Sakuya Izayoi-
English, born in Liverpool with blonde hair, blue eyes and a marked inability to express empathy. Joined the SS under a false identity in 1941 as a double agent. Became stateless after World War 2 due to inability to prove British citizenship and was branded a war criminal. Disappeared somewhere in the Ukrainian SSR in 1952. Sightings reported in Afghanistan, Central Asia, Mongolia, China and Japan, before disappearing totally in 1991, shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union. The next time she was sighted, she had white hair, gray eyes and a non-European name. Feigns ignorance of many events of the 20th Century.

Claims to have been born on the Baltic coast of Poland. Actual nationality unknown.

Wrong, Seiga and Yoshika are very likly Chinese and it is stated Seiga 'crossed the sea' to meet with Miko. Remilia/Flandre are European, but we don't know exactly where, or if the rest of the SDM are. We don't know where Mamizou is from, but it's some Tanuki Island, not Japan.

Toyosatomimi is Japanese for sure. Since Gensokyo is in Japan technically, Reimu/Marisa, born in Gensokyo, are Japanese. Maribel and Renko are Japanese, as is Sanae. Suwako and Kanako, being Shinto Gods, are Japanese. [Same with the Aki Sisters, and Hina, due to the tradition of Hina Dolls] Sukana, being a descendant of Issun, is Japanese.

And this is only the characters that are certainly Japanese. Most of the characters can be called Japanese. Like all of the item-based characters, be they Poltergeists or tsukumogami, as the items are probobly from Japan.

You should really assume all of them are Japanese unless its strongly hinted they're not, since Gensokyo is a region of Japan. Its like saying "what nationality were the Tuatha Dé Danann?"
