with lewd outfits whenever inspiration strikes. For that reason, hearing new ideas form others like you is important.
Alright, well I tried to make a lewd outline like you envisioned but I'm not sure if it looks good. The lines in the middle get really thin. The yellow ring around her left arm on the right looks really out of place and unconnected to anything. I wonder if it shouldn't just be removed entirely. >>15622890I think finding a medium between half nudes and borderline nude is ideal. Though I don't know where the medium between Maria's dress and her wearing panties lies. I still think that the practical solution is to add more pieces of clothing for each character by seperating them into half nudes and borderline-nudes, thereby letting people decide which type of lewd sprite they want. It shouldn't be too hard to do either.
Although removing the lines makes it look somewhat incomplete. Hmm I don't have any ideas.
>>15623008I would probably recommend removing one or the other. doing both makes her top seem a bit too insubstantial in my opinion. Removing the eagle requires quite a bit of precision work to make it look presentable. It's difficult, but I think I can take care of it. However that does leave another problem. It's just not realistically possible for the remaining strands of cloth to hold that position, but I have an idea. Instead of completely cutting out the Eagle, what if I made it look semi-transparent. I think it would work. Now for the sideboob edit, I think you're right. The golden ring at her shoulder will need to be removed entirely. In order to make the outfit more realistically functional, I could add a horizontal strip of cloth beneath the breast that connects the front and back of the dress. Also I was wondering, should I even bother removing Eva's gloves? It seems like most of the time we'll just put them back on again, so maybe I should just save some time and leave them on to begin with.
What would happen if we put >BeatriceInto a hole in Amigara Fault?
Does anyone know what the text on this page says?
>>15623234[red]Battler is incompetent
Nearly done. In the end I decided that removing her gloves wasn't worth the effort.
>>15623234It's the text from the VN version of the scene
>>15616481https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq5YSqzX6JkStill one of my favorite scenes from the VN. Lambda can be so deliciously scary if she wants to.
