The babymetal/perfume deals were organized by their own staff in association local promoters, I presume.

Denpa seems to rely on being booked rather than being selfproducing, so they would have to go to an event to do it. Has London MCM expo had any idols or bands?

At today's Horseracing event, the girls had a talk about their goals for next year.

One of them was to do a theme song for an anime. Especially Eimi was real excited about doing it.

Denpagumi (yeah it's DeMpa, but I read it as Denpa) is getting a special exhibit at TV Asahis SUM showroom in Tokyos Roppongi Hills.

Outfits, PVs, stage props and other memorable items will be on display. The exhibits runs from march 31st until april 22nd.

I'm mostly glad Dempagumi showed me that all idol groups aren't generic AKB48 imitations.

While they don't sound super similar, I can pretty much thank Dempa for getting me into the likes of Team Syachihoko, Up Up Girls, Hiroshima MAPLES, etc, if it weren't for stumbling upon them and giving them a chance, I probably would've continued to avoid idol groups like the plague, and assume they all did slow, ballady, plain music. Even when Dempa DOES do a ballady song, there's still something high energy and fun about it.

I knew Nemu had a 5 second voice cameo but Risa and Eimi actually do the singing voices for pretty important characters. They're the god idol unit in the show.

Yep, she was bullied. She never graduated from high school.

A bit more on the backstory:

As Mirin was bullied, she decided to shut herself in her room and just play games. After some convincing from her parents, they got her to come out from her room and she found that game centers were a place where she could pursue her interest of games and meet likeminded people.

Nemu studied at an art academy, as it was always her dream. Unfortunately, her teachers and peers thought she wasn't all that good. "That ain't art". During this time, Densha Otoko was popular and Akibakei was mainstream. Thus, she went to get inspiration from Akiba.

During her research, she met a girl at a maid cafe. That girl was Eimi, a girl who had moved to Tokyo to study and pursued her dreams in Akihabara as a maid. They both ended up working together at the same maid cafe and joined DearStage together.

Moga graduated from high school and thought that it's all she needs. She was hooked on Ragnarok Online. So she played all day and all night, as a NEET/hikikomori. Why should she work hard, her siblings were also NEETs. The family fell into financial trouble and everyone had to pitch in somehow. She did odd jobs here and there. She was scouted by Mofuku-chan when she worked as a press conference attendant and was asked to join DearStage. Part of her decision to join DenpaGumi was to be able to support her family as they were already signed to a major label during the time she joined.

When Moga was introduced to Mirin, they chatted about their common interest. It turned out they both played RO. And they played at the same time at the same server. Turns out, they both were members
in rival guilds.

Risa didn't have much friends, actually none at all. She just listened to the radio all the time and heard seiyuu and anime songs. Eventually, she fell into the world of otaku and gothic lolita etc. Everyone around her thought it was silly, to the point that her mother just threw away all of her skull candles and so on.

Risa started working at maid cafes during her high school years. After graduating, she moved to Tokyo and studied singing at a vocational school while juggling the maid life.

Mirin's parents eventually divorced and she went to Tokyo with her father. She also worked at maid cafes and was somewhat of a cosplay celeb. It's also noted that his father is allegedly a huge Nemu-oshi and can be seen with one green glowstick and one red glowstick at gigs. He even bought a ticket to the Budokan gig as he wanted to have better seats than the guest seating.

Pinky was scouted to join DearStage after her videos started getting attention on Nico Nico Douga. As said well, her mother and father were both huge otakus. Both were cosplayers and Pinky's mom also drew doujinshi. Pinky ended up going to the most recent Comiket with her cousin, her mother and her aunt.

All of these tidbits of data have been gathered from interviews, tweets, blog posts and their radio show.

Back when Dempagumi was trying to get off into bigger things, Mirin wanted to get a professional choreographer to do their choreography. She found Yumiko, a famous dancer on nico nico, and decided to ask her.

The producer asked her "where do you think we can get the money to pay her?"

Hearing that, Mirin had an event where she was wearing bloomers and sold pictures of her in bloomers. Those sold pretty well, since Yumiko is still doing choreography for them.
