It sucks. It's locked down. It lacks a TON of features. It's proprietary. It's controlled by one of the most evil corporations on Earth also notorious for making software that sucks.

It CONSTANTLY has had to have developers make hacks to make stuff that works in good browsers work with specifically IE because it's horrible software.

I don't use IE10 because of the same reason I don't use Windows 8 - The interface is terrible.

Believe me, I realize that IE10 and Win8 are *functionally* better. However, this is the age where all forms of technology are going towards shittier and shittier interfaces that are unintuitive and more cluttered with useless garbage ways of doing things.

I don't use Chrome because it is notorious for spawning 10, 20, 30 bloated processes for each tab and taking several GB of ram.

Firefox crashes with Flash sometimes, however that it its only issue. I blame it on Flash itself.

While I don't use IE, I'd argue this point regarding Win8. I used it for about six months before going back to 7, and while in general it works okay once you install a start menu, there were tons of little things that bugged the shit out of me. Like how the fancy new task manager takes forever and a half to load, which is the last thing you want when you've got a misbehaving process that's already brought your system to a crawl. Or how the updater will reboot your system without your permission, potentially causing data loss (you can only delay it so many times before it forces a restart whether you want it or not).

The only feature I actually miss is being able to have a taskbar on my second monitor. Not a big deal, but it was nice.

Heads up guys.

Microsoft just took down the links for the Inori-themed Internet Explorer because it was allowing Windows 7 users to start using Internet Explorer 11 when the full version is still being restricted to only Windows 8+ users.

But, luckily here's a download link.

64-Bit:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/aixzyldbqzdtt7r/inori-aizawa-ie11-win7-x64-setup-1.0.exe

CRC32: 8C70C7D2
MD5:1391566D17C65C72B7C5586D0571FAF0
SHA-1:47222E11E06943026C4AC7F014943F9BB4275676

File is 53.2 MB.

32-Bit:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/c4uhzc11zfpmls1/inori-aizawa-ie11-win7-x86-setup-1.0.rar

Use at your own discretion. It will update and then prompt for restart, and then once you do, you'll have the Inori version of Internet Explorer 11.

I don't really know why Microsoft doesn't want Windows 7 users to have Internet Explorer 11 yet.

My guess is that it is probably planned obsolescence. Since the initial Inori Internet Explorer 11 was able to perfectly run on Windows 7 and people haven't reported getting any bugs after installing it, Internet Explorer 11 doesn't seem to be relying on any OS technologies only found on 8.1 so there's really no good reason why Internet Explorer 11 can't be shipped out to Windows 7 at the same time as Windows 8/ 8.1

I, myself, personally haven't had any problems after getting the new Internet Explorer version for my Windows 7, but I have a restore point in case something starts making the browser go nuts.

>My guess is that it is probably planned obsolescence.
Entirely possible. They tried that shit with other versions as well. What I don't get is why they think it would work. The people who use IE are the ones least likely to notice or care that they're running an old version. Everyone else will happily continue using Chrome or Firefox on Win7.

>If they want easy to use they should stick with their macs.
Windows users get frustrated very easily. GNU/Linux has many differences, so you want a really soft learning curve for them and hold their hands if you don't want them ragequitting and then running around saying that Linux is shit and their users are all spergs.

>Something like #! is entry level enough.
Doesn't Crunchbang use Debian stable repos though? That's pretty outdated and it might have firmware/driver problems. Besides it doesn't look good, it might turn many people off. While I don't dislike it, I don't see how it's a better suggestion.

Opera-tan was such a wonderful girl when she was 12, but now that she's 15, she turned into a useless generic slut.

I guess we shouldn't really be surprised, but it still hurts. It always hurts.

Window manager -should- have an option to turn memory on for specific windows. There's also options to create on a fixed position/state, among other things.

That must be why open-source software is almost always better than the proprietary alternative.

>First you need people real behind it and real people don't work for free.

Do you know what kind of people contribute to linux? IBM, Intel, Redhat, HP, Google, Oracle, etc. Pretty much every single major important tech company. Their contributions end up as FOSS too. A global community working together on an open project along with support from very major companies, this isn't "real people", but the Indian code-monkeys Microsoft hires are?
