A few threads back, I mentioned I was working on some test scripts for a Touhou story about a one of those faeries you beat up in droves between named characters, and her quest for employment.

The El' Tye ir stand at around 8 foot and can weigh up to 240kgs. Despite their row of sharp teeth and exoticness they are sentient and have established peaceful trade terms with humanity. With trinocular vision in each eye they are able to see a color spectrum far more vast than people and have a greater perception of range allowing them to be skilled pilots and marksmen. Their ancestors once had shaggy coats which have now since been reduce to a small fluff over their body, it has been described as feeling like sheep wool. The small patterns on their fur and eyes can vary color helping to identify specific individuals. The El' Tye ir have several forms of government reflecting our own however they have since slowly been more unified as their exploration in space expanded. There are political enemies of their government who wish to underhand the trade agreements in pursuit of power which is why their merchants can commonly be seen with larger than usual defenses.

Due to their unconventional body type the El' Tye ir have specialized cockpits which are extremely difficult for other species to use. They have since taught humans many advances in science and say that we remind them of a younger version of their own species. They were the first species to contact humans in the Andromeda system by first communicating with mathematics. The El Tye ir had since worked together with humans to create translators however in should a translator not be ready the two can use a sign language both species forged.

Sorry it's kind of long. I like thinking of Aliens and the societies themselves would have.

I made a nukige.

Summary: A group of teenagers are on a camping trip when their van breaks down in the woods, so they enter a mysterious house looking for help. The protagonist gets turned into a girl and lots of sex ensues.

It's around 80,000 words (as long as a book) but individual playthroughs should be somewhat short. There are 13 endings and I think around 35 ero scenes. No art or sound.

In addition to the obvious gender bender themes there's also netorare. So not sure if anyone will be interested, I made it mostly for myself, but decided to post it here anyways.

Ahaha, the narrow hip is a thing that I pushed for specific character tho, not all of them, I guess I just didn't differentiate them enough. The musculature and jawline is just something I like.

There's a few things you need to know about making drawings in order of importance.

1) The ability to reproduce what you see (in real life and in the mind) accurately
2) The ability to construct a mental image which is where your hand gets its instruction
3) Art related techniques you picked up over the years

When you don't practice, the main area that suffers is 2, followed by 1 and finally 3. 3 are like plugins and is similar to riding a bike, you won't forget how (unless you fell into a coma for a few years). 2 comes from practicing drawing things from real life or reference. 1 is from simply having the right mindset and not being stuck fast on some shitty amateur mistake (such as the infamous "my style" excuse), and is practiced the more often you do any art.

So if you find yourself getting worse after a long period of non-practice, you can now identify what exactly got worse and you can work towards regaining what you lost, which should be relatively quick. Then back to increasing your skill level.

This is also just my opinion and pretty much how my brain works. YMMV.

Read for 1, reference draw from 2, study for 3. Your problem is you can't keep an image in your head long enough to draw it. Your brain processes a lot of things when you want to make a drawing. Picture this mentally:

1) A circle. Pretty easy right? You can have that image in your head and draw it and your brain hasn't processed much.
2) A circle with color. Not a specific color, just "color". Still easy, but now you're probably starting to process several colors and deciding which one you like.
3) A circle in 3 dimensions - a sphere. Here's where your brain starts thinking a little. If you're smart you'll realize it's hard to create a sphere looking circle unless you "place" it in the world and give it a light source. Where is the sphere placed in terms of camera angles? Where is the light source? Are there multiple light sources? So now without being asked to, you're processing additional tasks just to create a sphere mentally.
4) So now you're doing your best to just imagine a sphere. The image is probably hazy and not clear like the first one, which was just a simple circle. Now try drawing the sphere that you are imagining. Unless you are experienced, you'll probably come up with something not very sophisticated. Probably a shine, a light side, a dark side, and a shadow.

Then you take a look at an actual sphere as it appears in the real world and compare it to the one in your imagination.

tl;dr: drawing things more makes imaging easier

How come you put color as an intermediary step before 3D form? That's tone, not color, and that's what you need to perform descriptive/classical drawing, which means to manipulate 2D tonal values to render the illusion of 3D shapes. I can picture a colored in circle much easier than a detailed sphere. You agree that it's more simple, don't you?

