I actually really do like candid/street photography, but i just don't have the balls to take pictures of kids. I'd love to be able to just capture cute little moments that kids typically find themselves in, but even if it's just a quick snap with something like a 50mm, I can't shake the feeling that a parent will come up to me and punch me in the face. ;_;

Why are many Japanese streets missing sidewalks and kerbs? I often see white lines designating where pedestrians should walk, but isn't it dangerous when any car can just accidentally run you over? From what I have gathered from youtube, the Japanese do have their share of reckless and oblivious drivers, even if they are moving at low speeds in narrow streets.

Very interesting, never seen that before, though I did see very narrow sidewalks in old parts of towns. Sounds archaic for both Europe and Japan, but I guess you wouldn't be able to fit in a sidewalk without demolishing the houses first. Of course it comes with a cost too. Their life is really low paced and are pretty much disconnected from the rest. The biggest drawback for me it's technology, as some places don't have decent internet connection if they any at all.
