That seems to be a preview of Yukkuri Postal. The current version doesn't have that level of detail.
Grab Postal from the gy uploader. That seems to be all it's used for now.
http://www4.uploader.jp/home/gy/
I believe you start with 8, then get the mods in 11 and anything else added in the future.
Extract the mod's files to the \data folder inside the main folder. Use google translate on the manual to get the jist of it.

It means Reimu is a ghost from the past.

16. One day, Sanae visits Marisa to tell her that her yukkuri has grown to the size of half a room. (She has a family of Yukkureimus, this is the eldest one.) Marisa thinks that Sanae is weird, since everyone else in Gensokyo sees yukkuris as food, but Sanae raises them lovnigly. (Kanako also disapproves.) They visit the big yukkuri, and Marisa says it's pregnant. The number of babies depends on the size it's swollen to, and with this extreme size it'll die during birth. Sanae despairs, but Marisa suggests an abortion. Sanae hesitates, but she loves the big one (in b4 slut jokes) too much. Said abortion involves bashing it with a metal bat until it throws them up. What follows is a detailed description of Sanae crying while hitting it, and the yukkuri throwing up a torrent of sweet bean paste (read: yukkuri carcasses) and deflating. When it deflates enough to regain its speech: "Zdob id, Mwommy! My babiez are dying!" (It considers Sanae its mother). Sanae almost breaks down. After it has deflated completely, she folds it and takes it away. The room is flooded knee-deep in bean paste. Marisa then reveals that she had hidden the rest of the family in the closet. "That's what will happen to you if you get pregnant. So don't." "Okay, lady!!!" *shiver shiver* She then tells them that Sanae said they can have the bean paste on the floor. They're overjoyed. The plan is to get Sanae to see what dirty and barbaric creatures they are, so that she stops seeing them like that. The next time she met Sanae, the yukkuris with her were trembling.

4. Kaguya owns a yukkuri Chen and tends to spoil it, so it's quite self-absorbed.. One day, they go to an underground lab, where Kaguya puts it on a red-hot iron plate. She then sews its eyes shut. (Its exclamation it "I don't get it!"; "getting it" is as precious to yukkuri Chens as "taking it easy" is to the rest of the yukkuris.) Since then, it spent the whole day trembling in a corner. A few weeks later, Kaguya takes it to the laboratory and sews its mouth shut, leaving a small hole to feed it. It now serves as an armrest. Whenever Kaguya needs a massage, she clips one of its tails with a pair of scissors. The convulsions feel good.

Any better?

behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Marisa, thou daughter of Pathcouli, fear not to take unto thee Reimu thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Then Marisa being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden her, and took unto her her wife:

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and she called his name JESUS.

1. Cats are not disgusting. Fuck you.
2. Yukkuri are not adorable. They're just drawn that way.

Here's why that's meaningless.
I could take YOU, an ugly fat NEET who is probably fapping to loli right now, give you big eyes, completely strip away your personality (especially the annoying, selfish bits), clean up your face/body to remove any acne or teeth issues, and make you say adorable things you'd never see in real life. Pic related for the yukkuri equivalent.
That doesn't make you adorable. You're still a fat, putrid NEET, I'm just not drawing you that way.

Precisely. Yukkuri are not anything but what they are drawn. They exist only in images, an idea for an artist to personalize, instead of something concrete. Unfortunately for cats, they are disgusting and selfish and shit all over the place, and humans can't really change that without a lot of work.

You could take anything solid and draw it as cute and it wouldn't change, but if you took the yukkuri which is NOT physical and wanted to change it with drawing, it would change. Yukkuris are not innately anything, they're a plaything for humans. Cats are forced to be ugly, floppy things that shit all over the place, and humans can't change that in art.

>yukkuris only exist within that view
No, yukkuris only exist within the images and stories that they participate in. What I refer to as the 'traditional' view of a yukkuri (which has been there since they first had personalities. One of the early Makako comics has a Reimu invading Reimu's house, eating some of her food and demanding that she take it easy) is incompatible with the view in the cuter images, such as the work of TENMUS, Sakuranononono, the yukkuri raising guide, and probably others I can't think of off the top of my head. The "Traditional" view has their personalities described in one way, the "Cute" view has them in another way (or not at all, like in the case of the raising comic).
Another example, also showing that Guro is completely unrelated to what I'm talking about, is the recently done de-eyeing comic. The anon specifically asks the yukkuri family if they're bad, and they say no. The traditional view would have them completely incapable of understanding (short of torture, but that's another issue) that stealing from humans, breaking their property, telling them to take it easy over and over, is wrong. A cute yukkuri would never do that, because they're a split from the traditional view to make them look and act like wonderful pets.

What I was saying is that yukkuri are disgusting, horribly selfish, annoying, arrogant, etc, things you do not look for in a pet. Cats are selfish but not nearly to the degree of a yukkuri. A cat would enjoy spending time with you because it likes your company. A yukkuri will force you to take it easy (by demanding it) and then will like you if you take it easy and feed it. >>1430227 is actually an example of this behavior.

