I know Yuyuko's clothing design is a modified version of the kimono, but this is the first time I've seen an official work actually depicts her in a traditional, unmodified kimono. If you compare what Yuyuko's wearing in this page to what she wears in other works, it lacks the western-style frills and lapels that usually comes with her clothes--Traditional kimonos don't have these sorts of features.

It doesn't matter if you get to say that a character acts ''in the shadows'' if said character only appears once every blue moon, which is the point here. She didn't need to do that in PCB, or IN, or IaMP or SWR or SA. Hell even when she was scheming from afar in SSiB, she still got tons of usage.

Unlike now where Mamizou is the one jammed into everything while Yukari gets diddly squat, it's really annoying.

Yukari is meant to be senseless is how she interacts or doesn't interact with the events. It's literally written in her PMiSS entry, and explored in that extra where she visits Akyuu. It's how the "youkai-like youkai" thing translates into her character.

It's literally Yukari's entire deal to barely do anything herself and instead observe or work behind the shadows.

She's one of the most important figures to the Hakurei barrier's maintenance and Reimu didn't even know about her until PCB.

That's literally all she does. She already accomplished most of what she wanted to do centuries ago and now only acts when friends are involved or it's something incredibly serious. Otherwise, she sleeps or goes on vacation in the outside world. Also gaps in food.

Meanwhile tanuki are meddlers. Their primary ability allows them to get wrapped up in affairs because they can transform into people. Mamizou is a big shot where she came from, a meddler like all tanuki, and a new arrival. It would make less sense if she didn't do much.

And returning to Yukari, she didn't appear in ULiL or LoLK and those were REALLY big deals. She shows up in one LoLK ending just to be mysterious and leave.

Because again, that's her deal.
