As usual, I found myself randomly on my dream. When I got hold of the lucidity, I started wondering where I was.
It looked like morning, from the intensity of the light coming through the windows and the open doors leading to the outside. It was a mansion, but not like Rokkenjima, something British and on the country side. I looked outside from one those doors and I could see a bright light shining on the vegetation, flowers and other kinds of plants. It seems too bright for me so I stayed indoors.
It was a lot darker inside, but still on a level that someone would find comfortable. I was interested on exploring the mansion inside, but before I took that many steps I noticed someone on the hallway next to that door. Looking at some flowers on a vase, was a young woman with long straight hair observing those flowers with a very relaxed look on her face. She was wearing a light coloured dress common in that century, had a dark hair and her eyes were grey or blueish grey, it was hard to understand with that kind of light. She glanced at me for a second from the corner of her eyes and turned her attention back to the flowers. Focused and occasionally touching the petals, this woman was paying attention to those flowers for some reason, even leaning forward to take a closer look almost touching them with her nose.
I was intrigued wondering who she was. Before I came to a conclusion, my thoughts were interrupted by a squeaky voice, coming from somewhere else, ruining the quiet I was feeling in that room, "Hey! What are you doing here?". It looked like an other young woman with that voice and I turned around to look at her.

She was indeed an other young woman. She was wearing a dress from that time, but she was also wearing a hat and gloves. She had short blonde hair, bright hazel eyes, looking at me with a grin, one hand on her hip and the other held out waiting for my answer.

"I don't know! I just ended up here somehow, I have no idea." I replied still confused with the whole thing. She didn't let me explain any longer and her voice changed into something less disturbingly squeaky, "Hang on!" she said raising her hand, "You don't need to explain anything, I get what is going on, don't worry."
She paused for a moment, I had time to realize something. Who they looked like, who they seem to be and I asked her, "Wait... Lambda?". I turned around and stared at the other woman, this time she glared me not very amused for someone to stare at her so intrusively.

So I faced the blonde woman once again and she answered me, "Yes I am. I don't think we look that different now for you to not be able to recognize us.". I looked at the other woman again, still minding her own business with the flowers and I asked Lambda, "So she is...". "Bern. Obviously..." she finished my sentence, sighing in the end.

I was confused even more, but for some reason it felt like it made sense. I looked back at Bern and she was glaring me with her eyes, this time it really felt like her, piercing me just as I should be expecting from her. I looked back at Lambda and she was standing there, arms crossed, with her usual authentic grin, waiting for me to say something.

At that moment I was thinking, it was a dream, but some say dreams are more then just dreams. Even if they are just dreams I had to know what this dream had for me. So I focused and calmed my mind down so I wouldn't wake up suddenly ruining the whole thing.

I changed my attitude for more immersion and started asking questions more seriously, "Then Lambda, explain me what is going on? Why are you here? Why is Bern behaving like that, it doesn't seem nothing like herself." She gave me a smile and spoke, I believe she was hoping I stopped looking silly and finally come to my senses, "She has to be like that. Its part of the thing she is doing right now. She is trying to be a human, a mortal and experience this world as one. The mindset and knowledge of a Witch doesn't let her experience this properly. She has to be dumb. She has to descend herself like that.". She finishes her speech, with her usual confident tone and gestures with her palm up towards Bern.

She was quiet and appeared to be like an innocent girl, she was contemplating the garden outside, feeling the fresh wind of that morning coming through the door. This was exactly the situation she would die of, absolute boredom with nothing happening around her. It was like she was drinking her poison on purpose. But for some reason she just stood there, peaceful and silent.

I was pondering about Bern, I was about to move towards her to speak but Lambda told me not to do it, so I asked Lambda instead, "She is her own Piece, but this doesn't even look like a Game at all. What are you doing?".

Lambda leaned forward resting her hands on her hips, smiling at me, "We are called Voyager Witches for a reason. We travel to many kinds of worlds to experience them in the many ways we can thanks to our powers." I was following her explanation and I asked her, "So you are like Gods? You have amazing powers and can do amazing things."

"Wrong." she told me right away slightly raising her voice. Lambda kept her cheerful attitude and gave me her long explanation, "We are might look similar, but if we were the same we wouldn't have different names.". She leaned back standing straight looking me in the eyes, she was looking serious this time, "Gods are beings part of their own universes and they are part of nature. It seems they have free will but, they are bound to cause and effect.", she peered at Bern in the middle of her speech returning her eyes to me right away "They might have great powers like us, but they lack awareness and consciousness. Gods are still very limited compared to us and they exist for a purpose on their universe, as part of how that universe works. Like a supernova or a black hole, they are just huge events on their universe and appear to be conscious entities.".