The point was the time taken to go from imagining to seeing it done on paper. A black and white circle will take milliseconds, a sphere should take longer. When trying to "image" more complex things such as a girl looking away, a beginner artist will struggle with heavy image processing load and will be stuck on details such as anatomy or shading to things such as clothing and hairstyle. It reflects his problem of "I can't simply draw "whatever" because I don't know what anything is supposed to look like.". My guess is he actually does know what hair, trees, grass and eyeballs look like, he just can't grab a decent mental image to draw. It's also why drawing things from life/reference is good practice, it cuts a lot of the exhausting mentalwork that would eventually become second nature.

I read through to a few endings. It reads like a typical, mediocre literotica short story, replete with jarring typos and poorly worded sentences (except with a choose-your-own-sexual-partner element). How do I get myself to stop being so inhibited when trying to sketch? Or wasting a lot of time nitpicking, and obsessing over small details in the sketch. I'm very inefficient with my time when trying to get past the rough draft phase of the drawing, but when coloring I am much more efficient with my time. I spent about 6 hours with SAI open today and only got 45 minutes of work done, and all I could do was change the shape of the face outline on one of my drawings.

If you're only starting, tell yourself you won't draw your first good drawing until you've made at least 10k sketches and expect that until then everything will be bad. Then you have to learn to enjoy the process of learning to draw, not only drawing to have a pretty picture in the end, but that's only if you are trying to improve quickly. If nitpicking and being super detail oriented is fun then there's nothing wrong with that.

If you're already fairly intermediate or advanced my old art instructor used to tell me sometimes you just have to know when you're done with a drawing and move on. Deadlines sort of help with this but when you are just drawing for fun it comes down to discipline, I guess.

This is the scariest thing I have ever seen in my dreams. I only seen it for a couple of seconds as it squeezed through every opening into my basement and covered every inch of the walls, but I remember it well. They are extremely agile and can travel over any surface with ease. They invade in the billions and it's impossible for land animals to escape them.

They release toxins into the air paralyze that any form of life completely. The victim skin then begins to deteriorate and boils form and bust and fester. They move quickly, but eat slowly. The toxins released serve to destroy organic matter and make it easier to consume, so all that is left of devoured animals are puddles of slightly distinguishable goo.

Their only weakness are hospitals. for some reason they tend to avoid them. As I was shot twice in an earlier part of the dream, I was stationed there while only hearing about the first invasion. Soon after rushing home to check if my family was ok, they began a second one and I refused to be a part of it (woke up).

I think the problem stems from attempting to add a third dimension to something that would otherwise be two dimensional. I would argue that even artists like alphonse struggle with trying to implement the anime facial structure to painting. It seems that the best way would be to incorporate the shadows the face casts on itself primarily the nose and eye brow ridge. It also seems in general for this type of drawing artists will only highlight one cheek to further emphasize light direction. A good example of someone who does that is 'as109'. You never give your characters chins which I think in turn causes you to lob off the top part of the head making them seem more circular than they should be.

A lot of your faces will tend to look flat (excluding the more realistic ones), and/or the expressions will look strange. I notice once in a while the poses for the bodies will have a similar issue, but it's not as often. Practice expressions/do some portraits and you should be able to work it out.

i didn't photocopy, i referenced

he draws eyes a certain way so i drew it his certain way. copying would be to trace over one of the eyes he drew or to copy it directly line for line (which if i did i'd probably get all the angles wrong and the face composition would fall apart). people often get the wrong idea when they're asked to draw from life because all they want to do is work on "their style" and not learn how to draw "realism". if you aren't a huge faggot you'd actually figure out that drawing from life or reference is actually a skill you can learn and doing it more makes drawing from both real life/reference AND imagination better and easier.

ham's art style is easy to reference compared to something a lot more realistic or complex (such as _bitch's painting and drawing style) so it's easy to mimic, in a way. it's not a perfect style-by-style copy though since his method of drawing is different from mine and our drawing histories are different. i still do have my own style of drawing things and that influences how all my drawings look, even ones that are meant to look like ham's.
