What Ange saw during episode 4?
In that fisherman house?

I read somewhere, that she saw a bag of Sakutaros and understanded, that this lion toy was not handmade, but a simply mass procuted thing.

Is that true?
Where this was confirmed?
And what this mean? That it's it was not important, that he was or not handmade, but the "magic" part in him was the fact, that Rosa gave him as a present to Maria?

It's left intentionally ambiguous, likely to tie in with the "without love it can't be seen" mantra.

For all we know, what Ange saw could have been a plush toy inspired by the original Sakutarou.

>> No.12463139

It's heavily implied, especially since Beatrice found that "solution" to the problem of resurrecting Sakutarou very painful.

I am dumb, though, and completely missed that until my 2nd playthrough of Umineko. I actually had another explanation for it, but I forgot what that was.

It depends. There are different levels of witches, anyway.

Regular Witch: Someone who uses "magic," which is basically the power of delusions (Maria, Beatrice, Ange of the future).

Voyager Witch: Someone who travels from fragment to fragment (Bernkastel, Lambda) and is above the meta level. Basically, they're equivalent to us actual humans, and are readers of stories looking for simple enjoyment.

Creator Witch: Most powerful level, someone who creates worlds and fragments themselves (Featherine). Like a voyager witch, but an author instead of a reader. Some people would say that Featherine is a self-insert for Ryukishi07.

I just re-read all of the Umineko and I've got a few questions.
What actually happened during episode 5 and 6? They weren't Beato games so were they even relevant?
I know that the entire story is in episodes 1-4 and 5-8 are just the hints but I'm still curious what was the truth. Did Yasu kill everyone again?

Really? I'm sorry, but it pissed me off.

First of all, there was literally no point in Chiru at which any versions of "Battler" and "Beatrice" were even close to being as entertaining as they were in the question arcs, other than "Battler" teaming up with Lambdadelta and Ange. At least Erika took his place for some of it though.

Second, Yasu is the second worst character in Umineko. She ruins Beatrice, and she ruins the mystery by making the answer that everyone had in mind but didn't want to believe the truth. She also ruins Chiru by taking screen time away from the adults on the gameboard to focus on George, Jessica, Shannon and Kanon, who are infinitely less interesting.
The worst character of all in Umineko, by the way, is Ikuko/Featherine, since she ruins absolutely everything, including Higurashi.

Third, Battler is an unforgivable retard for trying to kill himself with his crazy inbred tranny cousin who wanted to kill his whole family because he had hurt his feelings when he was kid. By doing that, he leaves his 6-year-old sister alone with his bitch aunt. There's no way his remaining family couldn't have crossed his mind before he did what he did. He had to have known it would be a lot more painful for his sister if she didn't have at least one remaining member of her immediate family. Ange might have grown up to be a bit of an annoying bitch, but I feel bad for her way more than I do Yasu, with his retarded "love" craziness. Fuck anyone whose main reason for disliking Battler is anything other than him abandoning his sister for a tranny he barely knows. Family is more important than taking responsibility for hurting a mentally ill person's feelings.

true to a certain extent, one can't but feel sorry for Ange, she is one of the cast who suffers the most from what happens, but she's clearly the one who is the least responsible for it.
Eva gets it really hard, loosing George and Hideyoshi and having Ange hating her, but she had at least a part in making the situation as bad at it is. Ange's life was ruined without her doing anything.

>> No.12467214

>>12467136
I wonder how things would have ended up if Battler came back from Rokkenjima alongside Eva. Would Eva look after both of them or would she just leave Ange to Battler? I wouldn't blame her if she wouldn't want to be around Rudolf and Kyrie's children, but at the same time it would probably be more healthy for her than just wallowing in depression all alone. If she would look after them both, I like to think that Battler wouldn't let Ange say any bad shit to Eva, and Eva wouldn't look after them to begin with if she was just going to direct her hatred for their parents towards them. In a conversation alone with Rudolf, Kyrie says Battler is independent for his age. He can probably handle taking care of another person just fine, so it's not like she would be completely obligated to do it.

