.gif has so much integrated support in everything at this point its not going to die any time soon.

Untill I can drag and drop individual frames into images editors with webm and not have to do any special fucking encoding, its not going to replace most simpler images.

If you're not a content creator making your own animated images, which hardly anyone seems to be, GIF is so much more of a pain in the ass. Your point is that everyone is a retard for not knowing how to work webm. My point is that gif is a lot simpler, intuitive to use and you're coming up with late night infomercial-tier ``problems'' as to why gif creation is so much more complicated than webm creation.

GIF is currently more simple and intuitive because you're used to it and it's universal. It won't die out any time soon, but eventually we will look back at it like floppy disks. That's it, I'm not saying we should get rid of gif and learn to use webm, gif has a comfortable place on the internet.

Gifcam can just as easily encode the frames it lets you edit into a webm video. Behind the scenes, it doesn't use the GIF format until saving the image (not to teach you what you already know) but considering the amount of software out there, programs surely exist with gifcam-like functionality. If such software doesn't exist, it will..
