FATAL's vaginal circumference formula is too simplistic. Mine at least takes into account:
age, puberty progression, body size, genetics, etc for the base size. (stretching/etc is applied afterwards)

FATAL's was just based on whether you were a human, orc, etc and on which age-bracket (which were very wide brackets).

Although since adding in the genetic component I seem to have fucked something up, as it's giving this cute 13yo French girl (who is super cute and blonde and wearing a blue school uniform which compliments her hair colour!!) a 2" circ vag/ass. That is is unreasonably tight for a 13yo. I'll have to debug to see what happened.

Why can't the rest of the world use imperial units? It's not like it matters what you use to measure if everything is consistent. I'm not the anon who originally complained about the imperial system, but he's right. France attempted to adopt a decimal hour system once, but people didn't want to give up on the traditional system they were already used to, just like the US is resistant to SI.

I once developed a decimal calendar with 10 months and 10-day weeks, along with a decimal hour system. I asked several people their opinion on it and they would just find it bad because it was not like the current system. I'm aware of that, we're bound to Earth's rotation and translation. My solution was something like that:

9 months of 40 days;
4 weeks of 10 days;
1 month of 5 days (6 on leap years);

It is a bit arbitrary, since we should work with the 365 basis, but it's really easy to calculate dates with this.
05/06 in current system is 31+28(9)+31+30+31+5.
In the new model, it'd be 40+40+40+40+40+5.

The time of the day has no need to stay at 24 hours, since a second's tick is also arbitrarily defined as 9,1 billions of radiation periods of Cesium 133. You just recalculate it in a way to divide the day in 10 hours of 100 minutes and 100 seconds.

I had written a somewhat long post about what I would have liked to be changed after giving it arelisten but I stupidly lost it. Summarily, it would be nice if the drum patter varied more, because I think they are too uniform. The rising bass part at 3:42 sounds extremely discordant and ugly, even though it's somewhat hard to hear. It would have been nice if you deceptively substituted a chord just before the last sixth of the song for dramatic effect, ideally at 4:03. But that is more about personal taste, so you can ignore me.

>> No.12839369

>>12839317
>The rising bass part at 3:42 sounds extremely discordant and ugly
It is. I haven't learned my scales yet so I try to refrain from improvising fills (which usually result in something off key like that) but I get into playing it and can't help myself. I hate having a bass part that is too uniform, like the drums. I tried adding more crashes for dynamics and fills, but it really felt like the song needed to maintain that constant disco-y groove. I did implement a 16th hi-hat beat at the end for increased urgency though.

And I'll try that. I'm still learning and getting a feel for writing songs, so I'm hesitant to break from a good sounding progression out of fear I'm making potentially bad sounding changes just for changes sake.

The one thing I'm curious about is, provided I sing the songs, do you think my tracks would work in a live setting? With a drummer/bassist/guitarist? I don't care if people think the songs are weird, I just wonder if they'd translate to a rock band well.

When you feel like the listener gets accustomed to the chord progression, you can replace chords, but don't over do it too much if you are new to this.

I think it sounds pretty close.

The guitar and bass in my songs are the actual instruments, but everything else is from my keyboard or sample banks. My keyboard is very cheap, so it doesn't sound very good, but it's all I have to make do with. As far as sounding bland and thin, I have limited mastering knowledge.

Soundwise, yes. Compositionally, his tracks are more mature, for a lack of a better word. His uses of harmony are very rich and the form of that track is very satisfying. While yours plays it more safe.

I think the word you meant is mixing.

>> No.12842378

No, mixing is spatially placing and orienting instruments and sounds, adjusting their volumes, to have them all mesh well in the mix. Mastering would be stuff like compression, EQ, limiting, etc. that would give it a fuller and more rounded sound.

I do play it safe though, I'll try to be more interesting and varied in my future songs.

>> No.12842396

>>12842303
I don't think what you do sounds much like that . Maybe it's the English library, but your Miku has too much consonants, too many words, while he does it more minimalistically and with lots of vowel sustains.
Also articulation needs some work, do you edit the pitch curve on single syllables? That might help you.

The music is very lovely, I personally prefer a Miku than some common vocals on it, but I'm a very specific demographic, even in /jp/'s standards Miku sounds annoying for a fat share of people. If you want to make your songs more accessible (and intelligible for that matter), sing them yourself.