It's funny how a situation where almost an entire family was murdered can almost seem happy if you just add another survivor. Unlike a lot of people, I don't dislike the Ushiromiya family. Pretty much all of them have a lot of things that you could very reasonably hate about them, but I wouldn't wish death on any of them, other than maybe Kyrie, which is unfortunate since she was originally one of my favorite family members.

I think Ange and Battler would have to live with Eva, since Battler has no work, he wouldn't be able to raise Ange alone. But i think they would have gotten along better than just Ange and Eva.
Also, if Eva AND Battler would have been there, the two could have talked about what happened instead of just burying it into herself like Eva did. I think that this might have helped both of them to handle their feelings.

Why do people assume, that Yasu is a tranny?
It's almost clear, that he was a woman to begin with.

- Her physical body is similar to the body of woman, that suffered to lack of certain hormones etc. Man body would react different. He would be very tall and slim.
- Her primal personalities were female
- Her female side is stronger (Shannon always win vs Kanon)
- R07 hinted at this in interviews

Were is the basis for Yasu as a man? That telephone during EP5? Even Natsuhi said, that she can't know if the person on the other side was male or female.

Episodes 1-2 were written by Yasu.
Episodes 5-6 were written by Tohya and Ikuko.
Episodes 7 I like to believe isn't written or imagined by anyone. It's mostly meta world, with the events of 1986 shown in the Tea Party probably being the truth of what happened in Ange's world.
Episode 8 was Ange's imagination.
I don't remember if it was Yasu or Tohya/Ikuko who wrote Episodes 3-4.

I want to believe that the events that take place in the meta world aren't a part of the stories written by Yasu and Tohya and Ikuko. Furthermore, I want to believe that everything that happened in the meta world is real. There's no reason higher planes of existence can't exist. Though it's only confirmed to be a higher plane of existence than the games themselves, I want to believe it's a plane of existence above reality itself. Though Featherine and Bernkastel's relationship unfortunately suggests otherwise. The even more unfortunate thing that their relationship seems to suggest to me is that Higurashi is a fictional story written by Ikuko. Even though I basically KNOW that the meta world is a lower plane of existence, I'm still going to continue to delude myself into believing that everything in the meta world is real anyway. If you accept the meta world being a plane of existence below the reality of Ange's world, it pretty much ruins all of WtC. I refuse to accept it.

In any case, you should be getting angry at Ikuko, Tohya, and Yasu more than Ange. Especially Ikuko. Fuck R07 for including something like her.

Bernkastel was originally Featherine's pet cat, who got used as a piece for one of her games. In it, as a piece, she had to suffer over and over again until she reached a miracle. Featherine is just a persona of Ikuko's, just like how Virgilia is a persona of Kumasawa's, Ronove a persona of Genji's, and so on, so of course both Featherine and Ikuko have that same pet cat. Ikuko is a writer, who had already written mystery novels before she found Tohya. The meta world can't be a plane of existence above the reality in Umineko, since otherwise a person in Ange's reality wouldn't be able to create powerful beings in the meta world and decide what happens in it. And it would just be too weird if everything wasn't pointing to Ikuko, a mystery author who inserted her cat named Bern into one of her stories as a character that had to suffer time and time again until she reached a miracle, being the author of the "Higurashi" story we know. Battler mentioned Higurashi as a fictional story at some point too. If the characters and events of Higurashi are 100% fictional in this world, it's even less real than the mostly-fictional stories about the events of Rokkenjima. It would be on the lowest plane of existence. Even Kinzo in the forgeries would be a god compared to the whole cast of Higurashi. The only thing I have to latch onto in the hope that the characters of Higurashi actually exist in the reality of Umineko is Okonogi.

