Hell, this doesn't even matter in the meta/fantasy world. Shannon, Kanon and Beatrice are all different people in the meta. It's usually quite bloody, but I'll tell you what there isn't, and that's mystery. No double meanings, no closed roomed puzzles, and no huge family drama to sort through. If you think about it even one of the characters (Erika) states that mystery novels with open and close cases that are predictable are boring and the fact that Umineko is still being discussed and theorized today means that it's not boring and that it succeeded where many others have failed. Hell, when is the last time you heard or read anyone discussing Helen Keller or Agatha Christie?
