Their musical styles aren't comparable at all, but there is a striking similarity between the directions that both groups (i.e., Perfume & Bloc Party) and their lead creative influences (Nakata & Okereke) followed after their debut albums. Both bands released arguably their best content, built their cult fan bases (eventually turned critics), and [pre-]defined their image & sound with their debut albums and prior demos. Then, they both shifted their sound & image a bit with their second albums, gaining larger, mainstream fan bases while planting seeds of skepticism into a sizeable portion of the original fan bases. Then, shit just continually hits the fan harder and harder with the release of each successive album by both groups.

Although I discovered Perfume later into its career than that of Bloc Party's (OG alwaysnewdepths member), I can't but help make these comparisons with two music groups that I wholeheartedly adore(d). I haven't been a devout fan (or a fan at all) of Bloc Party for years because of its drastic transformation into what I know of today, but if their career is any indication of what Perfume could become or is becoming tomorrow, then I only fear the inevitable for Perfume.

If you check out Bloc Party, look no further than their debut album, Silent Alarm. Every track was legitimate ground-breaking stuff in the rock world at the time. Each song will invoke so many feels. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Their second album, A Weekend in the City, was good but definitely not the ground-breaking release like Silent Alarm. It is still worth a listen as well as its associated b-sides. Fandom stops there for me, and I suggest that you don't poison yourself with their third album and beyond if you're curious. I could go on and on about Bloc Party (just like how we could go on and on about Perfume) but I'll stop here.

everyone except for the stage manager and maybe the music video director. the outifts are lifeless, the music is shit and the dancing much like the music isn't always shit but I think mikiko has shown enough signs of laziness to warrent her complete creative control over their choriography to be taken from her, I would hire more choriographers to producer dances for them and use what ever is best. perfect star perfect style is one of their best choriographys and it's not made by mikiko, I would get who ever done that for sure. nakata would probably only produce like 20% of perfumes music when I'm done but knowing him he would likely just say fuck you I wanna do it all so he would likely just get fired.

forgot one thing, take away any creative control A~chan has and hand it over to yuka, yuka is a useless fuck but I know she will try to cover her weaknesses and ask for more songs that compliment her vocals like perfumes old music and clockwork and 1mm which are songs where her vocals really sound great. she would also probably stop being such a lazy bitch and dance at her full capacity if she was promoted over A~chan, I'm not saying she wants more power because she seems chill and probably doesn't give a fuck but she also seems like a person who when in a leadership role, takes their job more seriously and when just a lacky works at the minimum standard possible to put in as little effort as possible without being bad enough to cause complains.

yuka is killing perfume but only because he is stopping them from being a vocal based group like A~chan and to a lesser extent nocchi wants.
