There is no irony to be found. It does have a good story and interesting characters. Nasu's primary flaw is poor writing quality, which means that while the structure built by the text is of high quality, the text itself used to form the story is hard to read.

soon my ass. typemoon bled away slowly all the interesting ideas with the years. its just another otaku trap, much more then when they started. the new designs aren't bad per se, the problem is they lack even the hint of personality takuchi's goofy artstyle gave them. better kancolle than this

This is really strange. I started reading Tsukihime for the first time on the weekend and suddenly there has been 3 threads about it on /jp/ since then. And never before have I seen them here during my years of lurking.

What is happening?

what would prove a stump of a route dolled up to satisfy a handful of diehard neckbeards? nothing else than nasu has been a sellout since the first time he put the hands on a coin out of his silly fanfiction-tier stories. do you remember how was bad looking at new editions of star wars with shit pasted on? this will be the same.
in the end though, I think that the wrong is on our side, not TM's. tsuki became so important for me and other faggots because, back then, made certain internet people realize that they had something that was their exclusive allowance apart hating socially successful people, in a sort of constructive elitism syndrome with lenient effects on their harmful level of lonliness and isolation. "its almost an anime, but its borderline and no one outside Quatrechan knows how to install it! rejoice!"
its just a amateurish horror porn after all, and the most you sentimentally invested in it, the most this sequel shit makes you angry.
>>11810231
blue blue glass moon under the fucking crimson air, that's whats happening

>> No.11810326

>>11810313
Well, regardless of how "amateurish" it's perceived (well, it was in fact an amateur work), it did manage to strike a really solid fanbase in the west, although that might be attributed to the fact that it was one of the first western translation releases. Still, it was quite a fun ride back when it was released, and all, but in a sense you're right. Waiting for sequels and such is just a waste of time. It's a shame how Nasu simply refuses to put up works for the sake of anything other than money.

>> No.11810342

>>11810326
I didn't mean amateurish in a dispregiative manner, I actually think the halfassed and poor production values are a big part of the charm and success of tsukihime. as a product, it still feel fresh and organic, like something really made with passion and compiled despite the limitations

>> No.11810366

>>11809198
How can you call yourself a Touhou fan whilst disliking F/SN? Both Nasu and Zun have excellent artistic vision which is hampered by their lack of ability, and the works they make are quite frankly delicious despite the fact that the ingredients themselves weren't cooked as well as they should be, if you get what I mean. In short, you cannot love the raw artistic qualities of Zun's work without at the very least realising that Type Moon's (earlier) works also share similar qualities, even if the end result is lacking.

That was actually pretty well put. And it kind of explains a lot of how some anons act on pretty much all the boards.
