Zun does nothing but make crappy graphic games with no story content. Of course there aren't any official ones.Zun just lets other artists and game designers create meaningful things for Touhou while he takes a slice of their profit from the copyrights he holds over them. He's lazy and makes money by being lazy.

I wish someone would just say it to his face by now and demand better work form him. He's not a good game designer unless he strives for his best work possible, which we all know by now he doesn't.

As for non lewd fan mangas, if you go to e-hentai or exhentai and search for touhou with everything but the non-h tag on you will actually find more pages than when looking for porn

I'm dead serious. Hire a damn team. Get some friggin program software. We're living in 2014 and ZUN hasn't even produced soemthing of ps1 graphic. There's no excuse for his lack of creativity when it come to a story, bonus material, sub arches, character development, new lasting meaningful characters besides the main players, etc.

That whole "profit" thing gave it away, though.
ZUN doesn't cares about copyrights and he gets nothing from the money other people make with touhou. If he would truly care about money he would have capitalized on his huge fanbase a long time ago, but he doesn't.

All he does is make 1 game every year for fun to then sell it at an event to get back the production costs.

If thats the case than he has no sense of money which makes him a failure of a man in the modern Japanese sense. Heck, I;m not calling him that, but if he doesn't make money off of it I still think that is unwise of him, thus still lazy to go through with the due proses. Either way he is lazy.

If that's your opinion then I guess you could say that he is a failure in the eyes of modern japanese society.

But quite frankly, why would he care about what society thinks of him as long as the things he does make him happy?

Maybe money just isn't his no1 priority.
There are more things in life than just that, and to ZUN that thing is obviously his creation, Touhou.

I have never met him in person or talked to him, but if he truly wanted to capatalize on touhou he would have sold out long ago and sold the rights to make some official anime, and he is clearly against that.

I feel that this sort of argument is used because whatever shit you throw at ZUN, the excuse will always be "he doesn't make them for money and only to entertain himself, so whatever" which make the argument about his laziness and that he's bad developer sort of invalid because he's basically on the same level as doujin artist or people who spend their time making flash games for flash game sites that people shouldn't make a fuss about, but they can't get over the fact that despite that, Touhou is incredibly popular (to the point the Jap fans has created some good quality content out of it) and they have to resort to call his ignorance of the large profit potential "stupid" just to antagonize him and justifying their hate.
