When a character runs out of TP, they return to gensokyo. They are not lost - if you return to Gensokyo from the menu, all of your characters will be present with full HP, SP, and TP.

TP is a mechanic for limiting your exploration. It goes down with every battle, moreso if a character is damaged, and a lot more if they are defeated in battle. Eventually you won't have enough characters to explore and will be forced to return to Gensokyo.

What happened here? I tried to reset Reimu, answered yes to the "are you sure?" as usual, then this second message popped up. Even though I said no, Reimu still got her level up bonuses and skills reset, so I don't know what's going on.

In Patchy's library, the second option I believe it is. The first Y/N is just "Are you sure?" The second one will pop up only if you have a tome of reincarnation and it's asking to reset all the points you spent in the magic library and refund the gold.

When you reset skill points like this, it also resets their level, so make sure to re-level them at the shrine again.

This is for version 1.120. This does not include ANY of the 1.130 fixes, and I recommend backing up your saves if you've already updated to 1.130 and saved since then. I doubt there will be any problems, but better safe than sorry.

This should translate most of the essential menu text, i.e. what you see in Gensokyo and in battles. One item is translated, a few monster names, and the first 3 lines of dialogue are done just so I can see how they look. I'll do item names for the full thing, but that's it.

Stuff I know is missing:
Level down message.
Descriptions and menu text for the bestiary and achievements.
I think some status effect messages.
All of the "Select floor to enter" menu items.

If there's stuff you definitely want to see in the menu patch, post it and I'll ask to have it translated. Nothing super complicated or superflous (no dialogue, no floor titles, item or spell descriptions, etc.

Now to work on updating the translations to work with the new patch...

I ended up just doing it every 20 battles since I could get TP there, currently at roughly 58 battles done since I messed up the first run and didn't notice that Remi was unable to oneshot one of the enemies on 20F with a normal attack, I'll even up the numbers before I check in with Flan's event next time.

Also, for anyone that has gotten Flan, out of curiousity, did you ever use Okuu? Flan's event shows her which leads me to believe you also need her BP up, which I can't track properly since I have already used her quite a bit to get Yuuka.

Well that was interesting.

Managed to take down Komachi without much trouble, with Rinnosuke tanking and bringing Minoriko in whenever he needed a heal. The fight got a bit more hectic once Komachi used her every single status effect including death move, but everything went okay. Sadly, Parsee wasn't too useful (even with everyone being debuffed everywhere), but Rumia was a cute little unbuffed nuke and Kogasa got a really useful stun near the end. This thing about having a party of 12 is more fun than I expected, although now that I have more than 12 I'm having trouble deciding who should stay in the party.

The game is supposedly balanced as to give a good challenge by fighting a boss on the challenge level. The items themselves are all stat-boosting items like the life sphere(max hp) and energy sphere(max tp, I think) you got, so it is your call if you want to aim for those. I have no idea if you can grind them from normal enemies later on like most normal boss drops though.
Also only bosses and subbosses have challenge levels, normal mobs and FOEs do not.

pfff. I started with Youmu, Rinnosuke, Reimu and Marisa. I unloaded a spark on her and switched her for Rumia. Youmu is a dedicated switcher and tank. Rinnosuke heals whatever hapened on the first turn to Youmu and is replaced by Kogasa. Koagsa keeps going with her terror/MND debuff spell. Downed Komachi, only lost Rinnosuke and Cirno to insta-death. Followed >>11328293 plan with Youmu as tank and Marisa/Rumia as damage dealers after Kogasa debuffed her while Rinnosuke/Reimu/Keine buffed the party and Minoriko/Reimu healed, having Momiji, Chen and Nitori (Extend Arm's nature element makes it effective here) jump in for some extra damage while the others healed their MP. I tried de-speeding her with Cirno but she seems immune to that as neither Cirno's passive nor her Icicle Fall worked (and the Ice element made for subpar damage). That regen passive on Youmu really helped keep her in top shape throughout, same with Minoriko. Youmu as MVP tank even got the honor of finishing her off with her Eternity Slash after Komachi healed herself twice and Rumia was empty again.
All in all a nice fight, that damn poison moth was quite a lot harder with its stupidly fast group attacks.

I'm finding the Remilia/Sakuya fight to be really erradicate, and not how I imagined it to go.

Remilia feels less durable than Sakuya, considering that actively trying to take down Sakuya results in Remilia being pretty even in health with her. Which is problematic due to her using Bloodsuck which only exaggerates Sakuya's already very capable abilities to kill my backrow. Likewise Sakuya seems more or less immune to debuffs whilst Remilia is susceptible to them, and Sakuya is weak to status effects where Remilia isn't.

Any tips for this fight? I figured I should save Master Spark till after Sakuya gets low enough to where she starts using Private Square to help prevent to many problems.

Well yeah, if you dump everything you got into SP then sure I guess it stands to reason you'd have more SP.

I took advantage of her solid defensive stats and made her into my opening off-tank who fired off as many ATT/MAG buffs as possible, than swapped out for Yukari while Ran regenerated.

If you wanted to stack SP though, it shouldn't be difficult. Three 4+ MP items, drop some points into Boost MP along with levels, plus whatever Enhancer gives you. Should be able to land 40+ no problem, maybe even 50+ by the very end of it all? I'm not that far yet to say for sure.

Get her 'Expansion of Consciousness' skill with +2 MP Regen and she'd be regen'ing 12 MP each turn. More if she's got 'Cooling Down'. Would make a solid combo with Chen if you use her since Concentrate gives Chen a massive buff.

Honestly, between Engacho Guard, Misfortune Reversal, and Role of Nagashi-bina, Hina's kit is just really good. Throw her Hexer subclass and she turns into the silliest offtank/caster/debuffer mix. Honestly I found that building her defensive-orientated while still putting level up bonuses in mind and having her sit in second slot was really effective. Not sure how I feel about having Keine go with this as well, though, since I feel like Keine's buffs counteract Hina's debuff-buff conversion. However it might have merit if you think Keine's buffs will net more good across the party overall; but in that case, why not use Ran?

Momiji has by and large the largest defense growth in the game, stick her against a physical attacking boss and boom.

Her support comes from her skill "Ability to see a Thousand Miles" rather than abilities, which frankly is better because it doesn't require Momiji to expend a turn for an ability when she can swap someone out. I think a lot of people forget that accuracy is pretty important since missing any spells can mean the difference in a fight.

Meiling has lower Defense and Mind gains, but slightly higher Health and absolutely zero damage. I don't see how this makes her a better tank, her Healer might make her a better support, but not a better tank.

To say that Youmu is a better physical tank would be wrong pretty inaccurate, she has worse health, defense, and mind scaling but yes Youmu does more damage.

Komachi is the only person who really can be slated for better. Just because her can stack the fuck out of Affinities, which paired with her massive Health pool and Regen she's almost unkillable. Not to mention her ability to debuff.

Healer is incredibly weak, which is largely why I've never opted to use Meiling in either game. Because there have always been alternate, and better sources of healing that can actually sustain. Colorful Rain though actually does something sustain herself though.

This doesn't mean that Meiling is just a better tank, she's pretty situational just like all the other tanks. Momiji is a better support, but she lacks the sustain Meiling has. Trade offs for each tank really, both of them are better suited for different comps.

I didn't have her at the time, I probably could have gotten her if i'd died a few more times to get Kasen and then killed the FOE to get Chen but this fight was incredibly intense the way I did it. Only lost 3 times before the RNG didn't fuck over my best characters right at the start of the match.