Lambda lifted her head with a faint smirk, "We Witches however, are not bound and we are very conscious beings. So this gives us a lot of freedom and we can do whatever we like. But there is something, that even humans can related to. When you are very conscious, you start to get bored of things around you, this is why it is sometimes said that ignorance is bliss. But humans are limited, some tried so hard to push their limits into changing their reality that were able to, what we can call, do Magic. And that is why we are called Witches and this is what we do, Magic. Witches are beings that can do a lot of Magic. So we travel between many universes to experience them, that is why we are here now, until we get bored with it and move on."

Lambda turned her face to look at Bern, I did the same. This is when the dream started to collapse until I wake up, it's the last thing I remember.

Someone asked me to tell them about my dream. I tried to write about it like a story. And dreams are about what you feel on them and I really felt the chill of both characters presence on it, specially with the things I heard from one of them.

I thought it was worth it to post it because our threads are also about our experiences related with Umineko, I think. I didn't think it was shitposting and in fact it was actually content for the thread.

Close but no cigar. The manipulation of causality is one of Lambda's powers. Hers works on a much larger scale. The manipulation of causality is one of the main attributes of what we call 'God'. It's the reason why we pray, to have some entity manipulate causality so that we benefit from it. Lambda simply makes events within causality happen with certainty (though the road to that certainty is muddled and unsure, like how Takano was promised to become a God, but by no means was it shown to be certain except until she won).
This is essentially why Lambda is stronger than Bernkastel. Bern can also manipulate small pockets of causality to the point where it becomes a miracle, an impossibility. Larger scale, as shown in Higurashi, causes large events to happen with certainty but there are large gaps of events that are possible. Bernkastel manipulates those small events, but Lambda can manipulate both small events and large ones.

Featherine, on the other hand, is another causality manipulator, but of a different class. The issue and weak point concerning Lambda is that her powers of manipulation causality only works within the confines in which cause and effect are related. Featherine can simply ignore it.

My headcanon is that Lambda is very mature. She understands that making others suffer and ruin their lives isn't the only way to get rid of her boredom. Bern looks like she is not very mature at all, or maybe she is pretending, acting like an edgy teen with urges to kill. I hope one day Bern grows up if that is the case.

It's creepy when we notice weird details on the novel that seem to be out of character. But I remember a Ryukishi interview where he said there was more behind Lambda, Bern and Featherine that was untold. He also mentioned that he because a writer to express his inner world. I believe he might have a lot of autism regarding some characters, that is what makes it interesting.

I've always been more weary of Lambda than Bernkastel. You see of her true colors in the tea party where she tells Beatrice to play more seriously, in a stern and meanacing voice. And also that part in ep 4 where she convinces Ange to not play at full strength. Lambda creepily makes Ange her bitch without doing any work and it really shows how scary she truly is. And if you believe that all of Umineko is a play, it shows that Lambda didn't have to worry about dying. Or, another interpretation is that all her actions were selfishly to make sure the game ended in a draw.
To me, every time Lambda acts foolish, it's bullshit, but everytime she acts insightful, calm, collected and creepy, that's her true self.

As for Bernkastel, I'm still unsure. She seems a lot more playful after Umineko is over. She tease Erika but points out that she's not bullying her and even imitates Erika's famous catchphrase, something I doubt she would ever do in the story.

iirc, he said in that interview that he wrote extensive backstories on them and set of 'rules' of what they would and wouldn't do.

This is what I felt on my dream. I just realised how Lambda truly was after my dream. Every day Lambda looks even better and a lot of character relationships start to make more sense for me.

For me Bern is very immature, she pretends she is strong, cruel and evil. By doing bad things, she hides how bad she feels or to hide her weaknesses. Just like when Bern told Lion how she forgot how to react. I think Lambda knows that and she teases to exploit that on her, from this basis we can also understand why both fit together in their love relationship.

Ryukishi inspired me and he keeps doing it so, the way he created the characters and how he sees them, its something I follow too and I believe its amazing.

That was only in ep 5 where Tohya allowed her to get into the story. After ep 4, Tohya let the mystery fans add their own character into the forgeries because they thought that Battler was incompetent. Erika got tricked into the red herring that Natsuhi was the culprit and the mystery fans got humiliated. This is why, in ep 6, Erika just randomly starts killing everyone and cages Battler in that logic error room. After ep5, Tohya is Battler in the gameboard, and figures out how to get out of the logic error, he makes his deceleration that no other person can join in the Gameboard. There are only 17 people on the island and if Erika or someone else joins, they will be dead on arrival.
This is essentially why Black Battler exists. They can't add another character but they can make Battler evil and break the rules.

Essentially, that red just says

Was skipped narratively by Tohya. Erika never solve it, she just arrived at the answer and claimed she had solved it. There isn't a single thing Erika has correctly solved in the entire story. What's hilarious is that she goes meta, she knows she's a detective, tries to break the game and it still wasn't enough for her to figure out who was the culprit.
In ep 5, we stick with Natsuhi the entire time by our frame of reference. But to Erika, her view is a lot different. She's the only one without a alibi. Erika unfortunately made the terrible mistake of making theory before she had facts.

