I stood up from my chair for what seemed like the 50th time tonight and whimsically tiptoed over to my freezer; the single modern appliance that I owe my summer comfort to, the very same appliance which held the chocolate ice cream I craved.

I slowly caressed my hand over the door, down to the hidden grip in the freezer door and pulled slightly. Like a virgin eager to throw away her dignity, the door of my freezer flung open, offering to me whatever I like. I had my eye on only one thing though, and that was the ice cream. I reached into the frozen compartment as the cold air made contact with my skin, further still my hand went in. When my fingers made contact with the soft plastic around the outside of the lid, a sigh of pleasure left my lips as I grasped with all my might and pulled my reward towards me. Looking down at it, I confirmed it was exactly what I wanted and I gently shut the door before making my way back to my computer chair.

Sitting down I lifted the lid off the slightly smaller, 14oz container, reminiscing about the times when this treat came in at a full pint, 16oz. Oh well. What's done is done I thought to myself as I peeled off the lid and threw it behind me, waiting for the sound of the soft impact elsewhere in my room before proceeding. It didn't matter where the lid landed; I would not be needing it anymore.

People idolize over Haruhi Suzymiya because she acts like a guy. You ever wish you could have a girl as a friend, just to hang out with like one of the guys? A girl that would have the same interests as you, the same enthusiasm, the same keen observations and sense of adventure? How about a girlfriend that you could just hang out with, have fun with, and not have to listen to her whine and complain and leak.

Haruhi Suzymiya is that ideal "hang out with" girl. She has fans because she has all the best traits of a guy friend you can hang out with, only she happens to be a girl. Understand that when people idolize over Haruhi Suzymiya, they idolize over the personality of a cool guy friend in a girl's body- an ideal friend/partner who has the best of both worlds, and would be nearly impossible to find.

I chose my trusty long spoon that I keep nearby at all times and decided to scoop off the small, slippery, smooth layer which had been left from melting slightly before being refrozen. I brought the spoon to my lips and lapped at it like some sort of animal. "Acceptable," was how I could describe the taste. Acceptable only because this refrozen part of this small treat had taken on a bit of freezer-burn-like taste. I made my way through it quickly before I noticed my hand started hurting. It was the spoon. The handle was so long and so thin that you needed to hold it quite close to the smooth, slight curve of the kitchenware.

A smile stretched across my face as this meant I would need to get up yet again to fetch myself a more suitable spoon. Setting the small container of ice cream on my desk I spun around in my chair, standing up yet again as I skipped towards my bedroom door. Looking back at the ice cream it seemed so fragile, so defiled. Missing its lid with a spoon already inside of it, waiting for someone to eat its contents. "I'll be right back," I whispered into my room before closing the door and making my way down the corridor and into the kitchen.

Front drawer, compartment third from the left. I could find the spoons with my eyes closed, yet I had the light turned low to help. First grab into the compartment I produced a capable spoon. Clean, correct angle of handle, not too big. "Just perfect for such a small container of ice cream," I thought to myself before noticing a slight rust spot. "You've been a dirty boy," I said aloud, tossing him into the sink. Second reach into the compartment produced a perfect spoon with all the traits of the previous with none of the defects. I immediately stuck it into my mouth as I made my way back into my room.

Licking the spoon clean, I brought it back down to the now wet mess that was the remainder of the ice cream. Breathing heavily, the words "how unfortunate" left my mouth as I scooped another small piece for myself. The second was as delightful as the previous. The third was as delightful as the second, and the seventh as delightful and pleasurable as the first. By now this container was making sloppy noises, signally the activity was coming to an end. With one final scoop, I gathered the final piece of gooey liquid along with its less viscous surrounding liquid and brought it to my lips in one swift motion. It was over. There was no more ice cream.

I sat at the computer for a while, looking down at what I had just done. I savored the flavor left in my mouth. I savored the silky smoothness left in my mouth. "This couldn't have gone any better," I breathily sighed to myself as I put the container on the ground and licked the spoon clean.

Maybe I'll try vanilla or something next time, I dunno.

Opening my door I entered my room, shutting the door behind me and locking the door. The lights were off in my room. The only thing illuminating that petite, cute container was my computer monitor. By now the long spoon had fallen out due to the softening of the ice cream. It was such a lewd sight, the spoon, coated with the milky liquids from inside the small container, dripping back into the snug circular construct it was inside of for so long. Sighing as I picked it up, I licked the melted liquid off and savored the taste. It would perhaps be my last. Making sure this long spoon was clean, I tossed it behind me and readied myself for what I was about to experience.

Picking up the container by the edges to minimize heat transfer from my hands I took the spoon from my mouth and brought it to the smooth, soft, velvety material as it melted when coming in contact with the warm spoon. Even though it had not been pierced before, the ice cream easily accepted such a large spoon. Making a movement to produce a small scoop for myself as I looked down intently at what I was doing, licking my lips and opening my mouth as I pulled the spoon back out of the ice cream as the scoop stayed planted firmly in its small indent.

I brought it up to eye-level, noticing how the heat of my room was easily making this ice cream so wet, so sloppy. I watched a drip of creamy fluid drop from the spoon before continuining my snack. Bringing the spoon to my mouth I first licked the bottom of the spoon, tasting first the sweetness, then the cocoa, before closing my mouth and letting it dissolve slowly into my mouth, coating the inside with a smooth, velvety feeling. I knew I needed more. Unfortunately because this spoon was so big and the container was so small, I wasn't able to savor this for very long before I knew it would be over.
