Daiso or Kinokuniya if you live close to either of those. In the worst case, they sometimes sell them at cons for about 2-4 dollars for one, so that will do in a pinch. I recommend getting them ASAP to beat the inevitable rush when people figure shit out.

Daiso is your best bet. They come in packs of three for 1.50. I seriously have stacks of those three-packs in my closet in prep for cons because they're the standard in Japan and because some merch items aren't allowed.

As for the sketch...I think it's a little rude, but it's something like asking for multiple autographs for people with lots of merch. I would say try your luck and ask the interpreter, not the artist. The biggest problem is that they often need to do hundreds of autographs and a sketch for every person is very time consuming. If they do a sketch, they usually won't do requests, or will limit it to only a couple choices. Still, I've seen some incredibly nice guests go hours over their time to make sure everyone gets something.

My most hyped is Shinoasa of the Vivit Gray doujin group since I'm a huge yurifag. Then after that, Minakata Sunao for his 2hu works then Akuma no Riddle for the same reasons. Banpai Akira is pretty hype too; I honestly love the character designs but I never beat Koumajou Densetsu and gave up.

Then Ideolo, I honestly never heard of him/her until the first Touhoucon ran along, but his art is okay.

I've read Kozou's works(or just one, the Alice one), but never remembered the name in particular.

I think you have a better chance with niche cons. I've been to smaller ones and I can tell you the experience is just as shitty. On the other hand, they didn't have guests of this caliber. Touhou-con has actually been the most promising small con I've ever seen.

I've always seen it as a trade-off, either a more mellow, less shitty atmosphere, but nothing worth seeing, or putting up with all that bullshit to see the important stuff. The big issue here is that I don't really socialize beyond small talk while waiting for things so I can't appreciate the "social" aspect of a con. In fact, I kind of hate the "social" aspect of it because I associate it with loud obnoxious douchebags and attention-seeking whores that take up space. I'm not there for the "anime rave." What's wrong with enjoying life? Yes, I personally know those "Anime rave meme swag" people who yell out memes about shows they've never watched, and go to anime conventions exclusively to drink and rave.

They're just people. If you don't like that type of person, then don't speak to them--they're usually pretty fun, by the way. They're certainly not the majority, even at cons like AX or ALA(A lot of weeb ravers tend to keep raves and cons separate, because con "raves" tend to be lame as shit).

Also, they're not too cool on multiple autographs unless you have different kinds of merch and they're nice. They might also personalize your autograph because they want to discourage selling them (also why they generally don't allow multiple ones). TAM concert was fucking amazing; I can't even begin to describe how good it was.

The Satellite concert was pretty cool, though there was way too much talking and meme spouting retards. I was near the front where all the people were shouting. The entire convention was pretty good for such a small con. Probably not coming back for Sunday since there's nothing that interests me.
