Again, most people seem to confuse Knights with any douche in armor. Knights are the elite chosen of a King for their honorable duties to the nation.

It kind of depends on few things. Do they start the battle mounted? Do they use ranged weaponry? Knights mostly used their swords only when they really had to.
But even with these, knight would win. Great-swords break bones when they hit, you don't block something like that with katana.

I always found it amusing that the samurai had to be so damn fast on the draw. I mean, seriously, when you have to cut your opponent's head off before he cuts yours off because if either of you parries BOTH your swords shatter and a third guy comes along and kills both of you-

What really happens:

The Knights and Samurai see each other. The Samurai call the Knights' mothers pigs. The Knights call the Samurai mothers dogs. That's when it's on. Everyone pulls out their weapons, point them in the air, and yell, "Charge!"

Then they sit back while their conscripted peasants slam into each other like retarded children. When one side starts to lose, they ride off back to base and leave the troops to die or get captured.

Then both sides get drunk back at base, brag about their "heroic" exploits, and send out an order for more troops.