Erika assumed Natsuhi was the culprit because she had no motive rather than use facts for how Natsuhi could have done it. She went by process of elimination rather than using evidence.

The red makes it so that Erika can never be on the island alive. Hell, if you want to push it further, because of that red, ep 6 never happened. Ep 6 did happen, a forgery was created but after a lot of annoyances, Tohya negated it by not allowed person X from joining the game.
Just think of it as Tohya saying ''fuck you, I'm fucking done with you guys'' and closing the gameboard. This is essentially why Tohya vanished between ep 6 and ep 8. His last gameboard was for Ange but another gameboard, made by the mystery fans, was made basically at the same time.

One could even say it was likely Battler who solved the epitaph in the end over Erika. You can make a good argument for it. Battler's not entirely stupid, he's actually pretty clever and smart, he's just oblivious and tries to think too much out of the box sometimes. While he'd have a bit of a struggle to solve the actual murders on Rokkenjima without some guide (like Knox's ten commandments) I feel like he could probably manage to figure out the epitaph given the appropriate time and motivation.

Erika likely helped out and mentioned a few things that got Battler on track, and she likely tried to make it seem like she was the one who actually solved it. I doubt Battler would really buy that he solved it 100% by himself. Even in the end, when Kinzo was "Showing Battler where the gold room was" that could just be construed as battler figuring it out himself. Of course, this all depends on when/if Yasu got Battler to go along with their scheme. Did they make contact before or after the epitaph was solved? That's even assuming they got involved with the scheme at all.

Erika also fell into a bit of a trap in the middle of Ep 5. She honestly did suspect that Kinzo was actually dead, until having been "proved wrong" in her interaction with Battler. Battler pulling that whole stunt, even if both battlers were just piece battlers, totally screwed over Erika, making her include Kinzo into her plot that made Natsuhi out to be the culprit. That really helped screw Erika over near the end of Ep 5 when vehemently tried to include Kinzo into her theory, despite it constantly being stated in red that kinzo was dead. She tried to defend that angle instead of attempting to create a good work around.

Yeah at the Chicago con Ryukishi went to a few people tried pushing the Rosatrice theory down mine, and everybody else's throats. Apparently there was some eight hour long video explaining it or whatever. I can see how it could be interesting, but you need to stretch a lot in order to make it work. Seen Rikafag push it a lot, and although I surprisingly agree with more stuff than I'd like to admit with them, even if the manga didn't exist explaining the answers it's pretty obviously Shannon/Kanon. Episode 7 even makes it pretty damn blatant. Rosatrice is just trying to be contrarian.

If anything Erika's body washing up on Rokkenjima, and not being counted as a person, should be a huge clue supporting that either way. Granted I never read the manga for the specific answers, but I always assumed Yasu just used Erika's body in ep 1 to make it look as if Shannon was dead. The Rosatrice explanation is that Shannon died in the first twilight, George knocked at his parents door then killed them with Rosa hiding under the bed. When Kanon and Genji saw the room was locked, they went to get something to cut the lock, Rosa undid the lock from the inside, quickly painted the seal on the door then went back in and hid under the bed.

Both explanations of how the murders could have been committed are valid, in my view, of how the murder could have been done. Though it could be argued that the Rosatrice theory just tries not to rely on the unreliable narrator and bribery as answers. Whether or not being noble in its answers makes it accurate, and better than the official explanation, is up to the reader to decide. Me, I just don't care.

Kinzo, Battler and George have been caught by an evil witch.

She, being evil, wants to execute them but proposes a riddle which if they can solve in under 30 minutes they are allowed to go.
Each of them are placed in a single line facing forward like this: Kinzo > Battler > George

Each one of them will wear a hat, either black or white, they cannot see their own hat only the one in front of them. So Kinzo can see Battlers and Georges hat, Battler can see Georges hat and George cannot see any hat.
Only one of the guys has to guess their own hat color in order to solve the riddle. There is atleast one white hat and atleast one black hat hat

After what seems to be ages, Battler suddenly knows the answer and just before 30 minutes solves it. How was Battler able to solve the riddle?

I'd appreciate that those who have solved it would give a bit time for those who can't figure it out to figure it out on their own as it is a bit easier than last time.

I would have preferred something classy or cool, covers like this don't represent the content at all and clash with the tone of the work.

Why do people see Umineko in strictly the magic or the trick definitions?

Yeah I feel like it's an aspect totally lost one way or the other. The best way is to think of it as a middle ground. A cat box if you will.. Which is why I don't like the manga's ending. The series specifically ended in a cat box, the actual events were only something Battler and Beatrice knew.

Both of those where my posts. I sort of agree. I think both nude and clothed have their own appeal depending on the mood you're in. The only reason I mostly do nude edits is because it's harder to work with clothes.
