Mayan afterlife is by far the best. The gods of the death were too cruel and enjoyed putting the dead through elaborate, Saw-esque torture plans, but eventually Mayans had enough of their shit and a couple of Mayan heroes killed the gods and destroyed their underworld. Now Mayan souls don't go anywhere when they die.

If you have a good portfolio and connections you may just have to be an enemy in some dungeon for heroes to clear. That sucks too but it beats skeleton war.

People in afterlife don't have humor, just like the germans. They may assume that RIP would mean rip as in "rip and tear" in which case you would be drafted. But it depends on the interpretation and generosity of the responsible skeleton administrator of you local cemetery. You probably just have to do extra paperwork.
