I've been trying to get that translated by someone on the Touhou doujin site but looks like nobody wants to pick it up. It's traditional yukkuri comics in black and white. Some crazy expressions and dialogue is in there too, and a total of 34 pages (28 probably worth translating).

Prologue: Birth of the Yukkuri Tyrant


A lone, tattered, and dirty infant Yukkuri is heard wailing in the middle of the woods.

Numerous cuts and bruises mark its soft body. What should have been a whitish healthy texture is now a soil colored brown mixed with a dirty reddish hue.

The child is unaware of its own heritage, having lost its accessories shortly after being born.

The child doesn't know where its parents are. The only remaining memory after being born was that of a Remirya trying to eat it. It doesn't remember how it survived the attack. It only knows that it is lonely, cold and hungry. It continues wailing.

"yuyukkuri"; The little yukkuri had grown accustomed to that name. She doesn't know why, but the name felt so fitting to her.

Yukari extended her hand and presented a white sphere to Yuyukkuri

"Yuyuu!, what is that, yuyuu?"

Yukari smiled.

Yukari observed the event and smiled gently, as before.

It's "Gera gera", or dericive laughter in the first two panels, and "Oo, nibui nibui" or "Oooh, slow slow" as in slow to catch on, I think. Babelfish translates it as "sluggish".

Cautious, Yuyukkuri carefully nibbles on it.... "It's sweet!"

Yukkurisa continues nibling on the candy until she realizes something different.

yuyukkuri didn't have much time to protest. Yukkurisa starts her next blow.

"yughuh!! yugh! yugh!" Yukkurisa receives some cuts from that. She is now more furious. She prepares her next charge.

Yukkurisa is a child, but she is still larger than the recently born yuyukkuri. Yuyukkuri's mind works hard to find a solution.

Yuyukkuri instincts awakens and she opens her mouth.
"Hyuuuuuuu!"
Yuyukkuri tries to suck yukkurisa in... however it's pointless to use this against an older yukkurisa.

SLAM

"yughugh!"
Yuyukkuri receives another blow. She is noticeably leaking now.

Yukari clearly upset right now.
"Listen yukkuri, there are parts of yukkurisa that you can eat and parts that you can't. Use this to your advantage"

Time seems to slow down for yuyukkuri as yukkurisa continues her charge. Yuyukkuri tries to suck Yukkurisa again, but it fails once more.

Suddenly, Yuyukkuri realizes something. Yukkurisa's hat is being swaying in her direction. Yuyukkuri focuses her suction on Yukkurisa's hat and inhales fiercely.

pop! the hat comes off

"Yu!?"
Yukurissa charges into her hat. It is now covering her eyes. Yuyukkuri uses this chance and tries to squash Yukkurisa.

Yuyukkuri crashes down on Yukkurisa. Unfortunately it does more damage to herself than Yukkurisa.

The even more enraged Yukkurisa charges towards her. Yukkurisa is going for the kill.

However, Yuyukkuri isn't willing to die yet. She does the unthinkable and leaps towards the charging Yukkurisa...

Perhaps their "bottom" has something to prevent the yukkuri from harming itself while bouncing, like the elephant's legs.

If they land on another Yukkuri it absorbs the blow. The yukkuri are quite soft. The one on the bottom suffers. If they crash into the ground, especially with the intent to kill, it damages them.

The yukkuri yuyuko in this case has not yet fully healed so impact type attacks are bad for her wounds.

I always assumed they just had extra dough "skin" underneath them then anywhere else that acted as the shock absorber for their movement. Gravity also plays a role, I guess, as the dough of a chibi and koyukkuri is still somewhat tender and, with lots of movement, would eventually gravitate to the bottom where it becomes a bit harder as it ages.

I've never been more glad that the Kirby games aren't set in some M-rated realistic and gritty world of grimdark.

If you start trying to mix silly round cute things out of a dreamworld and the harsh realities of wilderness survival, the disturbing mental images come hard and fast.

There was a picture of Yuyuko absorbing Kirby and becoming Yuyukirby...

The Yuyuko Yukkuri Kirby . . . Yuyukukirby? . . . whatever . . . was pretty amusing looking.

I was thinking more abstractly about the whole idea of having battles when your primary power is the means to inhale and devour things. If you set this power in a whimsical dreamworld, it's cute and silly, but if you treat it as a serious, grim, affair like this story does, it's actually pretty horrible.

Then again the idea of defeating huge mushrooms with eyes by jumping on them would probably be pretty gruesome if you played it as grim reality . . . actually, the idea of flying through a forest throwing knives at faeries could be disturbing depending on how you imagine it.


There's some terrible irony to the fact that the yukkuris, which are cartoonish exaggerations of Touhous, are forced to appear in fiction that is far more grim and serious than the real stories of Touhou itself.

tears flow out of yukkurisa's eye sockets. But Yuyukkuri is unmoved. With one final gulp she swallowed Yukkurisa's remains whole.

Yukkurisa has finished eating her first victim. Just then, something happened to Yuyukkuri.

Images.. scents.. words... many things started flooding into Yuyukkuri's mind

Yukkurisa's birth. Yukkurisa's family. Yukkurisa's unfortunate meeting with Yukari, Yukkurisa's violent death. All tried to force their way into Yuyukkuri's mind, but after a while, everything faded away.

What was that, yuyuu?"
Yuyukkuri was trembling now

"Memories..."
Yukari was once again displaying a kind gentle smile.

"The yukkuri-kind can pass on memories to another yukkuri this way. It is usually done between parent to a child when their time of death arrives"

"However, even among the yukkuri, your kind is especially gifted in it."

Sadly, I missed the discussion (several weeks?) ago regarding the psychological workings behind a person enjoying Yukkuri torture. If I enjoy it, does this mean /jp/ is breeding a whole new generation of psychopaths?

It's a subconscious rage against those who take it easy.

Perhaps anon is surrounded by slackers in real life. Perhaps he's the a true hardworker, but because he's not good at sucking up, the other slackers claim all the credit.

Rage against yukkuri and their children? Anon is probably enraged against filthy immigrants who keep on breeding without care.

Of course all of this is probably wrong since 99 percent of yukkuri stories are imported from Japan.

Yuyukkuri's next goal is too devour other powerful yukkuri and steal their powers, megaman/kirby style.

I would appreciate suggestions for victims and how the scenario would play out, but please limit it to stage 1/2 bosses for now.

I'd also like to add that yuyukkuri will gain notoriety with each yukkuri she devours. After a certain amount, special events will occur. For now I've decided that Reimu appearing to "settle disasters" is the maximum worst case situations. Will we end the story with a gameover like that? who knows.
