In a vacuum, I'd honestly say Akiha isn't that bad. But compared to Arcueid, Hisui, and Satsuki I just don't find her very moe. Maybe because she is kind of eclipsed by these other characters.

Like I said, she's okay, but she's completely overshadowed by the rest of the cast. Even Ciel, who pisses me off, has her beat in the interestingness and memorability factors.

Her sister, on the other hand, is smart, happy, adorable, interesting, and all around likable, enough so that I was able to completely forgive what she does at the end of Hisui's route and even felt sorry for her.

I remember I used to go all crazy when the girl suddenly speak like "i-it's not like I'm doing this for you or anything!" kind of shit, but it got boring pretty fast. It's nice when a girl has its soft side and shows it timidly but the generic tsundere(like Akiha and Rin for instance) is just predictable by now. When the story reaches its climax and she starts to notice her feeling for you and the TSUN TSUN bitching goes on all I see is "POPULARITY BOOST" written all over her face.

Tsundere sells, but this is starting to get old.

You realize characters are the product of their environment, right? Most of their traits can be pinpointed to how they grew--otherwise, the reader would never really be interested in backstory.

Yes, Akiha is defined almost entirely by her background. The start of Day 12 explains this in perfect clarity, from her resolve on her family, to her love for Shiki. Every thought and action since then was a product of what happened to her when she was little.

You're the one claiming her to be tsundere. I'm just said (repeatedly) that her characterization goes beyond "starts cold, then warms up toward a character/protagonist". She doesn't fit the criteria.