Then you have the cute images, like TENMUS's, which just takes yukkuri and makes them cute by clipping away all the negative aspects of a yukkuri, which just happen to be the very things that make them a yukkuri. It's forced moe for yukkuri.

Maybe I'm speaking philosophy where it's not appropriate. I'm saying that yukkuris do not exist in any form but in the minds of actual humans, you and I. In this way, they can be anything a human actually wants them to be, making them the ultimate pet. The only thing stopping them from being more popular than cats is that they don't exist, and actually existing would take that away. This is the strange mechanism that makes people fall in love 2d girls.

The point is that you shouldn't worry about their personalities or physical characteristics, but simply appreciate the art. If the only thing letting you enjoy it is discussing how they could exist, remember that if they ever did exist, they couldn't be like you wanted them and they might as well not exist.

>The only thing stopping them from being more popular than cats is that they don't exist, and actually existing would take that away
If you wished they existed, you'd fall into the first camp. I don't know why you think it'd make a good pet. It is accepted that they are horrible, selfish, gluttonous, etc. The people who draw them looking around, being cute (usually also being ko-s), saying cute things, are in the minority. It is not traditional yukkuri behavior. It's like thinking a dragon would be a good pet because you saw a movie with a really cute baby dragon (obviously not on the same scale, but I can't think of any other non-existent animal). Just because you see SOME cute depictions of a non-existent animals (or, hell, a REAL animal. You see all sorts of cute and anthromorphised predatory animals in childrens cartoons) doesn't mean that is what their normally accepted behavior is.

>> No.1430703

I'm not getting through to you, am I? Yukkuris are an opinion. Their very existence could have never happened if it didn't catch on. Everyone's opinion is equally valid, and majority and minority have absolutely no influence on this, as every man has his own view and yukkuris only exist within that view. If a man had a delusion where dragons existed and were happy-go-lucky fellows that helped him through life, that's his view of dragons, and dragons are equal to yukkuris in their existence(potentially debatable) in human minds only.

Again, everyone's opinion is equally correct, as yukkuris are creatures that exist only as an opinion. Majority votes have no influence whatsoever.

There is no tradition, as they do not exist in any concrete form. If everyone suddenly thought that yukkuris were cute and had bubbly and humble personalities, it wouldn't make any more difference than if only one person saw them that way, because that kind of yukkuri exists to that person.

It's like canon Alice vs fanon Alice. Does it really matter? Neither of them exist except mentally and on paper. Everyone is going to have their own view of Alice, and that Alice is THE Alice to them. Therefore, no other opinion actually matters to that person, for they have decided their view and that Alice exists in their mind. Replace Alice with yukkuri and you're set.

This is as simply as I can put it. Take it easy and enjoy the art instead of worrying about trifles!

What the fuck, I go to sleep and come back to find a discussion on touhou sociology?

Yes, there is a tradition of beliefs about Yukkuri, actually several, some of which are contradictory.

Just ask yourself, if a random person were to stumble upon the yukkuri meme, what would he believe yukkuris are? Either selfish, arrogant blobs of magical dough, cute cat-like fairies, or surrealistic floating heads. He would not come to actually random conclusions, like that they are characters from a Nintendo Xbox game, that they are the Republican candidates for Emperor of the United States of America, or that they are the result of untreated genital herpes.

There is no strictly enforced 'canon', however there are several common traditions that overlap.

It's a freaking internet meme. All that really matters is that goofy drawing style and "Take it easy!" Heck, you can even change that and if people still mentally map it to yukkuri then it's part of the ongoing evolution of the meme.

This is yukkuri . . .

All this arguing about of rules and traditions and, heaven help us, 'canon' is getting ridiculous. No, it was getting ridiculous about twenty threads ago, at this point it's just kind of strange.

Find the stuff that amuses you, be that nonsensical ascii art, manga drama, HNNNG-inducing moeblobbery, stories for sadists, or user interface mods for Team freaking Fortress 2 and ENJOY IT. Maybe even contribute to it, if you're feeling adventurous.

At first I was going to say 'quit arguing about it on 4chan and enjoy it', but I suppose that some people's favorite part of the yukkuri phenomenon is arguing about it on 4chan.

I find these threads to be quite dull if there isn't some kind of discussion going on. I've already seen the images from pixiv or the uploaders before they're posted here, so besides the discussion all these threads offer me is translations and edits, and a tiny bit of OC.

Didn't the original translation of this have a bunch of horrible puns?

A lot of yukkuri images seem to, so it probably did. The version on the yukkubooru site has them localized; 'headkurai' shrine, 'horrible orifice -> horrifice'

From R to L:
1)
One day, when Yukkuris were sunbathing
"Yuyu yuu-n"
"Grow easy"

2)
A sudden geurilla rainstorm started falling
"It's Raaaaaaain!"

3)
They hurry home, but the nest is flooded
"Deibu's houuuuuuze!!"

>geurilla rainstorm
That's a weird way of referring to a sudden storm. Is that a phrase in japanese, or is it just as weird in japanese as in english?

Does anyone have the series made by the one western artist, about Reimu hiding from a group of Alices? It doesn't seem to be on yukkubooru. Also, did he ever finish it?