I hope I'm just being retarded. I want to be wrong. How the fuck did Ange meet meta world characters like Bernkastel, created by a person she hadn't yet met and had no information on, for example? Ikuko wrote all of that? Would that even make sense? I don't fucking know. Maybe Featherine is a real higher being and Ikuko is just how she interacts with the human world, meaning it's possible that everything and everyone in the meta world and Higurashi are at least as real as reality in Umineko, and the author shit is just meant to throw you off.

Pretty much all said by Lambda. Again, Rika's experiences are also Bernkastel's experiences. There's no reason the cat Bern couldn't have been Featherine's inspiration for both Rika and Bernkastel anyway. If you want to refuse to believe Higurashi being written by Featherine, how are you going to explain Bernkastel being both born from Rika and being an avatar of Ikuko's pet cat?

Are you autistic? There are obvious symbolic elements here you're taking way too literally. Anyway, the way I understand the whole "Ikuko authored Higurashi" was that the events unfolded as a tale conceptualized by a higher power, but that doesn't necessarily make them fictional or any less "real". By the way, your idea of the meta-world being a lower plane of existence makes no sense. Throughout the entire story, it is the characters within the meta-world that influence the physical world, not the other way around.

Reality

Meta world

Forgeries

They could obviously do whatever they wanted with the forgeries and in the meta world, but I don't see how the characters in the meta world had more influence on the real world than Ange did on the meta world. Though I don't want to believe it, it seems like the meta world is just imagined by people, just like the forgeries. I haven't actually read Umineko for a couple years though so I may be forgetting something, I'm just getting worked up thinking about these things again lately. And whatever symbolism there is I'm certainly not picking up on, so maybe I am a fucking autist. It's kind of hard to know what's symbolism in something like this.

I still wish there was an answer to all the little things.

Like why did Yasu write two (or more) mystery novels? They can't be used to plan a murder, nor to set up a fake mystery because it is missing the details of how it all should be done. Unless the facts we were shown were selective parts of the story where all the "play" or "murder" instructions where omitted. But then why would anyone outside the island treat the bottled stories any special? In other words, the single reason for Yasu to write these, is for Battler to read and remember his old promise.

If we go with the only logical choice for the written stories, then why did Yasu send out money to the relatives? She was not funding a fake mystery, and she was not plotting murder. Unless that was in addition to the written stories. But you hand over a story about Beatrice and sneak away and murder someone claiming it was Beatrice, because it will be obvious who did it.

Third oddity is the lack of Ange in the stories. So it seems like Yasu bribed Kyrie in advance to keep Ange home, so that she didn't have to write her into the story to remind Battler of the past. Makes no sense at all. But if we assume Yasu bribes Kyrie to kill people, would they agree to keep Ange home so Yasu knew how to write the story? That is also kind of ridiculous "Please come and murder all the family members. Ok, is it OK if I leave my daughter home and just murder everyone else?".

So with these two answers, we know Yasu wanted Battler to remember his promise, and kill his entire family. With this scenario it doesn't seem like Yasu cares at all anylonger and just want to mess with Battler. Yet the ending is that Battler forgave Yasu for all of it.

She could have written 63 trillion stories, three stories for every possible combination of family members. Or only 1.5 billion if she could ensure that the servants and Kinzo could be in the stories. It's also reasonable to say that Krauss'a family would come, and given their desperation, Eva and Hideyoshi. George wouldn't miss his own proposal. That would only need 2160 stories. Since Maria could be counted on to ensure that Rosa would come, only 72 stories. Additionally, the game will not occur if Battler doesn't show, so 18 stories to cover the remaining possibilities of Rudolf's family.

Ensuring that the servants and Kinzo could be in her stories, that's only 4109589.0411 years. Assuming the Japanese daily dietary energy consumption per capita of 2810 kilocalories (2007 census) for the next 4*10^6 years, that's as much as 3242307.69231 metric tons of rice, which is equal to 2.49408284024 times the yearly exportation of rice by China.

