I don't know where to say this so I'll say it here.

I wouldn't kill Hitler if given the chance. If just a clap of my hands would be enough to make it so Hitler was never born, I still wouldn't do it. I hate the things he did, but if not for him the possibility exists that otaku culture would have never come into existence.

Hitler was a normal. Life under his rule would be boring as hell. No NEETing, no freedom of expression in fiction. Plus I've always felt that military shit is gay as hell. And killing millions of people is bad. Still, his actions indirectly led to otaku culture.

If Hitler didn't rise to power and didn't cause Germany to so aggressively start WWII in Europe, the US would not be involved in Europe in WWII. This would allow them to fully focus on Japan, defeating them before inventing the atomic bomb. Their conflict with Russia would start sooner than it had in our history, and by the time the atomic bomb was invented, the US would be at war with Russia. The bomb would be deployed in combat, but it would not result in an immediate surrender, causing further proliferation and usage of the weapons. Russia would eventually end up creating atomic bombs as well, and bombing the US the same way they bombed Russia. WWII would end with the US, Russia and Japan devastated by large amounts of nuclear weapons. Their populations would drastically be reduced, and as as most of the visitors to this site are American, that means most of you wouldn't be here today.

Don't forget that the infraestructure and industry nurtured by Hitler was what made Germany recover so quickly after the war. Had Hitler not seen to this, Europe would not have Germany to keep it standing, and more than one "1st world nation" would be ruined.
