I can't speak for the sugar content of the regular Monster energy drink (green), but I would say that it (and the sugar-free/blue version, as I had both) seems less acidic than your typical soda. I probably drink an energy drink once a week and have no other carbonated drink. I'm conscientious about such things as I wore down the enamel on my teeth a bit when I was young by drinking coca-cola like it was water.
One practice to do is to drink a glass of water after you finish whatever carbonated drink you are having (or even juice, as that is acidic as well) to help protect your enamel and prevent staining.

Thanks guys. I fully intend on getting around to upgrading the bigger/better equipment but until I actually have screws to work with I don't want to be wasting my daily free screw from the quest. I'll start throwing some upgrades into my AP shells (assuming the T91 ones are fine) then work my way over to getting the 35.6s upgraded too.

As for "farming to X then scrapping" what are the ships to keep an eye out for? So far I'm saving Kinugasa, Ooi and KTKM for their equipment, not sure if there are others that hand out stuff at a level that is sane enough.

Nagato/Mutsu give 3 41cms if you Kai them, 41cms are used in a LOT of upgrading.
Mikuma is better for 20.3cm 3gou because she Kai's at level 30, but she's a lot rarer than Kinugasa.
35.6cms are very common, but they become needed later on down the upgrade line.
Any DD who Kai's with a 10cm HA is good (most of them do, so don't worry about scrapping a couple 10cm HA)

There's a lot of them. Just use the guide that tells you what's worth upgrading, then check the wiki to see what it consumes for leveling up.
As an example, if you're gonna upgrade 35.6cm to Protos, you should always unequip the main gun every time you get a Fusou, Ise or Kongou class out of crafting/drop before scrapping.
