Miko is older than Byakuren.

Miko comes from a time when youkai were still strong and super dangerous to humans, which explains her and Futo's mindset in cheating natural laws to make their human selves stronger.

Byakuren comes later when youkai were getting weak to the point where humans can abuse them, this explains the youkai sympathizing view of the monk (still, the original reason she protected youkai is to preserve her youth so she was using them).

For a more concrete proof, Bishamonten in Byakuren era has already become a lucky god, rather than the war god of Miko time, which is why Shou Toramaru's power is treasure/luck god and even uses the spear as a walking stick than a weapon.
