Did anyone on /a/ watch Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on CNN tonight?

>Interviewed manga author Toshio Maeda (created of Urotsukidōji) and discussed the history of tentacle porn
>Visited a Mandarake store and looked at figures, BL manga, and otaku culture in general
>Met with a dominatrix and discussed Japan's famous rope bondage traditions
>maids, catgirls, hostess clubs, and bishie host clubs
>made fun of overproduced j_pop and otehr shit. Found a local metal band.

That scene where he is looking at large art prints of this girl being savagely tentacle raped, in a formal restaurant with Maeda, and the woman working there is just standing there smiling.

Best celebrity chef ever.

This is the top gear of cooking shows. About 10% of an episode is dedicated to food.

The rest is guns, finding drugs, finding the red light district, and having fun in strange places. No guns or drugs in Tokyo though, so he found other things to do.

In Tokyo he was actually speaking positively about the otaku culture.

He was most critical of the Tokyo host/hostess clubs. "Loneley men pay to talk to girls. Across the street lonely women pay to talk to men. Why don't these people just get together and fuck each other?"

>> No.11588869

And he clearly doesn't get the idea behind host clubs.

Sometimes. They will always focus on a few local dishes and famous restaurants in any city featured.

He will also find the local junk food. He will go from the most expensive resteraunt o nthe entire continent, and go down the stret to a street vendor selling some local grilled meat. And he likes that better most of the time.

In tonight's Tokyo episode he visited the local Lawson store to sample their junk food.

>> No.11588890

I watched it with my mom. The otaku part was embarassing because she asked if that's the stuff I liked, I responded yes, and then they start talking about yaoi and tentacle rape. I enjoyed it though.

Also, the media portrays unrealistic images of men and women that cannot be fulfilled in real life. It isn't just a Japanese problem. We have the same issue in America.

Young Japanese people must be taught the pleasures of family life.
