Didn't go into art, so unemployment's currently due to social anxiety. Or something. Whatever it is, I'm not actively looking for a job, so I volunteer my time.

The no brain quip is because I failed statistics and fear accounting. I'd already failed sociology and wasn't looking forward to paying up the arse for it. Biggest distraction at the time was animeondvd.com and 4chan. 4 years later and I never left.

[I had pretty good chances to get into Parsons, with recommendations from the art director herself, but I got sticker shock.]

Trust me, I milked the hostess postition for a couple of years until I went after the big money: waitressing. Its an odd job that can net from $80 on a bad day and $240 on a fucking great day.

Left school in 2000, got my MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) in a 3 month course, started doing over the phone tech support for various large OEMs (Gateway, HP, Compaq), moved into internal support for Australia wide corporations (15,000 desktop base), been teaching myself Japanese for the past three years (while still working full time, just got my JLPT Level 3) and moving to Tokyo in the next month or two, now earning AU65K a year.

Unfortunately, the only way to get paid more is to move out of Desktop into Server support, so once I hit Tokyo I'll be getting my MCSA.

Don't scoff at Microsoft Certifications. Sure, I help MCSE's every day locate their Outlook PSTs (groan) but I have 7 years of experience behind them so they actually mean something.

Whoa strong emotion is strong. Yeah, it sucked and making sure everyone participated every class killed me. I'd turn beet red and start stuttering like an idiot. I'd feel like Kugayama from genshiken.

I went to Japan on a gift ticket [no lieeeeee] but with only 2 weeks of knowing I stopped my enrollment at school [a no no for an already bad gpa], packed my shit up, and left my job. I work with normal people, and most are actors, singers, dancers, etc. Aka hipsters. I'm a pretty good bluffer and managed to fit in and be accepted.
I got the ticket with a job offer attached, only to not have it come through when I got there. Stranded but happy I blew threw my savings and spent nearly half off it on stuff. Now that I'm back my old friends keep trying to reach me and contact me but the shame, she is too great. I still haven't returned any calls or emails, and I don't think I will.

Hence the 'life's shit' response.

hmm, when you put it that way it doesn't sound so bad.

Thing is, everyone I worked with are backstabbing hoes, but fun people at that. I'm not a well adjusted person so I could never be sure if thats how normal people are or just whiteys. Its like they can't wait for you to fail so they can all get together and gossip and gloat [saw it happen on more than one occasion]. I'd rather they have nothing to say about me at all. I miss 2 or 3 friends, but seeing how they're all friends I don't think its wise to put myself back in there again. What am I supposed to tell them about my current wonderful life?
Also uncomfortable that my kitchen friends all wished the best for me, and really didn't want me to go. I can't lie to the guy that calls me hija [daughter], so I'm sure I'll end up looking like a maniac bawwling my lying eyes out.

Its a fact that others can't love you if you don't love yourself, and thats the problem I have now. I'm wanting to see a psychiatrist for a while now but running into problems on the health insurance part.

Planning on heading back to the states in a few months and attempting to major in Digital Arts and Experimental Media if I can get accepted into the program I want, Computer Science if not, but I don't really want to major in CS as the year of it I found to be sort of dull, but there's nothing else I want to major in either that will actually be useful. The point of the qwerty keyboard was to purposely slow down typing speeds. Back in ye olde typewriter eras, if you typed too fast, the... shit, I don't know what you call them, but the things that strike the paper would get tangled up. So, they developed the qwerty layout, designed *specifically* to hinder your typing.
