Yes, but it's hard to tell how much can go on an item before you can stop adding stuff. It doesn't mess up the item if you try, it just won't let you add more on. At least one of the unique items I was testing didn't allow anything more added on, so the limit could be kind of low.

From what I remember, Elona was running into legal problems before because some of the resources were copyrighted. I think it was the ones from RPGmaker, which is why you can find some of the character designs from Elona redone in the new RPGmaker games.

So, the first 5 spiders seem to work, although I stopped after 3 out of boredom. It goes evo heart, then magic heart. Neither form seems to gain any special actions. Color is the same regardless of type, and before you ask, I don't know why it looks like a scorpion girl instead of a spider.

2nd evolution is a unique sprite tinted red. Doesn't seem to be among the new monsters, anyway. The t-rex can go magic heart or machine heart. Same deal there, although it gets normal dark res for the magic heart and fire res for the machine heart. Machine heart uses the new mechanical dinosaur sprite. Both of them seem kind of disappointing since the only reason to waste hearts on those types would be to power up a Panic quest recruit, which you can't do as of this patch.

There's also a new unique armor, which I am betting is on Marka the silver bear once you find her later on in the Cradle, wherever that is.

Disclaimer quickfixL If you want to get rid of the disclaimer, try opening config.txt and set the value of title_dialog to 0. That seemed to do the trick for me.

I keep trying to update my game from 1.35R2 to 1.37, but when I log on it tells me to return to the previous version and save in a town and enter the world map once, even though I've already done this.

What's worse, it's not letting me delete the save file within the Save folder that I'm trying to replace with the one that should work because I need administrator permissions when I'm already the damn administrator.

The new version is pretty mean about not letting you see a damn Shine Ogre. I've lost count of how many bloody Stag Gods and Kirins i've seen up until I actually and finally got to see just ONE Shine Ogre. 40 maybe?

Wasn't worth all the effort though unfortunately. It can debuff with Slow,Buff with Hero and heal itself. Plus it seems to double cast. Wish it had shadow step but it's kind of an interesting pet at least.

Pierce% just negates the XdY from PV, not the % reduction from PV. It's only meaningful if you're doing way less damage than you should be. Only absolute pierce goes through the %, and it's fucking terrifying.

No, the best AP farming method I know of is to fetter and meteor entire floors at once. Low level mounts can't survive that, contingency only gets you so many shots.

If you're able to get a Sonic Tonfa, you'll probably have a ton of potions of cure corruptions by that point.

1.37 now takes the higher of your speed and your mounted speed for AP calculations. So mounts no longer help.

Meteor is fire damage. If you stack a shitton of fire res / magic res you should survive a casting. That AP feat that allows you to use MP as HP also helps, since a massive attack will make you go to negative MP rather than reduce HP.

It might be possible to make something excellent with fusion, but there's still some sort of limit to how much you can put on an item. You can also put cores and the craftable resistance/other effect items on uniques. The huge roadblock on the way to powerful items is the fact that Gain Attribute scrolls are fairly rare. There really isn't any need to make a new character since most characters by mid-game end up having the same stats as most. Your fighting styles and spells are really what differentiates you from the others, and it's never too late to train any of them.

I just cleared a level 257 dungeon, and now hunting quests are offering 4k and one platinum instead of the 15k and 3 platinum they used to. Same difficulty level on the quests. What the fuck happened?

Looks like that quest can be reached in 1.36R2, which is nice since I don't want to update until I can upgrade my mount to get something near 1k speed. The astral pen reward is pretty nice. Looks like Marka can show up in Noyel in 1.36 as well, but can't take you to the Castle of Ice map since it isn't in that version.

There are a bunch of categories that you can browse by clicking the tabs at the top that are to the right of the "About" one. There are packs too, but I don't think he updates them that often.

Rename the first one to face2.bmp, then copy it into your elona/user/graphic folder. There's an example face1.bmp in there already, but if you extract new versions of your game over the old one it'll write over your custom one with the default, so it's easier to start at 2. You can normally go up to 9 or 0 with the custom portraits, although you could actually use more if you use something like elosnack to change the ingame portrait number to a normally unselectable one.

Just in case you don't know the next part, once you're ingame, just hit 'p' on your character sheet, then press left on the portrait selection to go below 0. That's where the custom portraits appear.

The whole sheets from the Scrap page won't work since only one of them is the right portrait size for Plus, and the older portraits he did don't match up all the time with the new positions in Plus. I replace almost everything else from graphics to music, but never got around to doing the portraits. I seem to remember people starting some portrait sheets, but didn't see a completed one. I might end up doing one myself if I ever feel up to it, but the resizing of the nice 80x112 portraits to the tiny 48x72 ones kind of sucks.