Another thing to think about with the stories, is that as far as we know, they do not include the meta world. But how would these be possible to solve without the meta world? You'd have no red truth, and no Battler assistance. The only thing you have is a lying story teller and a detective. Said detective also do not act like a detective but is just another victim in the story that can say what they see and it is truth.

On the other hand, we can choose to consider the meta world as a reflection of just Shannon sitting next to Battler giving hints, or calling him stupid, while trying to solve the mystery story. That way it becomes less unfair as a mystery for Battler, even if it makes no difference for the outsiders who read it.

But if we look back to the Ange missing from story part again, wouldn't this be really weird? Battler getting to read a story that conveniently is missing Ange the same time as Ange is missing from the island.

Perhaps it is all just a new layer of lies? Maybe Ange actually was in the stories, but omitted to make it all sound better. After all, isn't our view the meta view made by witches? We never get to be in the world of umineko and read the stories. We just get a retelling of the stories as a witch vs Battler duel. Real world Ange never reads us a story the way they were actually written.

R07 talked about this.
You only need Battler perspective to solve the stories.
If someone is talking about impossible things or experiencing magic, the first thing you should do is already suspecting him as a culprit or accomplice.

First story was really not that hard if you think about this. Let's start with the first twillight. By smug talking they didn't let cousins see Shanon corpse, that was not there to begin with. That was a strong hint, but buried under false hints. Like people having whole faced ripped out, so maybe someone was playing dead by tossing false corpse there etc. And they said, that only half of Shannon face was ripped, so you believed that this corpse is confirmed, even when no one saw her. That was sneaky.

There are more examples of this in first 4 stories.

The strangest thing about 5 is that Krauss was killed right after Natsuhi heard him on the phone.

Otherwise nobody was dead and it was all staged to get Natsuhi to confess that Kinzo was dead and about the child 19 years ago. Likely someone (Eva, maybe) went too far with Krauss and ended up killing him.

Since they all discovered the gold together and Yasu wasn't shown telling them about the bomb, they could have died in the explosion, but there also could have been wholesale slaughter that we don't see after Erika's trap, because Krauss is dead and that can't be swept under the carpet.

It's pretty vague.

Ok, lets get this shit done.

A little confirmation to begin with. R07 said in interview, that he will probably show more anwers in the manga, because this long after completion of VN there is no purpose to hiding this. Also he was tired from all the people pissed off.

And it's exactly what happened. We can even see who killed who in twillights, and Confession of the Golden Witch, as part of EP7 manga showed, that Kanon=Shanon and he/she is the Beatrice.

So Rosatrice believers were BTFO. But of course they still stick to this silly theory and won't admit, even when everything here is canon already. Please ignore them.

So, at the start, some picks from CotGW.

Here we have Shannon confused about her own body, when all the others female servants start to getting breast and all, and she is complete flat. She is reading about anatomy etc.

I don't have pic for George death in this episode, so as a bonus I add George and Gohda death from EP2.

Interesting thing here is, that Shannon explained herself to George, who rejected her, causing her to kill him and Gouda.

Time for the 4th game.

Interesting note:
Excluding battler, literally everyone was in on the scheme. The first twilight's text reads: The spirit world is a lie created in conspiracy.

Everyone was in a plan to trick one person but then real murders happen. In this case the target was Battler.

1st twilight

Sayo dressed up as Shannon kill Natsuhi and Rudolf & Genji kill Hideyoshi, Eva and Rosa. They were shoot to their heads in the dinning room.

This bunny weapon was of course a shotgun, as we can see here.

Well, considering real events, nothing that exciting happened in 4th game. Sayo later killed everyone. No closed rooms etc. they were lying here and there.
Shannon committed suicide and hide her gun with a trick similar to this from 2nd game. Of course Kanon body was not found.

Ah, right, there was this closed room with Gohda and Kumasawa.
I was really confused by this one, when I read the visual novel.