Yea, all I intend for miku is for her to act like a sort of placeholder. I live with a lot of people, so practicing and singing my songs isn't really feasible, so this gives me an opportunity to work on and write my songs I wouldn't have otherwise.

Of course I want her to sound good in the meantime, but I understand a lot of people think negatively of vocaloid, and are probably turned away from my songs as soon as they hear that chipmunk voice.

And yea, I think that problem lies in the differences between Japanese and English. It seems easier to express notions lyrically in Japanese with far less use of syllables, where in English you really have to string together a lot of words. Especially since I want my lyrics to express a lot, and not be very simple. It's hard making it semi-complex, but just enough words to fit a melody.

Here's one song that does have my singing: https://ifyoureanangelyouwillsuffocateonearth.bandcamp.com/track/cease-to-exist

Please excuse my absolute lack of pitch. A lot of people who have heard the song said they enjoyed how amateur and off-key it sounded however, and said my voice was cute. So maybe if I sang with more enthusiasm, it could be a good improvement to my songs.

hey /jp/, anybody here successfully made "anime" 3D models?

I know how to use modelling programs, but moving 2D art into 3D is such a pain, especially for "anime-style" art.

I'm trying to keep the polys down because the model is going to be in a game, and there are going to be more than 300 of that at a time. Making the hair and properly texturing it is stupidly difficult.

>inb4 go to /3/
It is a slow board and I've tried. It is not the right place to ask for "anime" 3D. Since "キャラクターをつくろう! 3DCG日和" is not uploaded, it is hard to find easy and simple yet quality tutorials.

So how does one manage to make decent "anime" 3D? Is there a specific search term or free online (preferably Japanese) decent tutorials to achieve this?

Also, please c-comment on attached file. It's the last time I've ever drawn. Similar proportions is what I'd like to reach in 3D.

DUDE, your pitch a shit, is that somehow intentional? Sometimes it really feels original when you sing it off, I can see that, but that should be just a once in a while thing with overall more solid singing, like Denpa does.

I'd say your problem (judging by this track) is half lack of enthusiasm (as you pointed) and half hitting the notes. I know how hard it can be getting your voice out as training, specially living with other people, I'm always concerned about disturbing others.
I owe part of my okay singing skills to the days where I would go to university by foot and sing out loud amidst the traffic, where no one could hear me.
If you can have moments like this, do eet.

Besides all that, I still think people will prefer you singing than Miku.

>>12842518
I see you did a slight pan on the voices to make it a duet, but you should try, instead, making one hollow and the other centered. Put a chorus and fiddle with the Stereo degrees, you'll see how it goes.

You fucker, don't you dare stop Vocaloiding, it sounds fun as hell.
Less reverb on her voice and it will do fine, I really dig the happy percussion combined with her singing. German, right? What is it about?

>> No.12844069

>>12843942
I'd say it's half intentional, because I love singers that just sound disgusting and really go crazy, so I'm not really worried about sounding that clean, but I was very pitch deaf when I recorded that. I've been practicing a ton and getting more confident with it since then, improving my control and singing with in my range instead of straining.

The problem with the lack of enthusiasm is I'm very very autistic about recording vocals when I know people can hear me. My friend was upstairs in his room when I recorded that so it made me super awkward and hesitant (as you can hear in my screams). That is the biggest hurdle I have to get over and when I do, I think my performance will improve immensely.

Whenever I hang with my friends I play guitar and sing, which has really helped.

Also, when I talk about disgusting singers, I mean like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qovS8CWlb5M He's my biggest inspiration.

This is something I think you could do to please both worlds:

And I saw this band the other day, which is pretty much not hitting notes all along, and it's still pretty popular:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rOcYi_y0a8 (la dispute - andria)

Whatever you decide, do it with strong intent, no chance of recording when you're playing with your friends? Maybe that's a good environment to let your lungs out.

Christmas time sucks because it means I can't work on things (plus I did a few other things). Although I finally got back into the groove of working on my game. It took a little while because I didn't program for a week so I forgot what little I knew.

It fades to black and moves the player to a place still on the same scene. I intend to do this to anything else that may be important just because I find the idea of going to an entirely different scene excessive to do for minor stuff PLUS I'd have to create a bunch of variables of r things when changing between scenes which is ass. I'd much rather take the path of least resistance.

This means I can now add all the caves and secret areas I could ever want into a level. I think in the end I'd like to make it so the transition is a bunch of slowly turning squares that grow in size instead of just fading but that requires learning more about programming.

