The simple version is this.

In CT, you killed Lavos.
This killed all the Lavoses who existed in the future and HIGHLY pissed them off.
Destroyed-Future-Lavos is apparently powerful enough to maintain a level of existence in a nonexistent location (Darkness Beyond Time) and it was going to destroy all of time and space because it was goddamn pissed.

The entirety of CC is the same as CT; powering yourself up to the point where you can challenge Lavos.

(Remember how you could fight Lavos immediately after learning to cast magic in The End of Time? But you would probably just get owned? Yeah. Except FATE decided Serge doesn't get that leisure and HAS to power him up.)

It also sucked that Nadia's kingdom got burnt to the ground.

This was my first VN. I thought it was pretty good back then, but now I'm all nostalgic about it and I feel like it's damn good, even though I know it's not THAT good.

Radical Dreamers was enjoyable.
The music was the best part, as with the entire Chrono series.

Crono and Marle were never stated to be dead. You see their "ghosts", but they look like little kids, and Lucca died somewhere in her late 30s, so you can't really say that was her "ghost". Most people think it's a projection of the Planet to Serge, taking the form of it's last heroes.

And it doesn't change ANYTHING. CC took place in an area that DIDN'T EVEN EXIST YET in CT.

After the events of CT, Lucca and Belthasar (Guru of Reason and maker of the Epoch) work together across millenia and create FATE.
FATE gets chucked through time because it's an affront to god (read: the Planet), but Belthasar planned that anyway because he knows everything.
FATE in the past makes El Nido over 10000 years.

So, Crono and Marle, as they know it, saw a landmass pop out of fucking nowhere.