Well. They were into this but they were thinking, that this is fake murder game. So they were faking being hung by their necks, but then Sayo or Genji came and killed them with a weapon.
He shoot them from this windows so they ended up hanging for real.

I have some doubts Yasu would kill George and Jessica.Hey, they were some of the very few people that treated her with respect and were even friends of some kind.
And if she really aimed for wiping the complete family out, why not waiting another year to kill Ange, too?
And don't say "because she thought Ange was innocent and didn't deserve death" - she killed Maria, too, who clearly didnt do anything to her.

I had to re-open the manga to double check, since my poor memory said Jessica had died much earlier. But I got reminded that it was actually not stated that she was killed at all. (Apart from credits). However, it is just ridiculous that Eva, having killed multiple people, wouldn't just plain shoot Jessica instead of messing with her.

>>12517333
I think R07 was attempting to go for something like "I'll kill my best friends too, and we'll all live happy in heaven".

Also remember, this is just the mystery novels 3 and 4, and does in no way portray what actually happened. Just what could have happened.

Some questions:
Does Yasu have blonde or brown hair? Lion has blonde hair and he's shown as having light colored hair in Episode 7's manga.

Does Yasu go to Golden Land? Who know. EP8 in manga version is written so much better. Everyone admit, that they had a touch in this tragic event.

It's a reconciliation.
Everything is written better. During EP8 in vn I had the impression, that Battler went all "truth don't matter, don't believe in it". Here it is more like "yeah, everyone made a poor decisions in life and it all turned out into this tragic event. But please remember, that all these people have something good in them".

I think the vn's version fits better with the spirit of the whole story. Rather than blatantly showing the naked truth in all its glory, the vn tries to put the reader into the mindset of Yasu, who really believed her own twisted versions of the truth so strongly that she took her own life to protect that belief.

Sure, it's nice to get to see what really happened after all this time, but from my experience the vn version is absolutely the definitive way to experience the story for the first time. I think you'd lose some of the magic if you read the manga first.

I think this whole problem is very complex.

Let's start with Yasu first introduced. I have not read manga beyond these information, that anon posted in this thread, so I have informations mostly from visual novel.

She started working in Ushiromiya house and got blessed name Shannon. But, co-workers were making fun of her and calling her by "Yasu" nickname that she hated. She thought, that she don't deserve this name, so she created "perfect Shannon" friend, that everyone likes.

Later Yasu learned about magic tricks and after her first prank she decided, that she want to become a witch. That was still before Battler promise, right? So we can say, that Yasu wanted to become a witch on her own.

And here is a tought part for me. Shannon become that clumsy servan, that Yasu always was and she has a breakdown about her own gender, so she created a Kanon persona in order to taste the life as a boy.

But what about "Claire", the Beatrice prototype? She was there to cheer her up and everything but I am rather confused about this part.

But in the end she is the one, that loves Battler and was the reflection of a ideal woman. But Battler never said, that she likes witches, so that was a Yasu whim.

With all of this can we say, that Beatrice is ideal same for Yasu and for Battler? For Yasu, because she want to be experiences, thousand year old witch that is making pranks, and for Battler as well.

And where you find these manga scans in a good quality, translated as well? Are all these chapters translated? Have you links?

Cheer up anon.

Yasu would have A LOT to explain to him, George and Jessica, but it probably would have been a better outcome than how it went.
If the cousins would understand Yasu's situation (though George and Jessica wouldn't be all too happy), they might have accomplished at least a halfway decent end.

Great.

>Once their escape was officially successful, as a prank, Yasu hit Battler with a car and thought she accidentally killed him, so she ran away and lived the rest of her life in misery.

Nein.

Look at Ikkuko. Look at what we know about her.

First, she's rich. She has no problem whatsoever with living in a huge mansion out of nowhere and doing nothing with her life.

Secondly, she's young. The VN goes in its right mind to remind us that, even when Battler was beginning to show his age, she was still young looking. It means she probably has the same age as Battler, more or less two, three years.

