From Onscripter, as I head Kiri² was pretty much its evolution.

Actually to tell you the truth, the english documentation of Nscript isn't even complete. It's mostly complete but I have noticed bits missing. Those fancy 20 space save game menus you see in some games for example, they never documented how to do that. The only way to make it is by reverse-engineering existing games.

I had much fun hacking through spaghetti code before finally finding out what was happening.

I always wanted to do a VN, though naturally I was kept back due to not being able to produce any graphics so it would be more like the old days text adventures.

KiriKiri sounds a little tempting but the lack of documentation sounds scary.

Ren'Py is a good engine i hear. It's syntax is alot more object oriented i think.

Onscripter has it's charm though. Coding in it is like coding in C language. It's needlessly complicated but if you master it it does give you alot of power.

That said I bet you could find music anywhere and backgrounds + sprites would exist in CG sets. I'm just not sure which CGs would mix well and if anyone would enjoy stolen graphics.

The other issue of course is what to write it all in. Most useful for future jobs and such would probably be from scratch and C#/Java/Python and such. But then it could also just be for fun and use some simple script language.
