If and when virtual reality will exists one day I am sure we will surely make gensokyo a reality.
And I am also 100% sure, at that time the border between virtual live and reality will have almost be non-existant.

I had a dream about Gensokyo the other day.
As someone who doesn't normally have very strong and vivid dreams, this was very jarring to me.
Oddly enough, it was Remelia who found and took me in for the duration of my stay there, even though I don't like her all that much.
I was woken during the middle of it, and I desperately want to see the rest of it.
It felt so real that I almost believed that it had actually happened, /jp/.

But there could be a dimension where a non-magical Gensokyo could exist. Like a feudal Japanese town inhabited with people sharing the same names, appearance and personality as the 2hus, and where the relationships between them is the same as in Gensokyo despite being no magic or anything breaking the laws of physics. You could still have thousand years old touhous due to them belonging to another species of humans living longer. I don't know if you could still call that Gensokyo though.

My understanding of armchair science says that all theories concerning the origins of the universe and the problem of inflation of the early universe dictate that the universe is either infinite or part of an infinite sum of 'universes'.

Therefore, in an infinite reality, Gensokyo MUST exist.

Infinity doesn't make everything possible. Some fantasies are too improbable to be accomplished even when the RNG can be rolled an unlimited number of times... (´・ω・`)

>> No.13218931

I am pretty sure that every logically consistent causal universe "exists" to the same extant that ours does, and that people embedded inside them have experiences just as real as you or I.

So yeah Gensokyo exists.

>> No.13218936

>>13218878
>Some fantasies are too improbable
And some flat-out contradict themselves. There cannot, for example, be a reality in which spacetime is 3-dimensional containing 17-dimensional matter. You can't have a reality in which 1+1 always equals 2 and, simultaneously, 1+1 never equals 2.

Moreover, for any cardinality of "infinite" that you place on a sum of "infinite" universes, I can come up with a property that has more degrees of freedom than that cardinality allows. You can stick Q into N all you want, but you'll never fit R, nor C[0,1], nor C(C[0,1]).