Thirdly, she's hiding and stay away from society.

Fourthly, how could Battler be so right in the Episode 3, 4, 5, and 6 he wrote when he didn't remember all the truth? Answer: Ikkuko provided him with the elements he lacked in his story.

Ikkuko is Yasu. Something happened, Battler lost his memory, and she stayed with him all these years until he remembered. The rest is smoe and mirrors.

>> No.12528989

...And when the fuck did Yasu learn to drive allt his time if they both fell off the boat at the same time or wahtever. Where are you getting this?

And Ikuko* is Ryukishi's horrible insert character. NOT Yasu. Where do you get this. Sure, she's hiding. But it also magically said in the Ep 8 ???? epilogue that Ange had met her and then "magically several decades later" she looked oh so much younger than her, even though Ange was older. Ah man. No, she's just a shit character.

and no. Not yasu. And don't bring in that "Because I have an incurable illness" line. That does not mean the dicklessness.

Bern and Lambda both illuded to that. They said it was their boredom. And yeah I know they're in the metaworld / whatever.

man though. the story might as wellc ome out and say yasu is everyone. Honestly I might be able to actually laugh and enjoy that.

But the way Umineko ended up. It's BS. Yasu is the cancer that killed it. And they dont' deserve to be happy. Why?

Because they are the dumbshit that basically made all the problems for themselves. I have no pity for them. They like met Battler one summer or a couple years. They got to know george and jess so much more. Espcially Jessica. And they set up themselves on a date with them. Yeah, Shannon insisted / suggested it.

They never had accept George's proposal, either, if they really liked Buttler so much.
They never had to lead Jessica on like that.

They caused the huge mess. They even fucked with the family. And if that CotGW is anything to go by, they even acknowledged their incestous relationship.

This thing gets no pity from me, nothing but hatred. What a terribly written piece of shit. I really just hope Ryukishi stops writing about Umineko. The more he writes, the more shit it gets, honestly.

Please don't put a coherent, well thought theory answering some interesting questions with the "Rosatrice" conspiracy theory garbage.

Umineko is/was about making theories. The fact that an autistic retard went overboard should not make you forget that simple fact.

Ikuko is a pretty shady character, with a pretty shady backstory. The Yasuko theory answer a large part of the perceived problems with her.

I'm not fluent, but it looks like it's a a little crossover movie that's going to be screened at the upcoming "07th Party" event (October 5th), which is a doujinshi event for 07th Expansion related works, as well as some other fun events.

They had a Part 1 that was screened at the last two 07th Parties, and this year they're going to screen that and a Part 2 they've created.

I think they're all black/brown haired, except for Beatrice and maybe Lion. Battler/Ange's "red" is probably just a more reddish brown thanks to maybe Kyrie having a lighter tone. Jessica's either dyed or brown. The meta characters can have their hair any color so that's a non-issue.

Maria does suck. Her fans are only a bunch of sick, degenerate pedophiles who only like her because they want to fuck her. That might sound like she's important, but she's the only loli in the story, so the bar for that is so low that she's basically a pity fuck, a tease by 07th Expansion as fan service to the worst parts of their demographic. Maria fans are also a bunch of dipshit dumbass fuckfaces as well, who still believe in magic like some sort of retarded child would.

Contrast this with the <hip>, <pop>, and <cute> Lambdadelta, who not only has the looks, but the brains as well. Her fans are well cultured and elegant, just like her, and were able to solve Umineko's heart with easy because they could relate to the struggle on a very personal level.

I don't really use AS, I just check to see if anything interesting is there every once in a while. But I don't think so. The most active users there were from /seacats/ which is a split from /a/.

The only other relevant fanbase is Tumblr, and they are very different. They rally around Yasu 's gender confusion shit and think the massacre all happened because Battler didn't check his privilege. They've done nothing important except a few neat pictures.
