People are now trying even more obviously to fit in by putting stuff other than normal sage in their e-mail field. Tells you how much people actually care about using sage correctly if they are bumping threads with stuff like that.

I feel like there's been a decrease in usage of sage. Of course I have no way to prove this but that's just how it feels like to me. Maybe because I'm more concious of it now, though.

I'm protesting the removal of sage.

Right before it was 'removed', I noticed that almost no one was saging anymore, so it probably hasn't changed very much. In a year or so, it might be bad, since newposters may or may not be aware that the feature even exists, and shitty threads will stay on the first page.

I think the "downvote" stigma was a stupid reason to make it invisible. Almost no one seriously believed that, it was just one of those ongoing memes. On fast boards, or boards with less posting guidelines, it serves no purpose, but on /jp/ in particular, it was invaluable, especially for those of us who use userscripts.

Moot is an idiot and doesn't think things through. He removed nokosage for no reason and then made sage work like nokosage and now we don't have sage anymore, so nobody even knows whether the other posters bump or sage. There is just no orientation anymore. I stopped using "sage" completely (it was bothersome to put it into the email field all the time anyway, why can't the site remember it?) and I'm pretty sure 99% of new browsers will never learn that it even exists.