Well, what you are trying to replicate really isn't my thing either then. I like it a lot more if artists actually make Vocaloid sound somewhat clean, like - For instance - Utsu-P, who is my favourite Vocaloid-artist.
Otherwise, nobody gets close to Mitchie-M, who manages to make her sound like an actual human while maintaining the original Vocaloid-vibe.

As for the instrument tracks, but do you use to record your guitar and bass? It sounds just too weak.
Are you mixing it so quiet because there is noise in the background or for style?
If the recording is somewhat clear of noise, I'd recommend simply using multiple copies of the same track, up to two or three.

>>12842435
To be honest with you, if that is your singing voice, you really should stay with Vocaloid. Dirty singing is all well and good, I like it as well, depending on how hard it is off-pitched. Because really, even dirty vocals need to blend inside the overall composition. And sometimes the completely disregard of that can lead to rather weird results. Concerning your example, yet again, I don't like that, even though it becomes bearable and even somewhat nice-sounding after the second half, when he doesn't really scream like a pig being slain.

So I guess I can't really give you too much an advice on your singing, since the is a different in taste. But I still recommend trying to do it a little less off-pitch. Honestly, that teeny-weenie voice of yours made me want to punch you sometimes, even though, the music itself is fine, even if a little boring.

I record my guitar and bass line-in. I do record multiple overdubs of guitar to make it stereo, but the reason it's so quiet is because there are so many instruments and things going on in most of the song. The guitar isolated is very loud and powerful so if I were to raise it too much in the mix it would overwhelm everything and make the song tiring and fatiguing to listen to. So I sort of push it to the background as a texture. Less busy songs I have it in the foreground and dominant when needed.

Even though I want my singing to be a little off-key, I will admit that it's bad. I've really been working to improve and anything else I record won't be that unenthusiastic sounding and like a "shy pre-puberty nerd". I'm sorry you didn't like my voice, but there are people who have told me they do, so I do believe if I can get better control of it I can make good songs with it. People like Jeff Mangum have some of the weirdest, worst singing voices in the world yet they make beautiful songs.

Also, you didn't really like the vocaloid I linked. A lot of the music I take notes from people wouldn't enjoy. It's hard to get constructive criticism when the music that is influencing you would get so much criticism itself.

I don't think you got worse. It looks relatively the same except your linework has gotten cleaner. Your faces look off and your poses look awkward, but don't worry, you're not getting worse.

What are you drawing with? The lines are so thin, and the coloring almost looks like pixel shading.

I think I said your drawings had a flat look when you first posted October's piece. That isn't transpired by the sketchy ones because we tend to mentally "clean" it in a pleasing way, but what you do is to clean it more than necessary. Some line overlapping is necessary to create depth, and some form is lost when you clean, that's natural. What you have to learn is how to lose the least information in this process.

If you clean that February drawing (which is rather simple), I can give you specific feedback on how to treat your lines.

I see that you like contrapuntal stuff, but the counterpoint here is pretty weak: many parallel fifths and octaves, voices that get lost, many dissonances in a row, that kind of stuff.
Also, you still don't have any regards for harmony. I'm seeing lots of stuff that don't even make sense in pop music, chord retrogressions like I64 to ii.
Don't get discouraged. I used to do the same thing.
http://a.pomf.se/snrlhc.mid
I composed this at the start of the year as an exercise. This is the perfect example of counterpoint without any regards to harmony.
If you'd like, I could write a short tutorial to adress these problems.

I'll read the book anyways, so if it's in there, you don't have to overdetail it..

About chord retrogressions, that's probably because I'm not exactly making a thoughtful progression. I just choose a bass sequence (single notes) and add other instrument voices over it. Preferably something that is within a chord range, but without regard for the overall progression. I have always been a "melody person" and it's been only one semester since I started to hear any harmony at all in music.
This one was done with a set chord progression in mind, but I find that very limiting:

Alright, the first thing we need to do is to think harmonically. That is, always having harmony on mind.
If you want to write a melody playing it safe, you need to know how to approach non chord tones that don't make up the part of the harmony (the chord progression), so they don't clash with other notes or the harmony.
Passing notes are non chord tone that appears stepwise between two chord tones, sometimes they are 2 or more in a sucession.
The appogiatura is a non chord tone approached from a leap and resolved in the opposite direction, usually approached by an upwards leap and left in a rythmically strong position (accented).
The neighbour is approached and resolved by the same note, stepwise.
Scape tones are approached by step and resolved by leap, usually unaccented.
The anticipation is just what it sound like.
You don't have to follow these formulas, but they are extremely helpful in counterpoint.
I'll add a second voice in the next post. It'll take me a while.

