Yup, 4 years ago. They showed part of it on Shukan but it got a much longer DVD release. No surprise which team won.

SKE did a fitness test once, Rena couldn't even do one situp. She can now though, she was so embarrassed that she started exercising more, so what you see on Mechaike is actually an improvement over her past self...

I've never liked Miichan, but I think its disgusting that management gave her captaincy of Team 4. It's a redemption story, but some one who organized dating parties should never be given a position of status within the group. Who knows how many girls scandals were because of Miichan's parties.

And it's also disgusting that she got placed back into the Senbatsu. Hard work will always be rewarded my ass. There are so many undergirls that work so much harder than Miichan, and have never been given an opportunity.

There's a lot of blind faith on stage48. Personally I think Miichan is the only AKB member I really can't stand anymore. Ever since the scandal, I can't believe in her, I don't even find her funny, and I skip her AKBingo segments.
It's a bad example for the younger girls and they shouldn't let her stay on the group, even worse making her captain of a brand new Team. But I don't know why Akimoto (or whoever is on charge of those things) does the things he do anymore anyway.

I used to really like her, but the whole thing just left kind of a sour taste. Still, I don't dislike her. She has rebounded pretty well and does her idol duties like always. It's mostly back to normal. In the end, it just turns into another joke and I think it's best that way. It was pretty terrible for everyone involved. Team 4 was created and 6 months later, the 4th election came. They didn't rank very well despite being pushed in every form of media. The team disbanded 6 months later. After another 6 months, the ex members ranked. So you say it was because they had momentum despite not even being together as a team for half a year. I say it's because team 4 was holding them back and their potentials grew after joining new teams. That's certainly the case with the members who joined team A.

The trial they got for this single is that all 17 of them (other than Ikuta who folded due to her toe getting broken, Kazumin who folded because the doctor told her her health wasn't good enough to do it and Ikoma who folded due to vietnam flashbacks) had to stand under a cascade, pray to the gods for success on this one, and sing a bit of Baretta, kinda like what Ikuta, Nojo and Manatsu had to do for the... I think 4th single?

So they parted the 17 of them in 4 groups. 3 of them will go do the cascade thing. One of the groups (which ended up being Hori, Ashurin, MaiMai and Nishino) will go to just hang out in the beach and eat delicious food in Okinawa.

This will be in next week's episode, as well as the last group consisting of Manatsu and the 3 eternal-under members who got in on this single (Misa-nee, Himetan and Hinapyon) doing the cascade thing.

As for news... well, Ikuta fucked her toe, Kazumin might be getting a dreaded japanese cold soon, Ikoma gets vietnam flashbacks, and Hashimoto laughs at the misfortunes of others.

I think this is also what made Yui ahead of her gen, she was in a proper group from the get go and look at where is now. Whilst Team 4 under Oba suffered a blow thanks to her scandal and even having Shimada didn't change things much. Disbanding Team 4 was one of the better decisions management did.
