Ontological paradox, a logic error of the worst kind. For Maria to be a ghost to tell future Ange, she'd have to be killed on the island, but to be killed, she has to get Ange to kill the family. Viewed from a reference frame outside the universe (call it the Metaverse), how did the first Maria get killed if Ange must wait 12 years to get word from Ghost Maria? Where did the information that the Ushiromiya's must die come from?

This places Ange in a logic error.

My conclusion after reading all of the VNs was that while Yasu had a plan and wrote about it, what actually happened was more similar to Episode 7.

The key points of what I think.

1) Battler returns to Rokkenjima precisely because he remembers Yasu, contrary to all of her stories.

2) The family discovers the gold. All of them foolishly fight over it, and the conference becomes a blood bath.

3) Kyrie and Rudolf are the initial victors, they are killed by Eva. Battler and Yasu escape as the situation has escalated.

3b) Yasu may have chosen Kyrie and Rudolf for her accomplices, which started the chain of events.

Ultimately the truth has to be something that would really hurt Ange, which means her own parents must be implicated. She would not care at all if Eva/Rosa/Krauss was easy to vilify, or if it was all really Yasu's work.

So basically, EP 7 with a few interesting surprises is what I believe happened on Rokkenjima. Is this contradicted by something?

My interpretation is that the statement is only true in the works written by Yasu (in advance of him actually arriving). Since they are written by her, she assumes things in them.

Basically, EPs written by Yasu prior to the murders. The red truth only applies to that scenario and to what Yasu planned to do, rather than what actually happened on Rokkenjima Prime.

So Yasu cooks up this stupid elaborate plot, but the actuality is that when Battler arrives, it doesn't go as EP1, 2, etc like she wrote it, because Battler came back for her (he has no other reason to go back and he does say that when he is his own man, etc, that he'd be back, if I recall correctly).

So the actual day really unfolds like Ep7. Yasu's predictions, her elaborate stuff, it all doesn't matter because the situation itself (every family members desperation and their animosity) has already set up the murders. This is why it doesn't matter even if Yasu is raised as Lion-- all the worlds end the same way because Yasu doesn't really have anything to do with the outcome.

Idk. It's been awhile since I read it, so I'm going through it with the sprites/voices now. Other than Maria, everything is actually better so far.

And Battler did solve it, and became even better friends with Yasu, but we got the whole argument later in the secret gold room about who should have what and it turned more into ep7.

I'd assume the killing started with someone threatening Yasu and Battler stepping in to stop it and a shot going off and hitting someone else. Which is why Ange is not too happy to hear the truth, and why Battler does not want to accept his old memories of who he is.

I like it because it lets me get away without anyone having any intention to kill anyone. It is harder to imagine someone wanting to kill the others.