http://a.pomf.se/muzqpz.mid

The chords in the bass clef is the harmony implied my the melody written explicitly. Even if I remove the chords, you'll still be able to hear them, although a bit different, no sevenths and no inversions.
The progressions here is:
i - V+7 - VI(7) - v6/5 - V/V 4/2 - v6 - V7 with a b10 or #9 - i
Harmony is a extensive topic so I can't help you very much, but I can tell you what kind of progressions sounds bad (to my ears): Rising fifths like V - ii - VI; Rising thirds outside of i - III - v - VII to like ii to IV; V or viiº to anything that doesn't have the tonic in it except other dominant chords like viiº or V/V; ii to I doesn't sound that bad, but it's more of a modal thing.

>The chords in the bass clef is the harmony implied by the melody written explicitly*
I forgot to mention that the first note that aligns with each chord in treble clef is part of the implied harmony.

>>12851498
This one was done with a set chord progression in mind, but I find that very limiting
You just can think of the harmony after you've finished the melody, but if you start to add more notes on top without thinking of harmony you'll end with something that sounds not so good.

I'm not a native so it takes me some time to write a post in english.

I swear, it doesn't me take me this much time to compose.
Counterpoint is pretty easy. You can have two notes sounding at the same time if they both belong to the harmony, and you can move from there to anywhere, as long it doesn't move in parallel motion(both notes go to the same direction contrary to contrary motion, duh) to a perfect octave or a perfect fifth (harmonic intervals), because the voices start to lose independence. Parallel fourths are ok for some reason.
If you want a note that doesn't belong to the harmony to sound at the same time with one that does, it must preferably be approached and left by the formulas in the last post. You can have to non chords tones sounding at the same time as long as they resolve, like two passing notes sounding at the same time.
Hidden fifths and hidden octaves are explained in the image.
If only one voice moves of the two, there will never be a hidden fifth, because there is no parallel motion, this is called oblique motion.
The rest of the image is pretty much self explanatory.
I will apply these things to the melody in the last post, and it'll take a while. If you have any question just ask me.

Thanks for your opinion.
I was actually worried about the drums being too quiet, but listening to it without a headache makes clear that they are indeed very prominent.
About the lead guitar, at least for now it's intended. I added a chorus effect on the lead guitar because I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the sound of hitting the high strings properly.
But I will take that in account of course.

Is the overall composition somehow bearable? Do melody and rythm work together fine and is there enough variation to the song?

The main thing I've learned is not to make those parallel fifths, something I recognized from my music because I try to stay in chord tones with both voices to blend them a bit, but your comparisons show how they can be done differently and more pleasing.

My ear is still pretty immature as well, so I'll keep pushing and hearing these subtleties.

Should it impregnate both lolis, or just one?

Whose last name should the loli get?

Should I just randomly make one loli the "male" and use that name and make the other one get knocked up?

I just realized if I let two lolis mate, they will always produce females, since there's no Y chromosomes involved.

Then again I don't handle gender, so even the ones with XY still appear and act female.

>>12857282

What time zone are you in? Perhaps I could release it before I go to bed.

Also, what operating system are you on? I haven't tried to compile the game on OSX/Linux, but theoretically it should work. I do have the game compiling on both MSVC++ and GCC's G++ on Windows though.

Oh... I know what I definitely need to fix... there's this bug where sometimes anything in a scrollbar will appear upside-down. Should I use time to figure out if I can get something to automatically test this and correct it on its own, or should I just make the (potentially very few) people it happens to open the console (pic related) and type "set unflip_textures 1"? (which has support already)

>Also, how should i handle time progression *for the demo only*? Should it pass at a rate of x days/second? Should there be a 'advance week/month/year' button somewhere?
Days per seconds is way too fast. Days per minute is much better. Instead of just having time skip keys, they should be actual actions that can be taken. Sleeping in should skip a day or two. Vacation should skip a week. If you're trying to skip entire months, that means there aren't enough things to do in the game. Maybe change the scale to weeks instead of days and make the period last several minutes.

This should be a selectable option, or a random chance with certain races having a greater chance of double impregnation.

>Whose last name should the loli get?
Depends on race. Some use hyphens and combine both names. Otherwise, the name of the one who didn't get impregnated. If they were both pregnant, it should be user chosen or hypenated. Do want lolis with eight names.