I'm not sure about evolution potions since they can be easily taken away by a bad dream or stray mutation from drinking from the well. Well, panties are pretty decent weapons,and hard to find early on, so it's not too big a worry. They've got great damage, with 1d90+ being possible with the right materials, and the mind damage on top of that. You can use it in your melee slot for blunt damage (I don't know if there are any downsides to this) if you want.

That said, Seven league boots would have probably still been a better choice. I'm not sure why people recommend Vindale cloaks or Happy beds, since etherwind isn't much of a threat, and Happy beds don't seem too rare - I have 3 from killing cupids, or useful, given how much they weigh.

The comment on hooves is valid as well, since losing an equipment slot is not a bad tradeoff sometimes early on. Other types of ether disease can be helpful as well, such as the violence one that boosts your damage greatly in exchange for a loss of evasion. There are several really negative ones, but the disease only kills you when you get around 20 or so at once. The potions remove 2 kinds of disease, 3 if blessed, so it's not too tough to manage even if you're not save-scumming.

The longer you hold them, the more valuable they are due to platinum costs to train skills outpacing platinum gains. BUT, investing early can speed up your growth. There's no simple correct answer, and it's not a huge deal anyways as you can always get more.

Personally, I use them to keep important skills above potential cutoffs where growth slows WAY down below a certain value. Platinum training would force me to return to town, but points mean I can just pop and continue.

That may be the case because she's also teleporting all the time. I tried giving her scroll of uncurse, but it kept saying that it didn't work on all of her equipment. Do I need a blessed scroll of uncurse to remove the effects? I don't think I've seen one in a shop before.

If you have the stat restore lady uncurse your equipment she'll also uncurse your pet if she's nearby.

If it keeps happening it might be an attribute on an uncursed piece of equipment you gave her.

Pretty much just an extreme nuisance.

Like it will randomly take a bite out of your HP every so often depending on how strong the enchantment is. Not a big chunk, like around to a tenth to a fifth of your health. Very unlikely to make or break the difference in most fights.

The reason why it's extremely annoying is that it immediately interrupts anything you're doing that takes multiple turns.

Resting, performing, fishing, digging, harvesting. Basically making it a pain to do anything.

It depends on the severity. Personally, I have a rank 14 living weapon that I keep equipped at all times unless taking multi-turn actions, and all the bleeding has done is triple my healing skill through continuous effort. Went from 70 to 240 in a day.

Sometimes a curse can be pretty persistent. Blessed scrolls will do the trick. Find a bottle of water and drop it over an altar(your god must match the altar). Mix blessed water with scroll. If you can't find any water and you're really desperate, then you can get water from Miral and Garoks Workshop for three medals.

Every major city has a healer who also uncurses stuff for 2500 GP. Not sure if that works on your allies though.

If you don't know where you can get a deed, you won't get profit out of your museum and you will end up paying for it monthly. It's incredible hard to raise the museum rank. A ton of normal mooks, goons and monsters won't do much.

You get a LOT more cash from selling equipment from a shop. Up to over an order of magnitude more. You also can get random loot. And a cluster of people to perform for / steal from.

I haven't been killing many unique NPCs though, outside of the storyline bosses, some from party time, rogue bosses and so on, it's mainly just normal mobs. If I went out of my way to collect unique figures, it'd be higher.

In a deed-related note, Plus seems to have made it so that higher rank home deeds don't show up until the shops they are sold in are fairly high rank themselves. Had a little frustration with this when trying to use a debug character that I hadn't bothered with a real home with when experimenting with the god invite-to-home stuff in 1.37.

It's probably worth mentioning that if you have a fairly large stack of scrolls, blessing them can be worth a bottle of water, but individual scrolls are probably not worth it. Most equipped curses can be taken off even with normal uncurse scrolls, although you sometimes have to read them several times before it works. Any blessed scrolls should be saved for stuff you can't equip, since it works on your entire inventory rather than just on stuff you have on.

In normal Elona. it used to be able to change containers, full or empty, into new full containers. This could be used to get rid of stuff like the 300 s chest in your home. In Plus it won't work on those anymore, so there's no other conceivable use other than draining it's charges to recharge other rods.

Because it's been ingrained in you from pre Elona Plus when scrolls of growth were more mediocre and Hermes Blood was the only reliable way of increasing speed.

Now that potions of speed upper exist and it's possible to increase speed through AP, justifying buying Hermes Blood is much harder.

I don't normally use riding because the only pets I take on dungeon runs/questing are my evolved android or my element dragon. I don't want to bog them down with half-speed/inaccurate spells, so I usually just increase speed on my own terms by grinding traveling, swimming or eating shoes. Find enchanted/miracle-type equipment that has luck on a line, turn it raw and eat it. Bonus points (literally) for eating something that "maintains luck" and boosts your luck potential gain temporarily, beforehand.
