Wait a moment here.

Isn't that legally a crime to sell this?

>> No.11360358

No, Touhou articles by third parties are sold all the time, ZUN allows it.

>> No.11360359

zun legally allows people to make money off touhou because he's a dumb gook

>> No.11360360

But anon, they worked so hard to make it!

>> No.11360365

ZUN is a beta ass gook who won't do anything about it.

>> No.11360369

where can I get this model?
If only I hadnt suffered an HDD crash, I would be selling all my Miku models.

yes, if its digital I can just copy it. Its worth absolutely nothing because its not a scarce good.
If you want to make money with software, it needs to be a service based industry. Think MMO's instead of on disc games.

I wouldn't be surprised given the modern generation of degenerates.

They don't seem to understand they have a moral obligation to pay for software if the developer asks for it.

what the fuck is this, by whose standards?

This is actually what those people say, a social construct. Something made up and the equivalent of those smiley face stickers teachers gave you for doing what they wanted, completely worthless and just a pat on the back. No one is obligated to do anything.

>> No.11360406

What the.. So you mean that if I make a 3D Marisa Land I'm legally allowed to sell it? That sounds too good to be true, something's fishy.

>> No.11360411

>>11360406
It's called a doujin game and you're allowed to sell it unless the "original copyright holders" file against you. Under Japanese law, anyway.

>> No.11360423

>>11360411
Maybe I'll just resume my work on that finally and release it only for /jp/. never had any intention to make money off it anyway
This is why I love to work with Touhou stuff, you don't have to deal with a bunch of shitty copyrights and people feels.

Assuming they don't have ZUN's permission, it is. ZUN doesn't allow selling things at places where official Touhou products aren't also distributed in, non-Japanese digital marketplaces in particular.

>> No.11360480

>>11360475
This is why I was surprised, considering how Japaneses view us Westerners in the first place. This guy selling the model is just not helping with the issue either.

You've been making models on your own, right? What software do you use?

>> No.11360495

>>11360475
Also it could lead to the guy who made this model not releasing any more of his work for public download or putting it under heavy passwords that require you to actually know runes. It happens in the MMD community all the time.

>> No.11360497

>>11360488
Nah, I'm not an artist, I'm using blender primary for modifying/rigging whatever free model I find for my shitty games.
... though, I've been trying to create clothes and stuff recently. Free stuff just have its limits I guess.

I even forgot i posted on that thread. No, i actually found out about that /jp/ project about 2 months after i 'finished' the potato game

>> No.11360556

It's really, really dumb that you can own the rights to a design or even a name.

For one thing, Reisen isn't original at all. PSM isn't exactly known for its revolutionary character designs.

As a side note, one of the reasons the DAICON opening animations couldn't be released stateside is because the main character is a bunny girl, and Playboy apparently owns the rights to those. And they used an English pop song without permission (yet we're the pirates?).

>> No.11360626

>>11360556
>Playboy apparently owns the rights to those.
Well, they DID invent them for their cafe and it's basically a big symbol of them.

>> No.11360691

>>11360556
Wait, aren't wee seeing bunny girls all the time in figure form? I find it hard to believe they're paying royalties for that.