>Oh... I know what I definitely need to fix... there's this bug where sometimes anything in a scrollbar will appear upside-down.
This should definitely be fixed asap, without typing into a console. If it's rare enough, just release the demo and put a note on how to fix it manually. Maybe add a flip button to the corners of the boxes as a temporary fix?

If nothing happens before birth, there could be a skip to childbirth option, or a fast mode for days per second.

(And for Japanese lolis I have them have only a 2/3 chance of school uniform and 1/3 of blue sukumizu, and hawaiian ones are always hula skirts... of course I just put this in for fun, I could change it later).

There are some more mobile sea slugs and snails around, maybe you can use them? Lion's mane nudibranchs have an inflatable hood that they trap small animals in, they're also decent swimmers in a pinch and can capture jellies. There are also active swimmers like Phylliroe, which exclusively targets jellyfish both as larvae and as adults (the larvae are parasitic in their bells while the adults consume them whole). You can also add sea angels or heteropods, both are capable swimmers and some heteropods feed on jellyfish. Cone snails can also attack from afar with their harpoon teeth despite being unable to swim.

The lobster battle looks very nice, though. Darius meets Ecco meets Metal Slug.

The hands thing was half unintentional and half intentional. This drawing is just me trying a new coloring technique, and actually spent hours trying to figure out how to make it look like I had in mind. I usually leave the hands for the last thing I color but I spent like 4 hours on this and I just wanted to get done with it when it was time to color the hands. If you notice, the "flowers" are just copy paste all over the place. And the hair isn't shaded like the rest of the body because it was the first thing I started to color.

I like how it turned out despite all, is the first time I try this sort of coloring. I'm the one who posted >>12834245 Once I get the hang of this I will stop hiding the hands.

take it easy anon, this isn't a case of hand hiding, hand hiding is like BREAK the shoulders because the hands are going behind the back. There's a tact to it. And usually a well thought out picture doesnt need to obey that rule.

https://sfml-dev.org/

I used version 2.1 but 2.0 worked too and I used to use that and I would assume 2.2 might work.

http://www.sfml-dev.org/tutorials/2.2/start-linux.php

You'll have to link against that as I'm using it for a graphics library. You'll need -lsfml-graphics, -lsfml-window and -lsfml-system.

I don't use the networking or graphics parts so those aren't needed.

(Also I should note you'll need a relatively modern C++ compiler since I use C++11 extensively so you'll need to -std=c++11 as an argument.)

I remember reading somewhere that these dots represent the printing raster in a stylelised way. Amplitude modulation is the only rastering that I know that uses different sized dots for halftones roughly the way presented here. I don't think of it as dithering because when I hear or read dithering I think of pixels. But since it's just a style gimmick and does not create actual halftones the differentiation is not really important, I guess.

I hope that this is a satisfying answer.

I for one don't find it exactly cute, but if you want to make it a bit more menacing, you can take the eye highlight away. Maybe that's where people are finding it cute.

I think your game will have some pretty spooky moments.

I hope you don't mind the changes I made, because not much is left from the original bassline.
This took me more than I had hoped, and I didn't even finish. I had to scrap two versions because I ran into a deadend, if you could call it like that, so I decided to replace the bassline.
I looked at the notes in strong beats to decide how to harmonize it, while considering the next chord.
I changed the melody and form a little because as someone already said, it has some phrasing issues, mainly the sincopated third beat figure that appears a lot at the end of 4 bar phrases, the one that sounds like an afterthough. Also, I got rid of the doublings but there's nothing wrong with them, so you can keep them.

I don't know how but I doubled the tempo accidentally, so you'll have to slow it down.
If you have any question about the changes, just ask me, but I hope the music speaks for itself.
Here's the PDF.

So, I'm having the hardest time setting this up for almost 2 hours now, for some reason I can't put your tracks into the original VSTs because the notes make no sound (and the VST stops working at all in the project).

For now I just fixed the tempo and muted the drums to listen everything as MIDI church organ, can't relate much with the original. I'll keep trying after the urge to punch something goes away., so keep tuned.

You're going to be able to do it anytime you're not attacking and above an enemy. It won't do damage on an enemy whose guard isn't broken but you'll still jump off.

Right I''m using a single hitbox per animation,so it's all innacurate since I'm just testing the attack animations. There's going to be different hitboxes per frame later.
